Thank you for sharing! I eventually plan on sharing our home video of Rocky Point, 1984. Some clips of rides from our video was used in the documentary film, "You must be this tall". This documentary is now on RUclips.
I remember the smell of clam cakes and chowder! The musty odor of the House Of Horrors, The dragon on the roof with a head and leg in its claws! The Corkscrew and things too numerous. The memories will never fade.
I remember going too rocky point park on either Thursday nights witch were 92 pro fm nights or Friday nights when it was why nights and by the way the concerts were fucking awesome such good times rocky point park will surely be missed
I remember hearing that Rocky Point was going to close down for good ,so my sister Monique & I went there for one last time with her 3 kids Anthony ,Matt &Jacqueline and we got their delicious chowder &clam cakes &since &we got some 🎟 for the rides & after the tickets were gone the people operating the rides let us go on for free until we were done this park is a great memory thank you
I remember the House of Horror and how scary it was as a kid. But there was a wooden roller coaster next to it where I almost died. The bar that comes down and locks you in didn't lock in place and popped up. Before I knew it we were off, a boy next to me saw what was happening and held on to me for dear life as I wrapped my arms around the loose bar. I could've died that day but survived and I'm still here... That boy is now a man, if you're watching this and remember, you know.
I miss Rocy point park let's do the right thing and bring it back and let's bring back kids Blair show boat in Coventry Rhode island my family own it back in 1938 and we had a fire in 1976 and my dad was the Cook.
So many things here that would not pass today- chain link fences people can climb on, a broken flume, areas with no rails. But I remember it fondly. Than living in other areas with huge amusement parks (6 Flags, Hershey, Bush Gardens) makes this look more like a temporary carnavel parking lot fixation more than the great place that I remember as a kid. How it looks now is so nice. They did a great job removing all that concrete and dilapated buildings to put in a nice scenic park. So much better.
Thank you for this!
Awesome memories

My Childhood 😢😢😢
I seem to remember that old wooden coaster was way scarier than the Corkscrew! The Corkscrew was solid and didn't sway and creak!

Every year the Pfizer employee picnic was there...everything was free....What a great time
Man, what a great time to be alive! No 24/7 politics and bullshit, people got along for the most part, life was so simple and easy...
What a trip! It's been 40 years since I was there as a kid.....Gosh I miss this place.
