That's nice. let's have death scenes in a Disney game where Tarzan gets dragged by a croc and then gets eaten, or when Terk falls and then crocs surround her and maul her. Thanks Disney!
Dude, you never actually get to see it. It's still more kid-friendly than what actually happened in the movie, where you saw the shadow of Clayton's lifeless body dangling from a rope to the neck.
SiefausOsna calling someone pussies is a harsh word. I hate that word sooooll much. Also I'm not butthurt I just don't think calling someone another name for vagina is very nice. Also I hate the other word "wuss". Being nice or afriad doesn't make you a "wuss" or "pussy" at all. Some folks just have greater fears than others. I'm sure you had a fear before, right? Also, maybe call us "soft?" But I'm not a vagina! Lol so yeah....
Here are all 10 "Game Over" lines, 5 from Kerchak: 1. "Your game is over. Next time, be more careful." 2. "Your game is over, Tarzan. Next time, be more careful." 3. "Your playtime is over. Recklessness like that will get someone killed." 4. "The jungle always claims those who don't learn how to survive." 5. "With skills like that, you'll never learn to be one of us." And 5 from Clayton: 1. "Game Over. Bye-bye to your little ape friends." 2. "Oh my, your game is over. Quite a pity." 3. "Alas, my boy, your little ape friends are mine. Ah HA HA HA HA!" 4. "I see all you've learned is how to lose. Ah HOO HOO HOO HOO!" 5. "HA HA HA HA! That's the end of your jungle adventures."
I always get major shivers down my spine whenever I hear the voice in the game over screen say your game is over tarzan, next time, be more careful. it sounds really haunting to me.
The swedish version was terrifying for me. It was a straight translation but the actor had a deep voice and he read it slowy and menacingly . Was a great motivator to not die in the game.
who is it? if it's noone in the game, then that's kinda freaky right? like who is this entity that has not only been watching tarzan, but you this whole time? and why is it so angry
Literally man like I say when I go here, this is just pure nostalgia, man. No one can ever compare the feelings you get from hearing that PS1 Intro, and remembering your childhood, and the good times. Still glad I still have mine and play on my PS1, and play till this day. Nothing will ever be like this, how I wish I could go back to the good old days. Take in next week on Tuesday the 19th of April, I'll be 20 for my birthday. How time flies honestly. Like literally hearing that chime, and sound it would make while loading up, with that iconic logo, and startup screen, and then hearing this game and movie's iconic soundtrack intro made by one of my favorite singers. What a throwback this is, and games todays don't hit like these games did. I'll never forget the final scene, or the stampede, and even fighting the leopard and what a throwback. Glad to still have my copy still, and my PS1, but if I could go back in time, I'd relive these memories, and this has to be my favorite game, movie, and soundtrack. I know for many this carried as well their childhoods, what a time it was again, for everyone that had a chance to experience this. As I write this, I was literally just playing this iconic game, trying to relive it. Man.
Amazing how this is a Disney game and yet a lot of these were actually pretty brutal (the crocodile dragging Tarzan's body away especially). Then again, I guess it's to be expected from a game based on the Disney movie where the villain accidentally hangs himself and you can see the shadow of his lifeless corpse.
you have more context as an adult. I never realised how many times i was watching women almost get raped in cartoons, i always thought the thugs just meant they were hungry or something
1:24 Crocodile 1: Guys, we need to survive. We need food! Terk: *screaming* *falls down* Crocodile 3: Hey guys look. There's some monkey meal left. All crocodiles: A free meal?! 😋😋😋😋😋 Let's go, everyone!
No kidding and one of them broke off from the rest and was like Crocodile 4: hey guys! I think theres something over here Other crocodiles: * ignore him * Crocodile 4: hey theres more over here plenty for all of us as a matter of fact; and it’s a human meal! Other crocodiles: * proceed to maul Turk. * Crocodile 4: wow this sure is a big meal! well I guess I can take it to go! And I’ll have leftovers for later too since I don’t have to share! 🐊 0:32
A kid dies in a Disney based game...That is a dark and mature move that Disney made. I can see kids having nightmares for a whole week about those scenes. It scared me as well. O____o

