Funny story. I was probably given steroids as a junior cyclist (we all got shots that we did not know what it was, we were told they were vitamins) but then I got in a big crash, had head trauma and a concussion and either from that or the high dosages of anti-seizure drugs I took for years afterwards, destroyed my pituitary gland and I stopped growing at the age of 15. Now, at 44 yo, I'm finally about to start taking growth hormone, prescribed by my endocrinologist, although I'm fully aware I'm not going to get taller... that ship has passed. :) I'm 5'5" and I should be at least 5'9".

I used to be a competitive gymnast throughout the 1990s and instead of bulking up the ideal was to stay thin and as prepubescent as possible. I, and a few other girls used ephedra to keep our weight down while keeping our energy and endurance going through the long training hours which at that time was 6-8 hours. Mind you I was 12 when I began this training regimen.

He is one of the best videos you guys have ever done. I love the old-school lists and everything that kind of got you started, but I love the long-term content. You did such a good job man. Cheers!
Also, I think they just allow it. Fuck it have an enhanced division and a non-enhanced division. I know it’ll never happen, but I’m all for physiological improvement even if it’s super physiological. I think these are amazing and they never been in 70s and 80s the types of performance enhancers we would have today I think the research that start up again and we should see the limits that we can push the human body and the more research the more development the safer the substances could become. It’s just a matter of actually doing it.
And on the weight, cutting conversation first off the person who said to do it the day of the fight that is a dumb suggestion. It would be constantly getting hurt from dry joints. People could die dehydrated like that for 15 minutes that’s a terrible suggestion. I think they should be cutting out should not be allowed. That’s the only way to fix that issue. It’s just it outright people are still gonna try to do it and you know I don’t watch your whole video on it and I don’t know how developed these hydration test but it’s easy to tell if someone cuts weight and then blows back up the day you know the day of the fight. It would also be as simple as doing your way in and then right before the flight weighing them again and making sure that they didn’t pack on a bunch of weight, but they didn’t do a weight cut. Again I think you should ban it. There’s no reason that a guy competing at 185 should be stepping in there at over 200lbs On fight day. The weight bully exist for a reason. I don’t think it’s very sporting and I hope they do away with it one day Joe Rogan agrees with me lol yeah that’s my two cents.

As someone who used test in the past, I will always have the same opinion. In competitive sports, people want to see humans at their peak in their specific sports and as long there will be fame and lots of money attached, they will NEVER go away. Thinking that is pure foolishness. So let these people do what they need to do. They know the risks in this modern age and should before doing it. But at the same time, people who never used it have a skewed understanding of it. People can be on steroids and still be fat. You still need a lot of hard work to let the enhancements shine through and push you to that next level. You can inject 1000mg of test a week but if you eat McDonalds 5 times a week it will not even show it. So it is a shame that people are stripped of their titles they worked hard to earn. At the end of the day, it is a competition between people or teams. And people will always look for an edge. So let them become monsters in their own right if they choose to.

He saw what the Germans were using and noticed that it helped with the breaking down of muscles and rejuvenating them more quickly. He brought it back to the states and started administering them to the weightlifting team in the Melbourne Olympics which he was a coach on. Afterwards, he worked with the LSU football team helping them win the 1958 National Championship and then started working for the Los Angeles Chargers of the AFL introducing steroids to the players then.

Excellent video! My issue with steroids is not of its actual use, I think really anyone has the right to use the drugs they want for themselves.
The issue is that because of the enhancements it basically forces people who wouldn't use them to have to, to stay competitive.
And in a career where your value is based on your physical performance being better than others kind forces steroid adoption.
I would think the only solution is to have seperate leagues in sports for those that do or do not use steroids. Like in body building where you have "natty" competitions.
You'll still have cheaters but at least there will be an option to do it overtly. But the contradictory relationship America has with drugs won't let that happen.
We want athletes, actors, performers, etc to do things that are above what people naturally are capable of without chemical assistance but somehow also want them to be clean for some nebulas morality.
