Sword made of 15n20 and k720 damascus steel with etched runes just like shown in the film.
Guard and pommel both mild steel with copper wire inlays.
Stacked handle of iroko wood and mild steel.
Overall length just shy of 1meter (40inch) with 15cm (6inch) handle.
The pommel construction is not based on historical pieces, all just my own ideas.
I made it this way to replicate the two pins I saw in the movie one. It's very solid with one tapered pins that locks the handle stack and guard and the two pins peened over the bottom "cap".
Very happy with how it turned out!

I have never used this K720 steel, this steel is similar to which steel? I have always used 5160/15N20, 1075/15N20 steel. Sometimes I use high carbon steel and other nickel plated or low carbon steel such as 1084 or 1095 steel forged with 15N20. Cutlery Forger from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Some Norse swords were made by combining a hard and soft steel together like a laminated katana, but instead of wrapping it the Norse did it by welding a U shaped strip of hard steel around the a softer core billet so that when the billet was lengthened out the hard steel would form the perimeter of the blade as its cutting edge. This can also let you combine damascus patterns in two different directions.

Something I like in those craftmans/restorations videos, like BBP or MyMechanics, is their approach on loctite. When we, normal citizen, use loctite it's because we want to glue the shit of something together, to never move it again. Those guys instead just use loctite when they want something to stick for a while, nothing to crazy.
BTW, superbe job my man, as always. Your work is truly beautiful. Cheers.

Awesome work. Love this movie and the sword. An excellent replica. I can't imagine how much such a sword would have been worth back in the day. I took you quite a bit of time to make this one with modern tools, and techniques. Imagine making this back in the day when everything was forged, cut, chiseled, filed, and honed down to a fine polish by hand. No wonder the sword was found in the long ship in a burial mound. Such an honor would have be reserved to only someone who had the status to be there and such a man would have had a sword like that.

Then I saw that it was your channel and my mind was blown. I was thrilled when the video started out with you showing 2 types of steel, then cutting them into multiple strips of equal length. I thought, wow, Black Beard is really branching out, buying more tools, and learning new skills. I was almost giddy watching you blacksmithing!
