I know both of them are good player. Jeff has skill and Keith has his rhytmic thing that is awsome. But one for certain, i think theyre suited to play together.. I mean pretty damn well suited for each others (not romantic). They play so precise each and every stroke. Im having so much fun watching them doing live
Just received my left handed Diamond Series Schecter 7 string today and just blown away by this guitar. Jeff Loomis initially got me to consider Schecter guitars starting maybe 9 years ago and it’s been great seeing that company really flourish since then. I sort of wish Jeff still exclusively played Schecter but I understand why he wanted to switch things up a few years ago. I nearly bought Keith’s signature Schecter but ultimately wanted the Floyd rose option with my 7 string. Holy cow it’s gonna take me some time to get used to playing it though as that extra low B string really messed with my head lol. Love this company though, wish I could be sponsored by them. I’m a fan of their instruments and the artists that use them!
The incredible thing is the accuracy, this is no playback but a real playthrough, we all can taste their incredible skills ! As another comment says below, the chemistry between these two is incredible
I love Jeff's picking technique, can't bring my fingers in like that though, after 12 years of picking with them flared out. Fucks up my muting and upstrokes.
always floors me on how anyone could leave neg comments esp when there is that much talent there, I get if you are not a fan of the tone, sound or overall song in general, but come on!
Are they human? Lol. Sick playing. Also the new dot inlay designs, what's the purpose of them? Been wondering that for forever. I'm thinking of getting a SLS C-7 at some point to try something different for once in the blue burst finish and active version too. I'm just curious on the inlay design is all.
Joshua Garcia Just a style choice. They don't really serve any purpose other than being a visual aid to draw the eye to certain frets. Just like any other inlay.
I really dig this playing and Im 50 so Jeff being 40 is nothing. I have a loomis 7 Vampyre red and its great except the cut away. I see the new ones are cut away nicely. I always bang my fingers because its not big enough. And the white hard Maple on mine is yellow on the new ones are white so go figure. Jeff please join Megadeth!!
Do you know Jeff auditioned for Megadeth and was excepted into the band. Until they found out he was 16 at that time. Settle down fella it was a joke! The only guitar that I have thats better is my 93 Mustaine signature model.
I dig just about every song they play together, but I have to say that I think their JamUp "Bro 2.0" video with Ola is the best in my opinion. Physically impossible not to start headbanging.
nice... Loomis, Calvert , Smyth, Broderick, Marty, JP, Vai, Brian C ( Buckethead ), Jarzombek, lotta talent out there..nice to hear a piece like this . Jeff put out Plains of Oblivion a good guitar album too
chobe78 sure the song needs drums, but these guys don't need a backing track, I hate backing tracks, and for some reason every metal drums track nowadays sound fake, I can't tell when is real or sample so it makes me hate it more.
No problem! :) I actually use one of those for my 7 string and it works like a charm. Cleans up unwanted background noise beautifully. It makes rhythms and leads both cleaner and tighter.
Is it weird that I hate when music artist switch to different companies? Weather it be guitar companies, or pickups. When I think of Jeff, I think of Schecter. When I think of Mick, I think of Ibanez. When I think of Kerry King, I think of BC Rich. When I think of early Devin Townsend, I think of EMG's and his old ESP's lol.
Nah I don’t thinks it’s weird it’s probably cause when you discovered these artists they were using those companies but then again I can understand why someone would want to try new companies to explore all their options out there
HOE THE FUCK DID I JUST REALIZE ALEX RUDINGER IS THE DRUMMER FOR CONQUERING DYSTOPIA?!?!?! I've been listening to this band for years and years and watching Alex rudinger for years and years and I just found out that he's the drummer... 😂😂😂
This sounds tight, and quite skillful, but Jeff, outside of the Nevermore context, is just a technically skilled shredder. I witnessed late Sanctuary, through to the late 90's Nevermore, live, many times, and part of what elevated Jeff's playing beyond his obvious fierce technical proficiency, was Warrel Dane, and the rest of the band, but mostly Warrel's writing and unique vocals. That's always the difference between something extraordinary, and something good. It's the songwriting, plus the unique delivery, etc. I've seen Nevermore live well over 20 times, during the first several years, and although Jeff was always great, he never comes to my mind when I think of my favorite players, in the genre.
tfw you stop what you're doing @2:55 and give it the face electronic musicians reserve for when the bass drops so hard you entirely remove your bottom lip.
Don't get me wrong, they are both amazing musicians. But it sounds like someone made up a bunch of sections composed of cool riffs then pieced it together in a very sterile like manner. It lacks musical flow and melodic transitions. Still great to listen too.
Dynamic duo but this doesn't really go well. Superb playing but sounds like at two different things that don't blend into each other. Only for a few seconds for a like a quick lead or something. Boring but great playing, never thought that was possible but you guys are the first.
Jeff is from another planet....both dudes stellar.....the accuracy...the speed ...the tone...the RIFFS...absolutely love it
Jeff Loomis and Keith Merrow play 'Tetris'
+Cristiano Tonel I thumbed up for no reason
suooiyea
+Cristiano Tonel Jeff Loomis and Keith Merrow playing "TItties"
No way
Hahahahah
I know both of them are good player. Jeff has skill and Keith has his rhytmic thing that is awsome. But one for certain, i think theyre suited to play together.. keith + jeff = pure awesomeness \m/
Not many humans are able to do this. Tight.
I miss this!!

