      @@tenfitmentennisimpulse Milan that was some outstanding serving under really intense pressure - I think even greater than match pressure - because he's your hero and number 1 in the world. And that was a super informative coaching video too. Fascinating insights. Take a bow!

      Thanks so much Danny for all the kind words and support. I am so glad that you can somewhat understand this situation. You are right, there is a lot of pressure but that makes it much more special and exciting. Then after, when you've done it, you feel amazing and confident that you can do anything. As in any situation when you face discomfort, you grow. Really glad that you find this video informative and helpful. Please if you can, share it with few friends who would also like to watch it and learn something from it. Thanks again!

      Thanks Ian for your super kind words. You are absolutely correct, this is not so much about talent but about working on your craft for decades. I used to serve 1h a day at least, for years. Without exaggeration, it was just part of my regular day. Even now when I started coaching, I get the basket of balls and do 100-150 serves few times a week. It's a must if you want to keep the consistency and precision of your serve. Please if you can, share this video with few friends who might also like to watch it, it would mean a lot. Thanks again!

      Thanks Sam for the comment and for sharing your opinion. I agree with you. Nole, same as most of these top players, goes to a whole another level when in the match. All of his senses get sharper and definitely he has to anticipate a serve direction a lot of time. Another thing here that can play a role is that sometimes these guys start reading each other more by time, since they play each other so many times. And here, it was the first time Nole received my serves since we were juniors :)

    Very good video. Just when you comments the Djokovic's return : "Solid serve, Nole did great on this return", it's normal because before, he asked to the server to serve on the T, so he anticipates the serve ! You can see Djokovic who directs his split step on the left by anticipation so eventually he got the return more easily. Whatever, thanks for your vidéo.

    Awesome footage! Just want to put out there that no matter how impressive your split step is or your timing on the stroke, you won’t get balls back like Nole can. The reason his balls are 0 effort is due to his 370 swing weight frame combined with his technique and preparation on the return. Racquet will do 99% of the work if you can get the footwork down.

    • @tenfitmentennisimpulse
      @tenfitmentennisimpulse  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks Sandeep for your thorough comment and very interesting insight. I think you made a very good point. Racquet and swing weight play a significant role in hitting effortless shots, but ONLY when done in a perfect way and timing. Split step is a MUST of course. In the end, you need to add all these "details" and then on top of all that, your anticipation and reaction need to be like from another planet. Then, sometimes, maybe, you will be able to return Anderson's or Isner's serve!

    Great video and even greater serve(s)!! One thing I notice in your serve is that the racket face is "open" during the racket drop while other coaches / channels suggest that it should align with the back. Getting this alignment itself seems to be a big routine and while seeing you serve so well, I am wondering if we should go straight from trophy position to the racket drop instead of trying to align it with the back during the racket drop. What do you suggest?

    • @tenfitmentennisimpulse
      @tenfitmentennisimpulse  5 лет назад

      Thanks so much for your comment and great observation. I am so happy you like the video, please if you can, share it with few friends. Not sure if you've seen my serve in other videos with slow motions, but if you didn't that means you have an amazing eye for this! Yes, I don't have a perfect racquet drop but as you've put it well, it doesn't seem to affect my serve so much. I've analyzed this a lot and compared my service motion with the best servers out there since I am trying to improve it more. I've noticed that many super servers have similar racquet drop. Check Andy Roddick for example. Or even Roger Federer: he doesn't align the racquet completely with back. For these reasons, I don't think it's so important but it can still help with the speed of your swing. The thing I consider more important here is to have racquet come close to your head as you starting to drop it. This is the common thing for all the servers and it's something I am working on it now. It's replicating the throwing motion and also helps a lot with generating the most effective whip action and therefore speed of the serve. Hope this makes sense!

      He might get into deep trouble. Maybe the N.D team don't want ro release information in public regarding their client's tennis techniques, training and private talks.
      I think he should do the right thing and inform the ND team of the unauthorised release of information regarding Novak Djokovic's training regime and ask permission.
      I'm sure that they will not grant him permission to do that.

    This coach is clueless, the reason why Novak was so far away from this serve 1:46 is because he made his split step in diagonal towards the green box instead of towards the server. It's exactly the opposite at 5:50, he anticipates 3 times in a row by making his split step towards the left. The real question is, did he do it consciously or was it just a mistake? Did he deliberately make a mistake to see if the coach would see it?
    Whatever the fuck it is, the coach in this video is not helping at all.

    • @tenfitmentennisimpulse
      @tenfitmentennisimpulse  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks for the comment. Partially you are right. The difference in those moments is that at 1:46 Nole doesn't know the direction of the serve, whereas at 5:50 he asks me to serve down the T. Definitely the split step towards the target helps. Regarding Vajda, as one of the best coaches out there, I am sure he knows what he is doing. Even though some things he said here were not 100% "right", I am sure that he knows that what he said would make Nole alert and more focused on the most important elements of the return. In my opinion, at this level, coaching the best in the world usually works like this.

      @@tenfitmentennisimpulse The fact that he asked you to serve to the middle makes the exercise completely useless, it's not a challenge if he knows where the serve is coming.
      Now about the coach, I will go up to say that in this particular intervention 1:46, he was not only wrong but harmful to Novak, let me explain. After saying something completely wrong, Novak is offended (as he should be), that's why he laughs, but the coach doesn't even give a shit about this reaction, in his very small brain he's right, and he keeps going in that wrong direction. At 2:20 he impersonates what he thinks he saw, pretty much calling Novak lazy in body language. It's not a respectful conversation between 2 equals, it's a monologue from the coach who thinks he's right.
      Novak was very nice to him here, if I was in his shoes, I would never want to be coached by this guy again.

    • @ManBearPig14
      @ManBearPig14 5 лет назад

      @@tenfitmentennisimpulse I'd like to add a point though, just for you. The reason why Novak said ''Why am I so far away?'' at 1:50 instead of ''Why didn't I return the serve?'' is because he knows that the serve was not returnable without anticipation.
      Great serve dude :)
