Yes Xavi is great, Iniesta is also great and so are many others, but this guy led R. Madrid to 4 consecutive UCL alongside CR7, he took Croatia to WC finals, at 36 one of the key players. His only negative trait is that he comes from small nation. If he was English, French, German it would be totally different story. Modric is amazing but that doesn't make him as good as Xavi and Iniesta. He can be an all time great and still not be the greatest of all time. There's very few players in the modern game ahead of him - Xavi, Iniesta, Zidane, Platini and Matthaus are the only ones that stand out to me. After that Modric has as good a claim as any.

Kaka from 2004-2009 imo is clear of any #10 I've ever seen...dude made me fall in love with football.He was unapologetically direct and had no time for circus tricks,he knew what the mission was from the moment he stepped on the pitch. 10/10 technical ability,10/10 passing,10/10 dribbling,10/10 pace.And he had world class finishing and a devastating shot from range.Put some respect on his name.

What puts Modric above all the others for me personally is his longevity. At his age all the other greats where either playing in retirement leagues or they were retired, meanhwile he is still a key player for the biggest club in football history.
Modric to me has been the best midfielder from 2014 . he can play anywhere in midfield and still be more consistent than your fav midfield. he is in the same class bracket as Iniesta, Xavi, Pirlo, Scholes, Matthaus etc.

Pirlo on the other hand was not able to play anywhere. Pirlo was a fantastic player but not at the level of Zidane, Maradona, Pele, Beckenbauer or Cruijff. I could imagine any of the above players anywhere in the attacking set up and still being the best on the pitch but I could not imagine that with Pirlo.

considering how much ancelotti loved seedorf when he was at milan he virtually played every game under carlo to drop him for modric and lampard that shows how much he thinks of those two players.
Modric is an incredible player, he has great positioning, incredible close control and as this insane ability to use the outside of his foot with ease. Hes so underrated.
And to think people kept calling him overrated when he won ballon d or... Modric is pure class, One of the best midfielders of all time. My personal favorite next to Zidane.

That's such bullshit tbh. Everyone knows Modric is one of the best players in the world and one of the greatest midfielders of all time. But some people say he is the greatest midfielder of all time. We're allowed to believe Iniesta and Xavi were better whilst still appreciating Modric's quality. Saying he's underrated when literally everyone acknowledges him as one of the greatest of all time makes no sense.
Ancelotti didn't even work with Thiago for over a year and a half, and yet was considering between him and lamps for the final spot, thiago is class acknowledged from the best

What puts Modric above all the others for me personally is his longevity. At his age all the other greats where either playing in retirement leagues or they were retired, meanhwile he is still a key player for the biggest club in football history.

Modric to me has been the best midfielder from 2014 . he can play anywhere in midfield and still be more consistent than your fav midfield. he is in the same class bracket as Iniesta, Xavi, Pirlo, Scholes, Matthaus etc.

Zidane could play right in the centre of midfield and had done so on many occasions. Zidane was that good he could play anywhere on the pitch. Pirlo on the other hand was not able to play anywhere.
Pirlo was a fantastic player but not at the level of Zidane, Maradona, Pele, Beckenbauer or Cruijff.
I could imagine any of the above players anywhere in the attacking set up and still being the best on the pitch but I could not imagine that with Pirlo.
