You definitely have to luck out and have good timing to get the penny items. I went to 10 different stores on Tuesday and one store I only found 1 item and 1 store I found 200. Sometimes you get lucky.
That's why I love finding penny items and trying to help other people find penny items and good deals! I love knowing that I can donate a lot of stuff without having to spend a lot of money, and I can help others do it too!

If something goes to a penny it will usually stay that way for months but sometimes the dollar general system will reset an item in a day so you never really know if it will stay a penny for long. It's always a good idea to use the dollar general app to scan items to make sure they are still a penny. If they are a penny the price will say $0.00 when you scan it.

I've been to 2 dollar generals and will not go back they were so dirty and unorganized I felt dirty when I left had to go home and shower really gross only saw expired and broken items
I reported one Dollar General to the head office and they were nice and said they would check into it and about a week and half later the store was cleaned up you can try that if you want to return to that store
