I taught English in Russia for 5 years and only took the platzkart, even with a 40-hour journey from St. Petersburg to Krasnodar. For US viewers, it's kind of like a college dormitory on wheels.
Moscow IT worker here, main hobby is trekking new mountains in Russia once a year. I'm usually taking platzkart if it's not completely booked. Because being locked with 52 people is much more comfortable then being locked with 3 more or even 1. No one in platzkart is going to change air conditioning to full heat because they think their child is not warm enough in the middle of summer. Better then taking a plane because it's a great place to sleep overnight and wake up at your destination, saves time like instant teleportation. Yes I've tried all types of wagons. SW wagons were the worst experience because being treated like some king or ubermensh made me really shy, i'll better play table games with people from platzkart.
In modern Russia, since Soviet times, the difference between a "selo" and a "derevnya" is only in size: a "selo" is a big "derevnya". However, historically, the difference was clearer: a "derevnya" is a peasant settlement, and if a church is built in a "derevnya", then "derevnya" becomes a "selo".

Inexpensive public transport, safe movement on railways, free medicine, lack of support for bestiality, pederasty and pedophilia.. Russia is just terrible, what can I say.

Loud toilet flushing used to make me plug my ears and startle me as a child. The toilet flushing in the video with the caption "flushing from hell", was very nostalgic lol
Well, the toilet still looks a lot better than the one I had on my last night train by ÖBB (Austria). @catsapp Just don't generalize and speak for all Russians here. Most Russians have long figured out what's going on and know how things really are in the West. I used to travel with similar trains 35 years ago. I'd say that if it is the cheapest train, then its way better then how it was back then. And even back then I liked it. If you have to travel 2-3 days in such a train, you will get used to it like home :)

I wonder what other people thought about the girl on the train talking to herself all day in English? It looks quite a cool way to travel meeting other people for few days on a train.
That was interesting! I"m jealous your trains give you so much space and different types of seats. The train here in Canada that I take for a 3 hour ride is like airplane economy. They squash you into a small space and it's not even that fast for a new train. I barely have room to hold phone in front of me. 😂 I tried business class once and it wasn't much better than the cheapest. Still no lying down…

I enjoyed the video. Yes, it is a dining car. America used to have coast to coast train rides, but not in some decades. Almost everyone has a car, and a plane is faster too. I tried in the 70s to take a train from NYC to Nevada but I was told there were no more passenger trains to Nevada. Although I have (numerous times) taken an Amtrak train from NYC to Washington, DC it was much more comfortable to just drive one of my cars, so I no longer ride trains.

Feels a lot like the overnight Indian trains I took while I was in college. Cheap tickets, terrifying toilets, interesting co-passengers, packing hommade food to eat. Yours are definitely still better though lmao.
The experience that you had riding the train and Russia doesn't look that different from Amtrak here in the US. Perhaps the Russian trains and more reliable. Here in the US freight trains get priority over passenger trains which can sometimes mean unexpected delays during travel. Another apparent difference between the train you were riding an Amtrak is most Amtrak trains have a car on them that's called an observation car where the upper level is like a giant living room with large windows and couches and a lower level of the car is a cafe. The cafes are often cheaper than the dining cars on Amtrak. It was fun to see this video. Please keep the videos coming. I always enjoy watching your videos.

You have very good trains in Russia and really spacious trains, compared with other european countries. I travelled to Samara railway station few years ago and I have to say that it is a really impressive station and well organized . About the train toilets, have you ever used a british strain??
About train toilets: its okay, tbh. I still have a very vivid memory of travelling to summer camp in 2009 and having to flush the toilet and it just... opened up. Into the outside. You could see the tracks moving from the toilet hole. And it also smelled. So yeah.. plane-like modern toilets are much better than.. that. Even if they're noisy and scary.

