I would kill to have Stamkos on the Panthers next year. But even I would say it doesn’t feel right. Stamkos should remain and retire as a Bolt. He’s your Dwayne Wade, don’t make the same mistake the Heat did.

He’s been a huge part of the team that’s made it to four finals (2015, 2020, 2021, and 2022) and won back to back championships. It would be just wrong if the Lightning let him walk and finish his career elsewhere. He had 40 goals and 41 assists this year at the age of 34. He’s still a great player and if he leaves it would be a huge loss for Tampa. Victor Hedman who was drafted the year after Stamkos has one year remaining on his contract and can become a UFA in 2025. There’s probably a lot of questions surrounding his future in Tampa too. Gonna be an interesting summer in Tampa for sure.

The success of the Bolts over the last several years forced the Cats to get better. This is a good, nasty rivalry. (Not quite, say, the Battle of Alberta, but it's been percolating for awhile now.) The Bolts' success is rubbing off on Florida. Who knows? Maybe the Cats can accomplish what they almost did last year!
I feel for Tampa’s coach that game. He just could not outsmart the other coach. Every thing he did just backfired. Sometimes the odds just aren’t in your favor. Watched the whole game and the only issues I had were his challenges. One was way too desperate but other than that, he did all he could, Florida just wanted it more.
Florida took revenge for 2022, in general Florida is stronger, guard and defense, goalkeepers are strong in both. Tampa's bottom line is weak. Kuch and Point played poorly.
Very rare see such politeness and great leadership respect and graciousness and kindness in this country the US and Stamkos is one of the handful if not most likely a very small percentile of the Americans or the people here in general not counting the Indigenous People or the Asians as they are naturally good people on a whole , to be such a decent human being .
