    Nice one dad.. that was so lovely! Glad you didn’t get an eyeful or mouthful for that matter from the pigeons 😂 I loved the look of the Solomon bridge and horse tunnel, looks like there’s some lovely history where you are. Your right about the news, it’s nothing but doom and gloom, not healthy for anyone... the life you have chosen seems to be away from all this nonsense going on in the world... I’m so proud of you dad, keep them coming ❤️ Xxx

    Thank you for this. My younger brother passed away in 2020 but we lived in New Bradwell and used to run the towpath from Stoke Bruerne down to the New Inn in New Bradwell on a Saturday morning. Milton Keynes is much maligned as you say, but New Bradwell and Wolverton abound with Victorian architecture and good pubs along the canal. Glad to see they returned the Black Horse at Great Linford to it's original name. It was "The Friendly Perch" for a while with a strange picture of a smug looking fish. Nice pint of ABC from memory.

    Hi Vince that was a very flat piece of canal wasn't it all the way through Milton Keynes to Cosgrove before reaching a lock, the caravans that you saw would have been Cosgrove park a holiday park with swimming pools, fishing lakes and holiday homes. The old canal engineers didn't want to waste materials did they the horse tunnel was basically shaped like the profile of a horse and no more, keep cruising. 👍

    • @NarrowboatCruisingLifestyle
      @NarrowboatCruisingLifestyle  2 года назад

      Yes I got a bit spoilt there with no locks for a while! A tall horse would struggle to get through that tunnel. Thanks for letting me know about the Caravan Park. See you again Barry!

The history you folks have in the UK is astonishing and so much is well preserved. "Less stress"? I found too that I hardly turn my TV on and particularly the news channels. My blood pressure has dropped considerably according to my Doctor and I feel so much better. I do know what's going on in the world as I read "on line", but very limited. The pigeons was funny, but it would have been worse that instead of "in your eye", could have dropped when you were talking. Yuck. lol Hey, take care out there. Travel safe. Sandy from USA

    Another great episode, Mr. Vince. Love when you show the comparison pictures- old vs.new. Warms my heart to see how the old places have survived. The horse tunnel was cool but scary..too confining for my likes. I'd also heard the grave stones against the wall were to neaten up the cemeteries because the older graves were dug all higgly wiggly way back when, not in neat lines of plots like now??? Take care, stay happy!

    Great video I’m in the states live along the Mississippi River. We have many hulls laying around dirt cheap or even probably free believe it or not. If things go right I’ll be building my own River Shanty House boat. Would love to come across an 18 x 70 hull. I’ve watched many vids of your canals their awesome Mississippi River is a totally different animal. I’ve noticed most if not all narrowboat Vloggers use that fish eye lens. Not a good lens to use great for distance shots but close up shots there’s nothing but spatial distortion. Just a regular Lens camera would make all the videos a whole lot better.

    With regard to the grave stones Vince. Think it was the same as the very old cemetery close to us. Over the years when it became unmanageable to look after individual graves the stones were kept but the ground levelled out. In Liverpool Cathedral they used them to create a path around the cathedral grounds. Of course they are hundreds of years old with no relatives to worry about