That riff @ 2:54 is the sexiest.
Man Jeff is a beast.
Beyond the sheer technical ability, this is next level songwriting. Not a single bad song on this album !
Absolutely awesome riffs. I love the techniques performed by Jeff and Keith in this demo.
These guys together with Alex Rudinger are inhuman and unstoppable. Insane shit.
all of them are monsters together
Loomis looks like a young James Hetfield!!!
Danny Brew Which is hilarious because he's less than 10 years younger than Het.
Will Anderson I did say a young Hetfield!!
Will Anderson Loomis has aged very well though.
ohquutrdfjgfdfgik
Despond it's those Lithuanian genes...they are beautiful people
Keith's guitar looks sick! Definitely my type of guitar
That's a beautiful guitar Jeff has got there.
I’d like to see Keith do a solo
Holly smokes that was heavy! Love it!
Great tandem, killer playing!
Thanks Nili.👍 Your an inspiration to ALOT of people. Keep playing, please!! One request... Kashmir?
I love Jeff's picking technique, can't bring my fingers in like that though, after 12 years of picking with them flared out. Fucks up my muting and upstrokes.
Jeff is a awesome guitarist!!!!
If this isn't the best advertisement for Schecter guitars idk what would be!
always floors me on how anyone could leave neg comments esp when there is that much talent there, I get if you are not a fan of the tone, sound or overall song in general, but come on!
we need more and more songs before you die jeff... please produce more!
+idefixthecat The dude is like literally 40 and doesn't abuse drugs, I feel confident in saying we will get more Jeff Loomis...
+Salad Dressing Don't be so sure. He is in Arch Enemy. He won't do anything like that there.
+Piotrek Lesiński perhaps into some projects.
How dare you. Jeff Loomis is a god. He IS immortal.
Piotrek Lesiński producing second Conquering Dystopia and third solo album right now... While playing in arch enemy... It seems you weren't right
Jeff Loomis plays as well as Jason Becker, but with heavier music. He's awesome
Would be great to see a playthrough of them two and alex webster together
3:52 wicked guitar face by loomis. thank me later

Don’t feel bad regular people can’t play that (c) Keith Merrow. This whole album is so epic. So polished and sounds perfect.
back Nevermooooore!!!
3:08-3:20 🤘
I love it, it's absolutely great

