These hearings should be required watching for all high school students nationally. It’s that important.
It really is superb, I watch them all the time. I would have loved to be there for the in house fight. I still get to be there by these recordings. I disagree on 1 point its not nationally its internationally and it will be studied for history. I am in U.K.
They should also be made to watch American History X imho.

I find it refreshing and reassuring to hear politicians speak in a clear and educated manner. No evasive wording, or phony catch phrasing, or adolescent ad hoc .We did not hear such for several years running. This is how I prefer the people in charge of my government to communicate

As one who served 32 years in the US Army and wounded 4 times, my dad gravely wounded in WWII and dying much too early as well as countless friends and family who died it literally rips my guts out seeing those who actually want that Fascist Dictator that calls us Veterans suckers. I no longer live in the US but in Costa Rica. In the past 9 years I have traveled to 79 countries. And the world is shocked that so many Americans want to throw their freedoms away. The model of nearly all Constitutional Republics and Federations. For the survival of the US as well as Ukraine will determine if Freedom reigns or the Tyrannical powers of Russia and China. I never served but have always recognized the sacrifice of those who have and deeply appreciated the freedoms being preserved for all of us. I have always thought saying "Thank you for your service" falls flat in honoring service members who fought and died to protect what the rest of us only have to vote for. I live in a deep red state and due to the electoral college, my vote is discarded. I wish you the very best, you have earned it!

The more and more I watch the more and more I realize how the education system has clearly failed to teach civics to the United State population.

The GOP has been waging war on education since FDR. Unfortunately, civics was one of the first casualties of that war. I heard recently that now they're even getting rid of history too.

@@krmccarrell back in the forties, fourth or fifth grade, I think it was called social studies that year.
The teacher had a pretty good grasp of the history of our legal premises all the way back to the older Anglo Saxon common law.
My memory is by no means perfect, but it was one of the most fascinating subjects of my elementary classes. I wish all the history thrown at me for the following eight years had been as well presented.
Thank God Mike Pence had some decent and moral folks on his staff. I may not agree with their politics but they are stand-up guys worthy of our gratitude.

After a second viewing in full of the January 6 committee third session I am more convinced this nation remains in jeopardy of the 45th president unreasonable actions let alone illegal actions unprecedented under our constitution.
I also get the feeling that any appointments made by the 45th at any governmental position with even a modicum of power should be replaced by new heads... There are a lot of "yes men" vibes coming from this... along with a degree of incompetence or complicit criminality, a very bad combo if you want a stable and somewhat efficient organization. Nepotism has always been a big weakness of autocratic governments, and Trump had been very actively exercising it during his reign.

Judge Luttig is a National hero. He chooses every word carefully knowing this is a serious moment in our country. It is going in the history books.
This is a moral issue, as is the whole argument about the discretionary leverage that the fore fathers of the constitution left to the people! “Magna Carta was issued in June 1215 and was the first document to put into writing the principle that the king and his government was not above the law. It sought to prevent the king from exploiting his power, and placed limits of royal authority by establishing law as a power in itself”. Indisposed or predisposed to the actual implementation of a action verses the actual understanding that it could not be a legal argument because no statue under the Judicatory nor legislative branch existed to decide this unprecedented matter! However, since the constitution was written as a “Magna Carta” and not a legal document, then the mindset of its authors is let the people decide should there ever come a time that the electorate and the Presiding President have a stand off? That sounds to me like what Trump thought they could present as a viable option to cheating verses a reason to doubt or create doubt about the results! Thus, what Trump did think is not law, it is his lack of moral consideration for another person authority, and like the spoil rich brat he is, he wanted them to take the victory of Biden and give it to him! When they, his legal staff said no, he took matters in his own hands and single handed attempted to “man handled” this nation with his position as President abusing its power entrusted to the decency of human morals, but what prevailed is the grace of a reasonable mind, that no one person possess power over the other in this nation and the people’s vote! In my opinion, he lacks understanding and should be found guilty of the street brawl he ignited on Jan. 6, 2021!
There is an argument that the magna Carta was signed by the king by knife point by the king's Noble men. Since the king signed it under duress (fearing for his life), that it not legally enforceable document.

This was an incredibly powerful and honest testimony. He told the truth. Will anybody listen? Can the country save itself? Will the United States be able to repair the religious psy op abuse, trauma, vulnerability, and historical disappointments that need healing so this never happens again? Will democracy prevail and stand the test of this great experiment? We will see. I haven't given up yet!

The denial factor is not only happening in this situation. In everyday society in most work place. There are people in charge who feign ignorance to keep in favor of friends and the ruling majority. Causing innocent people to be fired or reprimanded.

Ya but this presentation is specifically for the public, summarizing the findings of the actual hearings, which were held earlier in private. So if the idea is to keep the public tuned in and learning, then style points should be a prime concern.

There was a video of 2 CNN employees (cameraman and news reporter) laughing and congratulating each other for faking the video footage of the “shooting” in the Capitol. There was video footage of the Capitol guards letting the people into the Capitol and them walking inside slowly while chatting and looking around calmly (actual Trump supporters). There is video footage of undercover FBI agents pretending to be Trump supporters and yelling those hateful things and trying to get the actual Trump supporters to act violently. There is video footage of people INSIDE the Capitol handing hammers through the window to people (planted-not Trump supporters) outside the building and then those people destroying property (not Trump people). The main security officer to the Capitol mysteriously dies days prior to him testifying (fact). There is massive video footage of ballots being brought in at 3:00am while Trump was in the lead in the election to prove that Biden /Dems brought in fake votes. The fact that Biden wants to claim that over 80 million Americans voted for him.

Judge Luttig is responsible and well knows to bridal his tongue also knowing that a Judge's words have great import and he's careful to avoid misspeak. President Obama was also similar in his buffering and carefully-measured words. This is what powerful but responsible people do.
