Love the van, concept and review. The suspension upgrade does not increase ground clearance. It's the larger tire. It seems like a nuanced thing but newcomers might get confused.
I think having a 4 x 4 is very useful even for those that don't go offroading. If they are traveling south of the boarder, many roads are very hard to travel for normal vans and getting stuck is almost a given. I know if I ever do a van build, I will make sure to have 4wd and a wince.
It's a myth that front loading fridges are inefficient due to the "cold air falling out", it's the temperature of the chilled goods inside that keep everything cool. It's the reason you don't freeze to death the second you walk outside on a cold day. The energy to cool any warm air that enters a front loading fridge is a simple calculation based on volume and is almost insignificant. On another note, sick van
Of course you can overland in a 4x4 van. The only thing 4WD van can not do is technical/extreme off-roading (rock crawling, steep sideslopes) because of their higher center of gravity.
Just for anyone else: the batteries in the back with exposed cabling and a bus bar, while it looks good, it's one of the most unsafe things to run when not covered or protected in any way. This is a disaster waiting to happen. This guy should have built a protective case or something similar for it.
Really cool van with some very clever designs, but, for me to be "comfortable", I need a shower and a toilet. I didn't see any accommodations for either. Did I miss something?
Tho not living full time in a van but spending weeks and months at a time on the road, a loo is essential, but u can get showers at lots of places or wash standing in a large folding bowl. At worst wet wipes can freshen your bits.
I've followed Chad for a number of years. Thanks for doing this interview and tour.
An exceptional interview , Thankyou ! Chad is one heck of a guy . His Alaska series is quite the experience ~peace~
Love the view of the five gigantic red Rock boulders when showing the USB storage, and charge area.
I've been watching Chad since 2012. Great adventures are a must.

Right! Such a sweet rig.
Wow, that's a really well-taught out 4x4 van, thanks for the tour.

LTVL what a brilliant channel
When do we get to see the New Zealand footage?
"A portable chainsaw"
😂😂
Bro, all chainsaws are portable

Possible to have a dual purpose design for
"Office on Wheels + Caravan" ?
Theres quite a few Europeans and a few US people in sprinter vans on the Pan American right now. They seem to be working fine for overlanding 🤷🏻♂️
What up Chad👋
Everybody love Chad
Bet he sleeps in a tent most the time. Leg cramp city. 25:01
For Rick-
He probly jumps in the river.
That's why he lives in a van down by the rvr. Ha!
Where do you shower? And where is the toilet?
Provision for a toilet is mentioned at 17:36...a Lugable Loo 5-gallon bucket system..

🤷🏼♂️ Nice! I suppose 🤔
Did he actually say "portable chain saw"?
And how many times did he say "nice"?
Which camera do you use?
Sony A7s
Your Morton truck has a locker rear end, where ever Chad can go, you can go better??? Do you have a winch? I can't remember..
Only lock on front end, 16.5k winch. He has a bit of an advantage with width and height, but otherwise yea we can get the same places.
The Shower and Bathroom 🤔🙄

I agree no comment was made on those facilities and he goes very off road so nothing would be available.
Not sure about a shower system but provision for a toilet is mentioned at 17:36...a Lugable Loo 5-gallon bucket system.
@@terrapod4898 that sounds wonderful. I guess I'm just not cut out for van life.

would you like to get a free led light bar ? For RV
Dream van pffff
One can overland with a bicycle and a tent.
It's just that y'all are in the wrong van, man.
If you gonna' go overland, what you want is a '75 Chevy van, cuz it's heavy suspenchun.
Like your phonetic fonetic spelling. We should all do that.
