Meridian therapy uses a lot of 5 element. Idk if he just doesn’t practice often or is flustered by being on camera. But as someone who does Meridian therapy 40+ patients a week, I can attest that it works and my patients enjoy it. I used to do TCM but switched because I find Meridian Therapy more fun. You gotta enjoy your job.
St 44 (Neiting) Fire Point??? Why?, St is a Yang Meridian, St 45 is metal, St 44 is water. Only Yin channels have second Ying Spring Fire points. Please explain...I am trained in TCM.
He's just mistaken. He had me caught up on what he was saying there as well. The more I practice, the more irrelevant the points per se become, rather the focus has become the number of needles on a channel. I think the takeaway here is that one can palpate certain points to ascertain their efficacy in effecting a change in the pulse. I saw another video where he was mistaken about the location of the UB source point. It doesn't matter beyond being able to test the relevance of some point or points on the channel. I cannot say for certain that some of what he's doing isn't theatre. Kiiko Matsumoto is absolutely the best teacher for applying palpation to point selection, direction, and depth.
@@DeadlyChinchilla I suggest u focus on the classical....no modern style...all modern needle just makes me laugh....all from Ling Shu, and they all take the credits... shame
Hey there. This is a great question, I often come across questions like this from TCM practitioners. I can't explain Dr. Fratkins work because we have different backgrounds.
There is no such thing as "Japanese acupuncture." There are different Japanese acupuncture styles, some focusing on pulse balancing, some on palpation, probably others. Just helping fine-tune the question.
@@jansteinvonsquidmeirsteen2256 i have read some books..very interesting, around 1920-1930, all Japanese acupuncture still same as Chinese one..they use long or short needle....after 1950..sudderenly there are so MANY new styles JUMPs up.... and no more long needle being used and no manipulation. I am sure Ken Sawada ( he was highly recommended by my other mentor) will cry if he saw Japanese acupuncture going on this way. it is true...both in China or Japan, no more respect to the classic such as Ling Shu any more. my mentor (he was the last generation acupuncturist who doing mentor style learning in China, many of his point locations and needling technic are different from the modern text) discussed with us before, he told us...no matter how it looks like, they all from Huang Di Nei Jing.
@@jansteinvonsquidmeirsteen2256 Hey there, I would actually have to disagree with you there. I was trained in Japan and am licensed there. All practitioners who have gone through schooling in Japan practice Japanese acupuncture, but their styles do vary. The commonality of almost all styles is palpation though!

Thanks for the video Dr. Fratkin. Just came across your stuff. Good to see it.

+Dim Cherny It's all made up mumbo jumbo, that's "why." He could stick a chopstick in the whatever point and claim to have healed something.
