Devvon I've been mixing for a good 6 months now and I have a method of balancing the amount of time I spend watching/passive learning vs. the amount of time I spend actually mixing/active learning. I watch a TON of different tutorials but 90% of the time yours are the most helpful. Always clear and concise, but packed with a ton of valuable knowledge. Thanks for all your hard work man it's appreciated! I been checking out your tracks on streaming services too bro, Stay Up!!!
It all depends, if you have a mono recording that your mixing, you use mono plug ins. If you have a stereo recording then you use stereo plug ins. You could use stereo plug ins on a mono recording when you have a send(reverb, delay, so on)
When creating a Bus for an effect or whatever it's always stereo unless you are doing parallel compression then I would use a mono bus, but the thing I think you don't understand about mono and stereo, is that a stereo track is 2 tracks that are recorded with some slight differences I.e an acoustic guitar can have 2 microphones recording and each one aimed a different spot and one mic panned Hard Left and another Hard Right, recording vocals you always use One Mic, so the track is always gonna be mono so always use mono plugins, and a mono signal will sound centered so if you out a mono to stereo plugin it will process the left channel and right channel a bit differently to make it sound like it's wider and recorded as a stereo track with two microphones
love watching your videos man. been mixing since 2012, i learned so much more on the mastering side from you. thank you. not even gonna lie i have industry quality with so little just waves, fabfilter and protools
Been watching you for a few years now and have learned basically everything I know about mixing music because of you. You've given artist the power to get the sound they long for and not have to wait or put faith in another engineer. You deserve some type of special RUclips award for the shit you do man!
Yo Devvon I just had to pause this video half way to tell you thank you for sharing this gems Ive been studying your videos for like a week now I even take notes lol Thanks a lot✌🏾
Big bro this the only video I've seen of yours so far but if they're all like this one you'll be at a million subs in no time. So long as you're consistent with content. 👍
One thing about you is, you're complicated, but you're good, you know your craft and settings and plugins. I found that one thing with following your way, it works but it is too much (to much weight). I would love something simple, like it works and that's it, then add what you need to, I don't know if am wrong or right here just expressing a feeling, well done for helping us, :)
Great tutorial as always man... Could you please make more tutorials on mixing and mastering on fl studio and how to get great wide vocals without getting out of fl studio; basically how to mix and master a whole song in fl studio.
Ahh! That is what hey placed on a spoken word recorded way back! yay ohhh, maybe I will be able get the vocal recording to sound half decent eventually... Very Inspiring Vid !
Love your tutorials brother. You do a great job of showing tips and tricks that one can use for their own mixing projects. I noticed that you bus the output of the recorded track and on that aux track you placed your delay sends etc. and the aux track was then routed to the master bus/track. Ive seen other mixing engineers applying sends to the recorded track(s) but they bus the vocal recorded track(s) to a vocal, dub, bus. Why did you use this method? is the method a much easier way to do things? is that the way you were taught or taught yourself? Just curious. Everything sounds great, so I am not complaining at all.
Please devvon i need help!! I just buy the recording studio Cubase 10.5 pro.. Is this a good recording studio?... Because he doesn't want to record in this one.. And which studio would you prefer?
Make a seperate channel named delay on the mixer and just send the main vocal chain to it...now you can mess around with the delay channel without altering the main vocal chain. This also works for other things like reverb, saturation, etc.

Plz make tutorial on when to apply mono plugin or stereo plugin...

Yeah yeah and why i should that because i always but an stereo plugin

Who ever disliked this is a hater, your great bro🔥
How do you edit the sound of delays without altering the main vocal sound? and how did u send just ur delay out without sending main vocals out?
Make a seperate channel named delay on the mixer and just send the main vocal chain to it...now you can mess around with the delay channel without altering the main vocal chain. This also works for other things like reverb, saturation, etc.
