Thanks for posting. Giving me confidence to do mine and not pay a mechanic to do it :D

Thanks for posting. I have to change mine in 2024 as a further step toward having a easy starting engine. Mine was getting pretty hard to start in the cool fall weather but it would start so I decided to not fiddle with the unknown because I had to motor to the haul-out slip and needed the engine one last time. Not sure I will get to it over the winter.
    1) Noted about washers under the yoke nuts.
    2) Was there a compressible washer between the injector and the head?
    3) I hope my injector pops out as easily as yours did. I have a reconditioned injector assembly to go in. I was expecting some springs inside when you took it apart? Cleaning seemed simple enough and there was nothing to adjust?
    4) Did you bleed the fuel system prior to starting? It wasn't mentioned in the video, I assume it would NOT START without bleeding the air out.

      Thanks for your comments.
      1. Yeah don’t loose the washers!
      2. It’s possible. I’d have to look at the shop drawing of the engine. I was pondering this after I did the job and was editing the video. If there is one, it was in good shape and doesn’t leak.
      3. It came out surprisingly easily. But I’ve seen where someone will turn over the engine with the nuts loose to break the injector out with compression.
      4. No bleeding was needed. It’s far enough down the line that the only tubing left is the tank return.
Since recording this video in 2020, I’ve had additional issues with hard starting, especially when it’s cold. I’ve since replaced the injector ($50 on Amazon for a pack of 6) with little improvement. Lots of soot in the exhaust, loss of power and it takes a long time to come up to speed.
I think the head gasket need replacing. That will be my next engine video.
Why pay someone to do something I can figure out.
      Cheers.

Good luck with it. My engine issues turned out to not be injector related, so by process of elimination, my next attempt at correcting this will be replacement of the head gasket. Hope that does the trick.

Great video! Super helpful and informative... But had to stop watching because of that detector randomly beeping annoyingly.

I’ve never heard of that before. What does the ATF do for the fuel/engine.

@WildRoverSailing It cleans the fuel system and lubricates the engine valves
