- Arriving at Dublin Airport, Ireland. Flying from Newcastle Airport, U.K. November, 2023.
Dublin Airport (Irish: Aerfort Bhaile Átha Cliath) (IATA: DUB, ICAO: EIDW) is an international airport serving Dublin, Ireland. It is operated by DAA (formerly Dublin Airport Authority). The airport is located in Collinstown, 7 km (4.3 mi) north of Dublin, and 3 km (1.9 mi) south of the town of Swords. In 2019, 32.9 million passengers passed through the airport, making it the airport's busiest year on record. It is the 12th busiest airport in Europe, and is the busiest of Ireland's airports by total passenger traffic; it also has the largest traffic levels on the island of Ireland, followed by Belfast International Airport.
The airport has an extensive short and medium haul network, served by an array of carriers, as well as a significant long-haul network focused on North America and the Middle East. It serves as the main hub for Ireland's flag carrier Aer Lingus, and is a primary operating base for Europe's largest low-cost carrier Ryanair. British charter airline TUI Airways also operates a base at the airport.
United States border preclearance services are available at the airport for U.S.-bound passengers. Shannon Airport is the only other airport in Europe to offer this facility.
Flying to here from Bristol on my own in March so this is extremely useful. Thank you!
It's a big airport. It takes a while to get through it. But it's pretty self-explanatory. I've only been through this airport twice and I never got lost in there
@@MetroMark Excellent to know, thank you! I'll have someone meeting me at arrivals so it's just getting through this bit on my own which seems simple enough :).
You might get stuck there like Tom Hanks
@@dhalsim-1 are you talking about a movie?
My husband had to do this walk and hes not able to walk and they kept shouting at him to hurry up,hes 70 years of age! And there was only a handful of people going through!
Could he not get a lift on one of those little buggies?
Who kept shouting at him? Was the Gestapo there or something?
Nice video
Thanks
Hi Mark, Do we need to face any immigration at Dublin airport for UK residents?
Well, you've got to present your passport
Just tell them you want asylum and they'll wave you through and give you a house.
Is there a passport and ID check when coming to Dublin from Germany?
Yes. EU nationals can use a national identity card or a valid passport to enter the Republic of Ireland.
Is visa to visit Ireland required for US citizens? Or anyother paper work?
If you're a U.S. citizen travelling to Ireland, you'll require a valid passport, which remains valid until after completion of your scheduled trip. However, you won't require a visa for either tourist or business stays provided their duration is less than three months.
nope just passport
I have self transfer flight connection can you please tell it’s the same way take baggage and move on?
If it's the same airline for each flight, you can ask them to transfer your bag for you. You're doing checked baggage or cabin baggage?
No my airline are not same have to do recheck
@@2BusyBee yeah, you'll have to collect your bag and re check it then
