The Nazis were horrible human beings who actually enjoyed inflicting fear and pain in others. They ignored the rules of the Geneva Convention (as did the Japanese) and did the most horrid things to innocent civilians as well as the Allied soldiers. No worries though; that sniper is most likely long dead and rotting in the bowels of Hell right now...they all are. Millions of unnecessary deaths fought in an unnecessary war started by a psychotic madman who in the end unceremoniously committed suicide with his clueless, empty-headed mistress turned wife (bet that marriage was never consummated! Haha!) in a final act of cowardice and desperation. What that whole, awful saga said about humanity is just sad, pathetic and so painful that the scars it left on the world will never, ever fade. It leaves one feeling powerless, confused and angry at the pointlessness of it all. Humans will never learn from the mistakes of their progenitors and are doomed to repeat them until we annihilate ourselves out of existence.

    • @ellen2805

I tried looking it up and saw something about ravens and predators having a relationship like that on a dubious looking bird website. It cited a book called Mind of the Raven by Bernd Heinrich as offering "possible evidence" but also said it's not well documented. They thought that the book's explanation was more credible than ravens calling to warn people about nearby predators or being friendly woodland creatures for a distraught princess. No clue if the book or author are credible. The website didn't look reputable. Google says he's an award winning naturalist, professor emeritus, and biologist. Who knows.

About the story with the dog.
Last year, I lost both of my dogs that I had since I was very young (I’m now 22). One of them was an Australian Shepherd/border collie & she was an amazing beautiful dog who would have protected me for anything.
After losing my dogs, I told myself that I wouldn’t get another dog. However that story made me want to get one. I love the woods & a lot of times I feel myself getting paranoid at a certain point while alone in the woods. If I had a protective dog with me, the dog would be able to detect those situations before I could.

J J good idea since there’s such a crazy high rate of infectious ticks in my area, I’ll definitely look into it. I’m always very cautious when I’m outside around fields and foliage, the joint swelling and pain caused by the borrelia was absolutely horrible.

I love all your videos, with outdoors/woods/camping ones being my favorite. But this one… this video in particular was EXTREMELY well written. The twist ending with the guys in Scotland, the palpable fear and adrenaline I felt during Captain and his owners story, and the last one especially because I’ve done a lot of hiking around Pittsfield and western MA. These stories are exceptional among all of your really awesome videos. For years and years, before I found your channel and well before you started posting, I would spend HOURS and hours searching AskReddit for creepy threads. I am so grateful that an actual humans voice is reading these now on RUclips so I can listen while I do other stuff. My newest Reddit account is over 10 years old and my oldest is about 12 or 13. And I have to say, you’ve found the best stories on there and the way you read them is keeping me on the edge of my seat. Please don’t ever change the format of this channel.

Dogs Truly are "Mans Best Friend", to me, they're the Most Amazing of creatures. Their unconditional love, loyalty and sense of "duty" to their person and their "pack" (especially little people, or the old) is incredible to witness. My dogs are my Truest of Friends and Companions....and although it's Extremely Painful when you lose one, it's an honor to have been their person.
[I don't like the term owner, I don't "own" my dog. They're my dog and I'm their person. pretty simple.]
