  • A follow-up video of the How to Make Bakhoor short course. A formula is available in the description section of the course.
    Sample Formula
    1. 50g wood chips or powder: oudh (agarwood), sandalwood, cedarwood, etc
    2. 25g frankincense resin
    3. 25g amber resin
    4. 20g dried flower petals (rose, lavender, hibiscus, etc, as you like)
    5. 5g dried clove (optional)
    6. 40g fragrance/essential oil blend of choice (traditionally oudh blend, sandalwood, amber, oakmoss, etc)
    7. 25g hydrosol of choice (rose water, lavender water, etc)
    8. 50g sugar
    9. 10g lemon juice
    *Yield: about 250g of bakhoor
**Adjust the formula (woodchips, fragrance, hydrosol, etc) as you like.
    Tips:
    1. It works best with powdered wood or very fine wood chips.
    2. Be as creative as possible, even with making bakhoor.
You can tweak the formula as you like, by taking one or more of the suggested steps below:
    a. Reduce the quantity of wood chips or powder.
    b. Reduce the amount of frankincense, myrrh, and amber, or remove any one or two of them.
    3. Increase the amount of caramel by adding extra sugar and hydrosol (rose water).
    4. Increase, or reduce, the quantity of fragrance or essential oils.
    5. Remove or reduce the amount of dried flowers and spices.
Whatever you do, make sure you keep records of the changes so that if your version turns out to be very fantastic, you will be able to reproduce it in future.
    Enjoy your bakhoor!

Where can I get these Indonesian oud chips in bulk ?
    Plz help

    • @DrRabiIlemonaEkore
      @DrRabiIlemonaEkore  3 года назад

Hello Rhose. It depends on where you live. If you can find a market where Asian or Arabic spices and perfumes are sold, you should find the oudh chips. If you don't find oudh chips, you can start with chips of any kind of wood. It just that they may not add any fragrance to your bakhoor. But you can make up for it by using extra quantity of your perfume oils. Best of luck!
