    I want to comment as someone who for almost a year now has been going to a local chiropractic clinic that only does this activator method and i can say when i entered chiropractic i had immense issues with my hip pain and leg pain and arms and neck and back pretty much every part of me hated being alive because of the pain caused by a serious car accident i was in years ago that was left untreated. Now when i started at this clinic they did a series of tests from scanning my back using a thermal tool that can detect which side is more inflamed and needs work and then to back that up they took xrays to see. Now back to the results after almost 1 year of going i can without a doubt say that nearly 90% of the pain is gone i no longer suffer from any hip pain or pain in my groin or legs. My neck still has issues but thats the last spot they are working on right now and even that is limited to flareups once every week or so versus the 4 to 5 times every day. This stuff works i am walking proof of it and its also much faster than manual cracking and thus you can get more patients in and help more people. Everyone deserves to feel better.

    I have been watching you use this instrument on your animal channel but had no idea what it was or did. I didn't know you could get treatment without cracks. But then I had never heard of an animal chiropractor either! You are teaching me all kinds of things! I am happy I found your channels! Thank you, Dr. Doug!

      Hi Jana nice to see you here! This instrument is an activator, you can adjust very precisely where there are misalignments. So glad this is all interesting for you and grateful you have subscribed this channel too. Thank you.

    Those special shoes just add an element of impreciseness. You can see how the right one is loose. So any eyeballing of length is imprecise. There's so much give there. Just a gimmick to make chiropractic seem legitimate.

    I am intrigued by the fact you use a multidisciplinary approach in your practice while most chiropractors use either manual or activator therapies exclusively. I remain skeptical about the activator approach however, because of the observations shared with me by a D.O. He questioned the validity of the entire therapy because “nothing meaningful could be achieved with a treatment which is nothing more than a flick of a finger.”

    • @DrDougWillenHouseofChiro
      @DrDougWillenHouseofChiro  4 года назад +5

      Actually there are different settings and the highest setting has a
      200N thrust which is equivalent to approximately 40lbs. Not bad for an instrument that feels like a flick. This has been measured, which is easy to do.

      Thank you for responding to my question,. But is this approach as effective as manual adjustments such as the Gonstead method? As I previously stated, you are the only chiropractor which uses a multidisciplinary approach observed on You Tube. What concerns governs your decision on what method to use? Also, doesn’t the use of a percussion massager defeat the purpose of the precise application of activator?

      @@jamesmitchell1780 It's hard to comment for a million practitioners that all practice differently, but from my experience, the true "Gonstead" people don't mix techniques, they practice pure Gonstead for the most part. Clarence Gonstead was quite the genius, and his technique covers everything, lower back, neck, extremities, TMJ, extensive Xray analysis. My chiropractic school (life University in Georgia) had the highest respect for Gonstead, and so do, I. I think its awesome. I decided I wanted to keep learning different styles and techniques, and make a medley of what I had an affinity with. That's just me, and I have a successful practice with happy patients.

    • @DrDougWillenHouseofChiro

      As far as percussive massage and manual cracks and activator. I think the main thing is to have some sort of pre and post check, and then see if you can improve or change the pre and post. Gonstead uses that instrument with two prongs that they run up the spine. They are looking to shift the pattern: which means that they had an adjustment with a positive out come. I use "leg checks". My favorite leg checks are what I learned studying Activator. Other techniques have great " leg checks". But I personally like the Activator one. This allows me to check the patient after if I feel I didn't get the most out of the treatment that I could. I also ask the patient, "how are you now", many chiropractors hate doing that, because they feel, "asking about the symptom is not what Chiropractic's purpose is" we are removing the nerve interference, and patients may not be able to "feel" that. I like the way I practice and I'm not a pure, perfect chiropractor. I have so much respect for chiropractors out there, I love Dr. Cipriano, Dr. Tubio, Dr. ZevTV, Dr. Rahim Gonstead, I try to learn from all of them.
