This song was a hit in the 70’s and considering too that just before they were going to have a comeback a few years ago he tragically lost one of his brothers in a car accident and the music stopped understandably… I felt so moved by his obvious emotion watching the spin Forestella put on his song.

Forestella member Kang Hyeong-ho has a thousand voices. He attracted attention by singing both male and female parts in ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. He is a vocalist in the pitta band who not only has excellent singing skills, but also writes lyrics, composes, produces, and directs vocals, and plays a pivotal role musically in Forestella. I highly recommend his songs ‘Wave on the Sea(해무)’‘Be Free’ and his cover song ‘Phantom of the Opera’.

And since you asked for as much info in the comments… HERE WE GO This was the Immortal Song’s Kim Chang Won special (the guest panelist) and his band “Sanullim” was one of the most influential rock groups in South Korea, active from the late 1970’s~late 2000’s; their music was unconventional and this song was no exception. Laying Silks and Satins on My Heart, the title track of their 2nd album with lyrics of a love confession, had a 3min INTRO to the song (when mostly all songs at this time were ~3 mins total). It felt like a vibey-jam session. Forestella said this intro had always given them an Arabian feel for some reason, so they took that and ran with it ambitiously as they related deeply to Sanullim’s experimental approaches to music. The rearrangement is so bewitching, mysterious, whimsical and has such grandeur, it’s a genius composition. Kim Changwon and every guest artist for this episode was duly humbled 😅 Fun facts: Forestella tried extra hard because they had to win this round to qualify for the show’s “King’s of King’s” special, where they get to compete against other winners from other episodes. They were successful 😋 - When Sanullim’s 2nd album dropped, Changwon brought it to a radio station to introduce it and they willingly played the song, but they kept anxiously asking him when the song was gonna “start”… they eventually cut it off around the 3 min mark before the vocals ever came in bc of their radio timings lol

My daughter is a vocal coach as well and when she visits from interstate, and comments on what they’re doing with their voices it fascinates me and I can’t get enough, so it’s good to hear your commentary too. Forestella are a phenomenal vocal quartet, but there is so much more to them than meets the eye even though they openly share a lot about their lives. I find I’m really curious about the choice of arrangement, the song choice, the interpretation, staging etc . I believe The tenor soprano Kang HyungHo is in charge of Vocal Arrangements and production and the baritone tenor/musical theatre guy Bae Doohoon is in charge of Staging, the leggiero tenor is CHo MinGyu is also the leader of the group and the youngest ,Ko Woorim is the basso profundo voice … everyone is free to contribute though. Forestella member Kang Hyeong-ho has a thousand voices. He attracted attention by singing both male and female parts in ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. He is a vocalist in the pitta band who not only has excellent singing skills, but also writes lyrics, composes, produces, and directs vocals, and plays a pivotal role musically in Forestella. I highly recommend his songs ‘Wave on the Sea(해무)’‘Be Free’ and his cover song ‘Phantom of the Opera’.

This was the Immortal Song’s Kim Chang Won special (the guest panelist) and his band “Sanullim” was one of the most influential rock groups in South Korea, active from the late 1970’s~late 2000’s; their music was unconventional and this song was no exception.
Laying Silks and Satins on My Heart, the title track of their 2nd album with lyrics of a love confession, had a 3min INTRO to the song (when mostly all songs at this time were ~3 mins total). It felt like a vibey-jam session. Forestella said this intro had always given them an Arabian feel for some reason, so they took that and ran with it ambitiously as they related deeply to Sanullim’s experimental approaches to music. The rearrangement is so bewitching, mysterious, whimsical and has such grandeur, it’s a genius composition. Kim Changwon and every guest artist for this episode was duly humbled 😅
Fun facts: Forestella tried extra hard because they had to win this round to qualify for the show’s “King’s of King’s” special, where they get to compete against other winners from other episodes. They were successful 😋
- When Sanullim’s 2nd album dropped, Changwon brought it to a radio station to introduce it and they willingly played the song, but they kept anxiously asking him when the song was gonna “start”… they eventually cut it off around the 3 min mark before the vocals ever came in bc of their radio timings lol

Justin, I always enjoy your reactions 😂while also learning from your teaching moments…I would love you to keep those up too. My daughter is a vocal coach as well and when she visits from interstate, and comments on what they’re doing with their voices it fascinates me and I can’t get enough, so it’s good to hear your commentary too. Forestella are a phenomenal vocal quartet, but there is so much more to them than meets the eye even though they openly share a lot about their lives. I find I’m really curious about the choice of arrangement, the song choice, the interpretation, staging etc . I believe The tenor soprano Kang HyungHo is in charge of Vocal Arrangements and production and the baritone tenor/musical theatre guy Bae Doohoon is in charge of Staging, the leggiero tenor is CHo MinGyu is also the leader of the group and the youngest ,Ko Woorim is the basso profundo voice … everyone is free to contribute though. I’m happy to be corrected if I’m wrong.

Originalmente ela é cantada pelo senhor q aparece no video algumas vezes, é um pop rock... porém o programa deixou livre a criatividade de como cantar alguma das musicas deles para quem se apresentou no dia.
Forestella havia chegado se sua 1° apresentacao fora da Coreia, foi em Dubai.... e eles transformaram esta musica em algo completamente diferente do original como você ouviu. 😅😅😅😅😅