+curt wehrmeyer ...why in the FUCK would you want Jeff to ''join Megadeth''.....put your Vampyre on ebay...you don't get .....
Do you know Jeff auditioned for Megadeth and was excepted into the band. Until they found out he was 16 at that time. Settle down fella it was a joke! The only guitar that I have thats better is my 93 Mustaine signature model.
Schecter guitars are so beautiful ❤️
I need that keith merrow sig
Just got one. It's amazing. Worth every penny.
levi8696 did you get one? How is it?
the section at 2:55 is just insanely cool
The Loominator ! Jeff is too good to not always be doing his solo stuff. I think he should definitely do a version of White Rabbit : )
Pretty sure that happened in either Sanctuary or Nevermore.
Jeff loomis e um grande mestre
3:08 sounds like something from Zelda.
Sounds great.
I dig just about every song they play together, but I have to say that I think their JamUp "Bro 2.0" video with Ola is the best in my opinion. Physically impossible not to start headbanging.
Those chords with 9 of the intro remind me of chuck schuldiner (death) song
Watching these videos you realize the existance of human-shaped aliens.
Where's the follow-up to this album? It's too good not to have one.
outstanding player.
nice... Loomis, Calvert , Smyth, Broderick, Marty, JP, Vai, Brian C ( Buckethead ), Jarzombek, lotta talent out there..nice to hear a piece like this . Jeff put out Plains of Oblivion a good guitar album too
Wait, is this the Westside music store basement in Denmark Street?
The intro has a mysterious black metallish vibe
Holy shit that bit at 2:54
Great riffs all over the song!
It is criminal how few views this has.
Legendary.
Awesome.
This was filmed in westside Distribution wasn't it? haha
New Merrow/Loomis music when?
Great video!
2:54-3:10 is so fckng good
+Lovey prashr superb metal melody
I must of missed that Merrow, gene of guitar playing!😢
Superb
This is sick!
Are they both using passive pickups?
ROCK ON
the greatest combination of schecter's guitar artists.. far beyond syn and zacky v cause u know can't even match synyster gates in every aspects..
interesting creative tandem
WOW !!!
Awesome version ! \m/ Keith's looking tired, give the boy a holiday fgs.
does this really need a back track? I wish I could here only the two guitars
+JoolsGuitar Yeaaaah, it does. Almost eeeeeeverythings is better with drums. ;)
chobe78 sure the song needs drums, but these guys don't need a backing track, I hate backing tracks, and for some reason every metal drums track nowadays sound fake, I can't tell when is real or sample so it makes me hate it more.
+JoolsGuitar The drums are real. Alex Rudinger is their drummer
+Joshua Frederick Having a drummer and hearing really played drums on a recording are two very different things. ;)
chobe78 yes I know that, I was just telling JoolsGuitar that the drums is real
I hear a lot of Becker & Friedman in Jeffs playing style
What kinda insurance policy you think Jeff's carrying on his left hand?
que escala usa loomis en el minuto 2:30 ?
Franco Caneo Aeolian/harmonic minor/phrygian dominant
What is tied to Keith's headstock?

Ravium Thanks :)
No problem! :) I actually use one of those for my 7 string and it works like a charm. Cleans up unwanted background noise beautifully. It makes rhythms and leads both cleaner and tighter.
Ravium I'll have to give it a try, thanks!

What is this a Schecter guitar commercial?
2:28 oh man

sound great. death metal.
Lol I have Jeff's guitar model

Ah, you apparently have not sampled enough of Loomis' career ..

vballmusicGod
There's plenty of EVH videos on how he redefined a style. However to this very minute. Jeff Loomis goes starving.
Uffff !! lml lml
💀🤘✌
It seems like Keith should play a solo ,even if he plays them on just the low strings.
jeff no :( 4:03
+chazzy licks Yes, Loomis is partially human.
+Cristian Jailander Orozco partially lol
+warhammer265 haha
+chazzy licks it's just a perfect mistake.
+chazzy licks ???
4:11 Face Melted!!

If this sounds like two different things that don't blend to you, then your hearing isn't what it's supposed to be. This goes together so well...
están enfermos ! jaja
