Very good chute procedure...only thing I would add it get horse to see you with both eyes..get him to notice you with left eye and also notice you with right...that way you have untracked your horse. Good reason to do this alot of horses will only use one eye which will be their dominant lead...strong left eye never uses the right to see you can bet the bank he leaves chute on left lead and only want to circle left or just buck straight. After 46 years of riding bares I always got horse to notice me on his back with both eyes this will give you the best trip out of a horse because he will be more willing to buck using either left or right lead. The horse that never see you with both eyes will most always stay of the strong eye lead and refuse to ever use the opposite lead unless forced to like bucking into a corner. Your best trip will always come from a horse you took the time to "untrack" meaning see things using both eyes instead of just one. Trust me on this because I always got the best trip out a horse by doing this. Another trip is dominant eye use to to your advantage..meaning stronger left eye means left footed or near side strong meaning he will circle to the left on his own or motion pickup men to circle him left for you...right eye dominate means circle to right more willing. Just a pointer I hope helps it never failed me.

Another tip is on horse that stalls. Most every time a horse stalls when gate swings open is because the gate opened and the side he refused to look at things going on with. Like a strong right eyed horse that has only being looking at everything going on with just that one eye and the the chute opens on his left side the eye he has refused to use...bam he just stands there not moving because he has yet tried to look at anything other than with his right eye because he has continually only used that one eye usually with his head up and over the gate on that side or backside of chute.
