I haven’t heard the mirrors edge theme for so many years, that takes me back. This game was a firm favourite back in the day, although I was never good enough to conquer the time trials, but getting the giant rat Easter egg was always fun!
@Abraham Johnathan nothing in the game looks awful, especially not the textures. I don’t care if I can count the hairs on the face of an NPC when the world and its textures still look great.
Portal actually was what got me into Mirror's Edge! When 10 year old me would look up Still Alive this Mirror's Edge thing would show up. Wasn't that game bad, or something? Didn't really care. Late 2023, I'm 15 now, and randomly got interested in ME. I look at screenshots and absolutely fall in love. See people saying it's delisted/will be, have a panic attack. Decide that I want to play the game, but am not sure on where to get it from. Cue new year and my dad and I have driven off to Helsinki. I check out the game store and look at the 360 section hoping for something. Then I see it. 30% off. Poor game was being sold for 2 euros. No one bought it. We arrive home and first thing I do is pop the disk into my Xbox. I beat the game about a month later. School was being mean so I didn't have much time. The ending left me completely speechless. It's my favourite game now :) it's an absolute masterpiece and I am so pissed off at critics for slamming it

First was great, especially for release time, and also had pretty good physX showcase, even tho my pc could not handle it
The free running experience is something else in catalyst. I love the first mirror's edge, but I just finished my gameplay of the catalyst and it is just so good.
the opening theme of mirrors edge is always something I'll drop the remote to, enjoy the view and just bump; sound design in this series in general is really immersive, and it's making me want to go back and re-100% Catalyst
Some of the trials were tricky, but I kid you not, I had to do every trial with 3 stars TWICE lol. When I first got the platinum, I havent used PS+ and my ps3 died. Years later when I started to clean up older games and complete DLC for 100% completion, I had to start from a new save file. and for DLC trophies to unlock you had to reach a number of stars that were impossible without having the base game trials done. So I had to do like 75% of the trials from the base game again, then complete DLC trials, to unlock the final DLC trophies.
This is the best channel I found in 2022. A good narrator with a nice voice to listen to with good editing and great content. Everytime a new video drops I know that I have a good 20-30 min enjoying the video.
If you loved this type of game, I recommend the dying light series. It’s a parkour survival horror that allows you to run on rooftops and parkour pass multiple threats. You go through your skill tree as you unlock more parkour and survival abilities.
As a person who speedruns this, you explain the lore and the contents of the story very well. Much better than most! ❤❤❤ congratulations on the achievement grind.

I never was good at this game, never even compelted it. But i do still remember everything i managed to do. Good job my dude, hopefully you'll get to Cataclysm, as, personally, i liked it more due to it being a legit city running thing, to an extent.

i loved mirror’s edge and all of its easter eggs like in the mission that you are required to shoot kate’s police truck, if you shoot one of the dots on the billboard beforehand, a giant rat the size of a school bus runs through the area 😂
I've just found you in the recent couple days, this game is an absolutely amazing throwback that I remember fondly. While binge watching your videos and reaching an abrupt end, I was extremely shocked I wasnt watch a channel with millions of subs that's been around for ages.
Your contest is absolutely bonkers and I love it, I've fallen into a "gaming rut" and have been stuck just playing a game and uninstalling it two days later. To be honest I've always looked over achievements as just a corporate mechanic to keep people stuck on the same title. No idea that some of these are really in depth and extremely challenging, for me the challenge raised with the way I looked at dishonored titles and play much like your younger self just running and gunning getting frustrated when it didnt work. But holy cow was that clean hands so gosh dang rewarding. Sorry this is so long but man, thank you. Thank you a lot, I really really hope your channel takes off. Creative as heck and people should see it.
I also was a fan of Rey Mysterio.. I did start watching during his time as world heavyweight and DX so it might have influenced my decision as a child.

Love the chapter 9 dedication here. Everyone hates chapter 9. The elevator up to the server room always made me so nervous. This was the first game I ever got all the achievements for and I have tons of great memories from it

Man, this was my favourite game of my childhood and I remember the struggle of the chapter 9 speedrun, and the beauty of the 'Still Alive' theme song. I recommend playing Mirror's Edge Catalyst as it is also a banger of a game!

You don't absolutely have to do this, but i would love a '2nd' channel where you post the videos in its entirety so we can follow you from 1st second to your last breath when you are done with the game! it would be an awesome background video / noise machine!
I did all of the achievements in Mirror's Edge about a month ago and god was it awful. The time trials are just brutal with how precise you have to be with them. I'm not sure but I think the PC may have some tweaks to it to make it play better. I noticed some things are easier to climb on PC than they are on 360 for whatever reason. Catalyst wasn't nearly as frustrating which was nice.
I have to say: I just stumbled onto your channel. And just the way you structure your videos and the combination with your style etc are amazing. I think I have watched every video twice already, thats how much fun I have watching your videos. :D
I’ve never played the original, but Catalyst still holds a place in my top 10. So if the trials don’t leave you too broken, I can’t wait to see you going for it’s achievements next.
I'd forgotten just how much I liked the simple and stylish look of this game. Even now, fourteen years later it looks great. I never managed to get all of the speedrun achievements, I never even tried for the time trials.
I may not have played Mirror's Edge.... but I have to respect it for what it did. Basically create the Parkour games genre. Yes, I am aware Assassin's Creed released a year earlier but it was still more of a Stealth and Combat game than Parkour.
my only complaint about Tintanfall 2 is how short it is. i absolutely loved the game, but i literally finished the campaign in one afternoon, and i was in no way trying to go fast or speed through any of the levels.
One of the best soundtracks of all time. I somehow did hardest difficulty and no weapons at the same time… not sure what made me torture myself but I remember doing it all in one weekend.

Dude, I'm playing through this game right now. And I so much relate to what you explained. I even had the same experience with the chapter 9 speedrun having something like 40 seconds left on the clock after clearing the server room and then messing every attempt up. That because on the first attempt I actually successfully kicked Jacknife off the helicopter but I died at the same time so it didn't count. This made me so nervous that I messed up every other attempt. Luckily I made it at a later point. Now I'm struggling through the time trials. This is just horror.

the "room with scafoldings" was my absolute favourite because the main theme played as you went through it.

I love the first game but didn’t find the second part appealing. Didn’t even finish it whereas I played the first part countless times.
the added on subtitles really do make this even better than it'd be, it helps non americans & people with hearing impairments, so pretty cool
