So cool! Thank you!! Do you have to walk a lot to go to Paje city? In the center of the city where we can book excursion, go to restaurant, shop…

Paje is a 15-20 minute walk along the beach and in my opinion Mr Kahawa is the best restaurant in the town and is right on the beach

Hello, can you please tell how many hours per day it's low tide? We like to swim :). Are there any restaurants nearby? Thank you!

Hi, the tide changes roughly every 6 hours and the average depth is circa 1m at low tide and 3m at high tide. We swam at every high tide and explored the rock pools at low tide. It's a 20 minute walk along the beach to Paje where there are quite a few restaurants. The best of these in our view is "Mr Kahawa" which is right on the beachfront. Couple of things about the pricing of food - food is priced for the tourist and unlike some other African countries, like South Africa where food is cheap and reflects the local cost of living, it doesn't in Zanzibar. Lots of websites advise you to take Dollars which is fine when paying for excursions but lots of restaurants are priced in Tanzanian shillings so that they convert at TSh2,200. Paying by credit card attracts a 4-5% surcharge so I would advise you to take both Shillings and Dollars. It's safe to walk along the beach both day and night but I wouldn't advise walking along the road as the driving in Zanzibar is truly atrocious.
