He died in 1972 and although he talked about his job in general, he never once mentioned what happened during the war. This film has given me an insight of what he went through and made his memory even more precious.
Thanks for posting this. The sacrifices made during the darkest hours of the UK's existence need to be trumpeted. So many know so little [or even care] about our ordinary heroes.
Agreed. The interviews were very interesting and in some cases heartbreaking. But the film was useless in so far as it mainly depicted Midland engines. A very poor film about a very sensitive subject.

Good film but a lot of shots of locos that couldn't be GWR LMS mostly
