Met zijn perfecte personificatie van Frank Sinatra, kroonde hij zich in 1986 tot de onbetwiste winnaar van de ´Soundmixshow´. 
Bijna 8 miljoen kijkers waren getuige van een unieke performance, die hij vanaf dat moment nog ontelbare keren zou opvoeren. Peter Douglas was geboren ! 
De ongekende niet te evenaren vocale gelijkenis tussen Douglas en Sinatra werd het gesprek van de dag en spreekt, anno vandaag, nog steeds tot de verbeelding. 
Zijn wereldhit ´Stars On Frankie´, bracht hem van New York tot Tokio en alle windstreken daartussen. Zo raakten ook België en Duitsland in de ban van de ´New Blue Eyes´. 
Het ´Knokke Star Festival´ roemde hem om zijn vocale kwaliteiten en stijlvolle presentatie en onze oosterburen zaten aan de buis gekluisterd bij zijn gastoptredens in de televisieshows van Rudy Carell, Harald Junke en Carl Dahl. 
Zijn album Just Swing, waarop het nummer  "Thank You Frank" welke hij samen schreef met wijlen componiste Lucy Steymel, bracht hem dichterbij de Sinatra familie. Op de 81ste verjaardag van The Voice bracht hij deze eigen gecomponeerde song ten gehore.
2019 kwam Peter Douglas met zijn single "Fly Me Through The Years" die hij samen met Ralph van Manen - Bruce R.F. Smith  schreef.  Jan Wessels tekende voor het geweldige arrangement.
In 2020 is de single 5 Star Man een feit. Deze song schreef Peter samen met Eddie Conard toen zij 25 jaar geleden optraden op een gala in het prachtige Steigenberger Hotel La Canaria op het zonnige eiland Gran Canaria. Ook weer een mooi document wat uiteraard op het komende album zal verschijnen.
Peter: "Ik ben zo dankbaar dat ik na al die jaren nog steeds mijn stem mag laten horen aan het publiek. Deze nieuwe song is een Peter Douglas song maar uiteraard wel met een knipoog naar waar het allemaal begonnen is."
Medio 2022 zal het volledige album "Fly me through the years verschijnen waarop diverse pareltjes en een paar nieuwe stukken.

The unparalleled vocal similarity between Douglas and Sinatra became the talk of the day and still captures the popular imagination.
His world-wide hit, 'Stars On Frankie', took him from New York to Tokyo and all corners of the world. In this way, Belgium and Germany also fell under the spell of the 'New Blue Eyes'.
The Knokke Star Festival praised him for his vocal qualities and stylish presentation and our eastern neighbors were glued to his guest appearances on the television shows of Rudy Carell, Harald Junke and Carl Dahl.
His album: ‘Just Swing’, which included the song, "Thank You Frank", which he co-wrote with the late composer, Lucy Steymel, brought him closer to the Sinatra family. On the 81st birthday of ‘The Voice’, he performed this self-composed song.
In 2019, Peter Douglas released his single, "Fly Me Through The Years", co-written by himself, Bruce R. F. Smith & Ralph van Manen. Jan Wessels signed for the great arrangement.