Next time, be more careful!
Allow me to make these game overs even more creepy: the jungle background is taken from the shot when Clayton falls to his death. Which makes his taunts even more ironic.
1:12 I bet I'll see that if I go exploring in a remote jungle. It makes me wonder if people see that in the jungles on a daily basis on a safari. :P 1:18 Clayton: HAHAHAHA! You got a game over Tarzan! It's TEABAG TIME! Oh by the way, your ape friends are now my bitches. (OH! THAT LOOKS WRONG!)
Some of these game over cutscenes could have been used as animated marketings promoting the movie at the time. You know funny animations like Frozen, Brave, Big Hero 6, Tangled and Moana had when promoting their movies
I never finished this game when I was little because I was scared of the first game over scene I got. It was on the first level playing as Adult Tarzan.
Kerchak: You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you? Also very surprised about the darkness of some of these scenes (especially the crocodile one) considering how they always censor out Clayton's death in the film.
Recuerdo que con cada Game over de estos juegos rpg de los 90 me daba parálisis de sueño a los 7 o 9 porque no sabía controlarme y peor con traumas como este, hasta no podía dormir 🥵💅
I just relieased how creepy these were. Actually now that I think about it a lot of stuff I saw in media as a kid didn't scare me then but gives me the creeps now.
The death where the crocodile dragged Tarzan's dead body to later consume him always creeped me out the most.
same! I thought it was just wrong!
So is Terk falling in the pit where the crocodiles are at...
Or when Tarzan is unconscience and being surrounded by the crew
Or where Young Tarzen is surrounded by a bunch of butterflies while he's dead from the neck up...
Or Tarzen falling to his doom while Jane just said "Oh Well!".
For a kids game, this is very...dark.
The Heart of Darkness says hi.
Nobody cares
Well shit.
it a rainforest wtf do you expect from a dark place?
Yeah
I swear I cried with those "Game Over" animations
Me too bro, me too. It gave me game-over-phobia.

Yeah, I guess you're right. But you have to admit, it's still a little fucked up.

+Jeffrey Meredith Clayton's fourth line literally got stuck in my head since the first time I heard it. Nice way to taunt (young) players!
Jeffrey Meredith Reminds me of those old Fallout game over messages.
Reminds me of Nasira's Revenge. Sad there's only one line on the screen.
They are really mocking us with their game over quotes
They creep me out!!!! The most creepy par is that these scenes are happening on a black screen
you are România

01:11 Is... Is Jane freaking that calm about Tarzan falling to his death. The bitch even HUMS at the end of the sequence!
AestheticCitrus I know a new game over scene: Jane getting eaten by a python.
Oh I'm sure he landed on a branch offscreen below them, that's why she hummed casusally.
1:12
Tarzan: Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh *dies*
Jane: Oh....lol
those gangsters, those gators. this definitely isn't Disney friendly...
This is nightmare fuel right here... I don't know how this kind of "Game Over" even passed in the first place.
Wow, these are actually pretty fucking grim. Especially when he's just a kid.
Tarzan: AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!
Jane: (Floats on parasol) O well.
01:00 BRAZZERS. This game over and mortal kombat 4 death pit were the traumas of my childhood
Wow... We had similar childhood traumas hehe...

Tarzan chicken, anyone?
I wonder what that baboon is gonna do to Tarzan after he dies. Or those ship thugs with their cleavers and machetes.
Love how the girl floats down on the umbrella while Tarzan falls to his doom. Classic.

terks GO screen sure makes no sense, considering there were no crocodiles anywhere in that level
And also, there are no bottomless pits in that level, and yet Terk is falling in her game over screen.
Maybe is unused

This is the PS1 version of the game over screen. PC version has different one.
The entire compilation is creepy, but there's something about that hair pulling that makes me laugh.
These freaked me out as a kid.
This is basically a kiddie version of Resident Evil 2 death screens
The first few seconds spooked me, I have to admit; I expected the video to start with gameplay footage, not with the screens right away! XD
