    Prayer is my most effective self care method when I feel like I’m too weighed down. Naturally speaking-food and quiet time.

    Favorite self care tip is to go set in front of the ocean or a lake somewhere. Even though that’s super easy for me to do being that I live on the coast. I still have to force myself to get in the car and actually go. Looking at the water and reflecting on all that you are blessed to have will create gratitude and stress and gratitude can’t co-exist. In your case you live within driving distance of some mountains, go either walk up them or sit by them. You need a “real” break from the everyday routine. I clicked on this video and it said 37s that’s a record for me. You have given a lot of us great content now it’s Monica’s turn to feel some real stress free joy. Do yourself a favor and put yourself first if only for a weekend you deserve it then make a plan to do a getaway once a month even if it’s a short distance. Explore a new town even if it’s by yourself. I find new places to eat no matter where they are and go. Homegirl, little sister, cousin and friend in my head be blessed. 💜💜💜

    Lighting candles, reading a book. Watching a good show with someone else. I tend to talk when something is happening on a show. It’s nice having someone to share to commentary with. Whatever is stressing you, put it away. Even just laying down quietly and blocking the outside world for 20-30 minutes is great

    My favorite self care is bubble bath with a donut or cupcake scented candle and listening to soothing soft rock or reggae. 😊 Going for a walk in the afternoon and having a bubble bath is a real game changer. I’ve been stressing these days too and I’m considering going back to my safe space in relaxation.

    • @AllThingsMoElle
      @AllThingsMoElle  9 месяцев назад +1

      I’m glad to know I’m not the only one struggling! Bubble baths are so relaxing and I need to do better with taking the time for them, I have a huge tub with one of those little wooden trays for ambiance that I’ve used maybe twice in the 3 years I’ve had it 🥴😂

    Ugh sending you a huge hug! I mostly protective style. I learned over the past couple years that I have to trust my stylist with my trims much more often. She has been cutting off my damage over time and now wash day is easy. I had no idea that my raggedy ends were making just washing and blow drying hard. Unfortunately, I’m the queen of protective styling and went several times 6 months between trims and lost my progress because I needed more off. But in the new year, I’m trying to follow my stylist advice which is a trim every 8 weeks. We have a very similar curl pattern and my hair split up the ends during the pandemic because I was wearing it out and curly a thousand times more than usual. Unfortunately, I haven’t figured out how to wear my hair out and frequently manipulate it either. So I’m avoiding that now that I’ve cut off the pandemic damage. My plan is wear protective style for no more thank 6-7 weeks. Get silk press and trim. Repeat all 2024. I don’t trust cutting my hair unless it’s silk pressed. So we will see. Anyway back to you… you got this!

    • @AllThingsMoElle
      @AllThingsMoElle  7 месяцев назад

      Hey Monica!! I totally get it and I’m pretty much doing the same thing for the first part of 2024. I’m going to keep it tucked away until it’s time for another trim, then silk press and tuck it back away once the style gets old. I’ll probably do that until the weather warms back up! Thank you for sharing and for being so encouraging! 🤍

    Sounds like we've been on the same page as far as both diet & hydration go...
    I'm ashamed to think of how many meals I've skipped recently or the number of times I chose coffee over water. 🤦🏾‍♀️
    But I'm working on turning that around too 👍🏽 Things that help me handle stress: quiet time, writing, dancing when no one's around lol, long drives, & lately a weekly Zumba class. Taking in whatever is going on around me and doing my best to give it to God. 💯
    Be it personal, local, national, global... there's a lot going on. Only God can help me discern between what is/isn't my battle.
    Best wishes on your journey, you got this 💕

    We all struggle with consistency. It manifests in our bodies and notice it in our hair especially.
    My self care is to drink water, I drink it straight out of the pack so that my mind doesn’t think it has to be refrigerated. Allow yourself to sit still and just listen to the quiet and center yourself. No tv, phone, or anything, just silence. It helps.

    Hey Beauty!!! Im sorry you’re experiencing a hair setback! Your new cute is gorgeous though!!! 😍😍😍
    P.S My favourite self care tip is to get massages! I try to get monthly massages and they’ve made the world of a difference for my stress levels in life. Sometimes I go more frequently than once per month too. This is a non-negotiable in my self care journey and routine. I highly recommend it if you can and haven’t tried it already! 💛

    My setback was not wearing my hair stretched. I used to be a straight hair natural and my length retention was amazing! Then I fell in love with my natural curls and did a big chop.
    Since that big chop I’ve been wearing my hair curly but I didn’t know that was a bad thing and it caused me MAJOR single strand knots. Every 3 months I get at least an inch of single strand knots which slows down my hair growth journey 😢💔 So even though I hate stretching my hair, from now on till my hair length goal I’ll be stretching my hair with roller sets.

    • @AllThingsMoElle
      @AllThingsMoElle  9 месяцев назад +1

      Those single strand knots are the devil! I definitely slowed down on wash n gos when I noticed the amount of knots I was getting, and I also don't wear the style for as long as I used to before wash day. Only wearing my curls for a week at a time, and only in the hot months, has helped tremendously!
