Hey man...very true. Its been a great time for simracers ever since Simbin released GTR 2 , you know what I'm saying but a lot of the younger people won't ..I bet.
Not fair. Reiza say that they have received a lot of support from SM throughout. Besides, with the next Madness Engine in developememt right now, what d'ya think Reiza will be using for AMS3?
@@Cagefighter No it is not, SM is doin´t all they can not even collecting their share for some time, and no matter how hard Reiza works if they weren´t able to use Mad engine probably they would be doing nothing since they don´t have the resources to build their own or pay to use any other.
Just because AMS2 is better than Project Cars 2, doesn't mean we have to give most credits to Reiza only. AMS2 is nothing without Madness Engine. SMS made the engine by scratch. As a software developer myself, i know abstractly how much difficult to build the game engine from zero. Even ACC is using an existing game engine which is Unreal Engine 4.
Great vid exploring the strengths of the game. I think you scored a tactical advantage over the AI with a little insider info on the weather. It left you out on your own at the front of your class for some time when the rest of the GTEs pitted to change tyres. It seems AI strategies for the moment go as far as 'automatic for weather' tyre selections. It would be great to see Reiza put some effort into this at some point in the future. Great attitude displayed while racing.

20:04 In Dutch we have a saying "Een ezel stoot zijn kop niet twee keer tegen dezelfde steen". The look, The sound, The feel and Tire Model on a wet track in the rain... Just Wonderful 🤌 Thanks for giving AMS2 the proper time behind the wheel Ermin 👍. Good Race
"for once in my life I've actually run a fuel calculation correctly!" yeah I know the feeling, figuring out how much fuel you're going to need for a timed race is pretty easy since AMS2 does the usual of displaying how many laps you get out X liters, unfortunately the 911 RSR GTE doesn't have mixture control or whatever it's called unlike the Corvette and the BMW, if it did you could stretch fuel quite a long way under the conditions you were throughout the night. plus running in lean out of corners in addition to a high TC setting would have made rear tyre temps at the beginning a non-issue, which funnily enough is the exact reason I think being able to bind buttons for TC, fuel mixture & now ERS deployment is an absolute must now with AMS2's latest update.
Epic video. Did you not damage the car when you hit the barrier? Or did you have damage off? And did you pit or does the time multiplier not affect the tires and fuel?
Nice to see this great pure racing action. And I have to state at this point something: Meanwhile I really hate that "this is the best sim. iRacing is better than this...bla bla." I am happy and enjoy all the sims out there. Literally all racing series are covered. Even Stadium Super Trucks in AMS 1.
So basically the whole GTE field failed to overtake a car on wets in dry conditions with a AMG GT3 car right in the middle of it. I think you should be able to turn them up to 200 :D

IMO, If you say FFB then it still is the Assetto Corsa, physics is still good. However the best physics I feel is ACC but its only GT3 exclusive(ya GT4 too) and FFB is decent as well. If you want an overall rounded package but with a bit of compromise here and there then definitely AMS2 or Raceroom. Both games are like improving drastically month on month. It is just matter of time they reach up there. Love those devs. I cant comment on RFactor2 or IRacing, never played them and I hate the subscription model of IRacing
Im glad AMS2 fixed the rain system in the madness engine among the rest. But, I dont like the 2D Rain Sprite splashes, they looks terrible. I felt in PC2 when the rain came it just turned into an ice skating rink whilst aquaplaning across the entire track.
I moved to ACC because there was pretty much none online activity. And now that there is some, it's all GT3. It's stupid because this game shines more in pretty much any other car class but people just want to drive GT3. I hope, and I have a feeling, that this is on the werge of exploding. People are slowly moving away from older sims like rFactor, AC etc. and what better option do they have? For offline racing AMS2 is really the best sim out there right now, there's not even competition.
multiclass racing with only 32 vehicles is a no go. Special in a Multiplayer event.and a lemans track. don't have to be real names or sponsors. I hope you can get it all together and it can be the best sim of all
32 is about how many cars were racing full time between DPI, LMP2, GTE, and GT3 in 2019, and the most recent two rounds with all classes both are tracks in AMS2, and neither even had 32 cars, so it's perfectly fine to have multiclass with that few cars. Not every multiclass sports car race is a major event, and neither of the first two rounds of the WEC season this year had more than 32 cars take the start
I feel like the only multiclass race you’ve ever watched is Le Mans. Most multiclass series don’t have nearly as many cars as you think. That being said, if Reiza wants to incorporate NASCAR as part of the American Oval DLC pack (which would be nice, but I’m more looking forward to historic IndyCar and CART,) then having 40 cars on track would be a lot better. However, PC2 also has a 32 AI maximum, so it may be related to the Madness Engine itself.
Mr. Sandwich, great video! I love this sim, it runs GREAT in VR! I'm currently addicted to the 911 GT1 98. Posting some world records. I'd love to race you one day. Like, Sub blah blah :)
Pretty much any sim except RaceRoom, NASCAR 2003 Season, GPL, and AMS1 despite none of those having rain. All other sims have an issue with AI being to afraid to overtake the player even when you’re going very slow (AC is notorious for it until the AI finally says “screw it” and passes you after a while, and it’s also one of rF2’s biggest issues with its AI.)
ams2 feels like you're driving on your suspension, iracing feels like you're on your chasis, rfactor2 feels like you're on your tires. Id like to see ams2 move more towards ffb feeling like it's on the road.
I feel like the GT3s are slightly too fast, especially the AMG GT3. The GTEs and GT3s are constantly mixing and that AMG even beats a lot of them. A GTE should lap a GT3 eventually, not be racing against it. Still really fun, but it is slightly annoying
Yeah, it’s the same issue that the GT3s in PC2, rF2 (initially), and AC have. GT3s in IMSA and other series where they’re a lower class, they’re BOP-ed to be slower. In GT3-only series however, they’re allowed to go much faster and can compete against and even outperform some GTE cars, and that’s how they’re represented in these sims unfortunately.
I found this other video on AI very interesting. I hope sims would try to implement machine learning AI instead of logic based AI or at least move towards it for the future.
