In this GoPro tips and tricks video I show how to make a DIY chest mount. This is a super cheap way to make an awesome and professional looking chest mount. What I like best about your DIY chest mount vs the standard GoPro chest mount is that yours is more stable. The elastic on the GoPro version allows movement of the camera as I move around. Yours seems like a better idea. Thanks. I'm definitely giving this a try. The trouble is that I also want to build your magnetic mount from the mount that came in the box. Perhaps I can get something else to mount the magnet to.

Nicely made rig, but the chest rigs are only around $5 on Amazon. Saying that, I have one in the mail, but I also have all these parts just laying around my home. I should have waited until I saw this video, so I don't need to pace up and down waiting for the mail to arrive. 👍
could you make something that centres the camera? I find it quite annoying when the video is off centre because the lens is placed to the right... Maybe there is an adapter or something that puts the lens in the middle...

I just got a GoPro hero 2014 that did not come with the base plate. Any replacements that I could use?
Man it looks better than the original and better in general cuz the chesty requires u To Lose the strap u want and then readjust It In A Very Uncomfortable Way And It’s Hard to Do it When You’re Wearing it

Where did you get the elastic cord ? It has a small thing to adjust the length. I think you should use it.

Have you found that the base plate that you used breaks fairly fast? About how much use did you get out of this mount before it broke, if at all? Also, what jacket are you wearing? It looks sweet!

what kind of string do recommend sowing with? size...type...brand?
+veterandd214 I am a seamstress. Brand does not matter as much as type of thread. I would use an upholstery thread available from any sewing supply. Tip: It looks so much better if the color of your thread matches the velcro straps, too. I hope that helps.

Watch my review of it, all the comparison with matter are covered in there. Doing a comparison of the look of the camers at this point I feel would be hunting for views. My viewers deserve better than that

Yeah I use them a fair bit but at the end of the day I only have so much time to edited I whenever I have time I try to get a head on the Tips and Tricks video. I have a lot of footage sitting around waiting till I have time to get to it.

+veterandd214 I see why you are suggesting this, because fishing lines are strong and designed to stand up under moisture. However, fishing lines are not designed to go through sewing machines. It's better to use an upholstery thread which is tough enough to do the job and is exactly designed to go through a sewing machine.

That a tough one isn't it? Only i can think of is cutting you front and back of a waterproof housing. Might aswell just get the frame it self then.

I think you should use protector glasses while working with dremel. It's kinda dangerous.
