Sword made of 15n20 and k720 damascus steel with etched runes just like shown in the film.
Guard and pommel both mild steel with copper wire inlays.
Stacked handle of iroko wood and mild steel.
Overall length just shy of 1meter (40inch) with 15cm (6inch) handle.
The pommel construction is not based on historical pieces, all just my own ideas.
I made it this way to replicate the two pins I saw in the movie one. It's very solid with one tapered pins that locks the handle stack and guard and the two pins peened over the bottom "cap".
Very happy with how it turned out!

I have never used this K720 steel, this steel is similar to which steel? I have always used 5160/15N20, 1075/15N20 steel. Sometimes I use high carbon steel and other nickel plated or low carbon steel such as 1084 or 1095 steel forged with 15N20. Cutlery Forger from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Absolutely Awesome display of discipline many don't experience.
All the Best
@@thecosmicknowingknowing3099 It has nothing to do with kid discipline, but experience! I make apricot on the arm! No modern "nutella" machinery, but in the middle of the Atlantic Forest with natural charcoal and a sledgehammer!
Forger from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
@@erikdavidantonio5368 heyyyy who invented Forging....bingo
Anyone, Any Style from ANYWHERE CAN DO IT.....NO JUDGEMENT NEEDED, Carry ON AND DO YOU
This wont save that movie, it wasnt that good at all
Beautiful work! I think this one is your best work yet. Combining so many different skills.
I'm agree with you, very cool blade! Bye bro.😉
I agree, Master piece, I wasn't expecting that finish when you were hammering the copper in. 👍
both of you are grand masters at what you do i truly enjoy watching both of you and think you deserve more subscribers. cant wait tell your next project.
You know you're proficient in your craft when, like, the Keanu Reeves of metalworking/machining himself shows up and praises your work.
Bro where have you been? We miss you!!
Some Norse swords were made by combining a hard and soft steel together like a laminated katana, but instead of wrapping it the Norse did it by welding a U shaped strip of hard steel around the a softer core billet so that when the billet was lengthened out the hard steel would form the perimeter of the blade as its cutting edge. This can also let you combine damascus patterns in two different directions.
Just when I thought it couldn't get any better you took the handle to the next level with all those wood and metal layers. Bravo sir! That is one hell of a cutting implement!
Just imagine in the old days master craftsmen did all this by hand. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Black Beard, that beautiful craftsmanship.
I enjoyed it from the hospital where i'm in.. your work remembered me the life outside there👍 thanks.
That's a beautiful weopon!! My goodness I'd show that to everyone 24/7!
Man, you have golden hands! Very beautiful!
Perhaps the most incredible thing you've ever made, sir. Truly impressed!

Amazing work!! Do you think you could put a timer on the screen when you are fast forwarding the video to show how long it actually takes?? Would be very interesting
Yes!
A clock in the background
Something I like in those craftmans/restorations videos, like BBP or MyMechanics, is their approach on loctite. When we, normal citizen, use loctite it's because we want to glue the shit of something together, to never move it again. Those guys instead just use loctite when they want something to stick for a while, nothing to crazy.
BTW, superbe job my man, as always. Your work is truly beautiful. Cheers.
That is absolutely spectacular.
Well done, Black Beard. Your skills keep getting better and better. So awesome to share with us. 🙏🏼🖤
Absolutely gorgeous

Wow, Sir! This is an excellent video. It combines multiple skills, all of which are performed at the level of a master. Thanks as always for sharing your work.
That is a sword worthy of a Viking king!
You are a real forger, congratulations on the magnificent work 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
beautiful workmanship
Fantastic blade! You truly are a Renaissance man
Wow! One of the best swords I’ve seen on anyone’s channel. Your craftsmanship is elite!
Top 3 entertainer on RUclips!
Sir you are an artist, it's a beautiful piece
Masterful sir, you’re blessed with skill.
Awesome work. Love this movie and the sword. An excellent replica. I can't imagine how much such a sword would have been worth back in the day. I took you quite a bit of time to make this one with modern tools, and techniques. Imagine making this back in the day when everything was forged, cut, chiseled, filed, and honed down to a fine polish by hand. No wonder the sword was found in the long ship in a burial mound. Such an honor would have be reserved to only someone who had the status to be there and such a man would have had a sword like that.
Absolutely beautiful !! They should be totally proud to have you replicate this sword it turned out wonderfully !! I think it is a work of art !! 👍👍
Awesome build.
what a mighty fine sword. Nice work.
Wow, bravo! That might be the most refined piece I've watched you make. So good!
Gorgeous!

honestly mate, that is a truly nice looking sword. awesome craftsmanship.
Really incredible. I think this is the finest work you’ve posted. Congratulations of an extremely well done piece.
In this world of mass produced knock-offs, it’s truly inspiring to see a real craftsman at work.
I think the enemy will take one look, and faint from the beauty of the sword.
My heavens! That is truly LAGIT...! Excellent workman ship.
I'll take 3 of them....😁
A WICKED BAD ASS COOL SWORD
This piece is immaculate, well done.
Absolutely gorgeous !!! Blacksmithing is an art. Respect Sir 👍
That's a beautiful sword brother
Wow spectacular and beautiful. Phenomenal work.
Wow, you got a compliment from My Mechanics! Nuf said! And… mic drop. Seriously, I was scrolling through RUclips when I saw your sword. I looked closer and thought, is that really Damascus?! Then I saw that it was your channel and my mind was blown. I was thrilled when the video started out with you showing 2 types of steel, then cutting them into multiple strips of equal length. I thought, wow, Black Beard is really branching out, buying more tools, and learning new skills. I was almost giddy watching you blacksmithing! You’re amazing, and I might even subscribe after all these years 🤣. Bravo sir!
Ahah! Thanks!!! Glad to have you on board at the end :)