I prefer trains to planes myself, but that is partly because i'm from a little country. Nice video! I've used to travel a lot in Russia by train, so i know what is this (weird) experience all about.
This is luxury compared to the U.S. Army Caboose in Frankfurt (21st replacement unit} Germany. We had no light, no toilet, no food, no water just air to breathe.
'Platzkart' is a nice German word. I have just realised that the Russian language uses a lot of German words, especially in the technical field.
@catsapp On the technical field Germans and Russians can work very well together, it just does not work on a political level.

Very nice video. Perhaps I will visit Russia someday and ride that same train.
I quite like trains too...have travelled on trains in Denmark, France, UK, Iraq!..Spain, Portugal, Japan. Nice to see a Russian train.
As always, a fun and interesting video! Thanks for all of hard work.
Lovely video ! I like your humour and your kindness.
Thanks for sharing. From beginning I always wanted to go to Europe but for an lower class Indian it's almost impossible. But these kind of videos gives me a imaginary life that I want.thanks.
Your cheapest train is equivalent to our VIP train. haha!
Really enjoyed this video. Loved the "does not fly, so does not fall."
Nesty: thank u so much for your vids! As I love Russian literature and its culture of course, I find these vlogs very interesting. And you are very funny and it is one of the characteristics of these vlogs that I love. My fav part: when you say at the end of the vids: "Paka Paka" I love it. Cheers from Argentina!! 😅 Sebastian
Hello ! Good video! You made sure you got plenty of food for the 2 days train trip 😅....❤
Moscow to St.Petersburg is the most popular! 😁😁
I took train from Ekaterinburg to Moscow once, i didnt know it was a two day journey.. i went into the train fat like Kim jun Un, but after two days, i came down as the Buddah! you could see my skeletons
Эм, запрещено снимать, вплодь до статьи-когда это стало запрещено?))))0)))
Спасибо за выпуск, вы молодец ❤
You have very good trains in Russia and really spacious trains, compared with other european countries. I travelled to Samara railway station few years ago and I have to say that it is a really impressive station and well organized . About the train toilets, have you ever used a british strain??
I decided to try some of those instant potatoes(UK)and i was very impressed. Thanks for the tip.
Спасибо за интересное видео Анастасия,вы самый красивый Агент❤
About train toilets: its okay, tbh. I still have a very vivid memory of travelling to summer camp in 2009 and having to flush the toilet and it just... opened up. Into the outside. You could see the tracks moving from the toilet hole. And it also smelled.
So yeah.. plane-like modern toilets are much better than.. that. Even if they're noisy and scary.
Nesty Deus te abençoe grandemente vc e alegre simpatica que traz alegria nos seu videos saudaçao do 🇧🇷 feliz natal🎄 um grande abraço legal seus videos mostrando o interior das cidades e viagens de trem fica com jesus
You’re too cute! Love your channel. And I’m old enough to be your grandfather. Stay safe!
Wow, very interesting. At first I thought it was strange to have a bed in the design of that train.
As I watched more, I thought it was a great idea to be able to sleep while travelling long distance.
I hope security of your personal items is safe from theft.
I love your humour and videos.
Thank u for your comment ❤️ Since there is a cameras in the train, conductor, train police and people who can’t leave until the destination point, everything is safe :) But ofc we need to be carefully with security of our staff 🌝
I'm from Moscow and we call this train food instant noodles, but not spaghetti or "bshka". We have a funny special word for it - doshik.
I prefer trains to planes myself, but that is partly because i'm from a little country. Nice video! I've used to travel a lot in Russia by train, so i know what is this (weird) experience all about.
So cool! Thank u so much for your comment ❤️🥰
I loved travelling by Russian trains! It’s fun, an adventure and I usually met interesting people. It’s a very sociable experience.
Brilliant as ever. Thanks!
Не устану повторять: спасибо за контент!

@@АзсъмАлександр actually this is true . how barbarian can be a human being.
This is luxury compared to the U.S. Army Caboose in Frankfurt (21st replacement unit} Germany. We had no light, no toilet, no food, no water just air to breathe.
