No this one is no different, this does filter the line as good as inverters that regenerate a perfect 60 cycle sine wave, however I'll stick with inverters this guy is snake oil. The big joke about power conditioning is, if you take a direct lightning strike anywhere close by if you live through it. Everything is a piece of melted metal.
AND we will get rid of the IEC cable and go to something like the Neutrik, only bigger if we are going to four wire 230v. In Europe some houses actually have three phase drops. That would be ideal but most Utilities in North America will not provide three phase to domestic customers, because reasons, as Steve Sailer would say. (Too bad for us Monarch 10EE thyratron controlled lathe owners...)
SpeakerPower amplifiers, made in the US, with US sourced parts. They offer 240v amplifiers. I own 5 of their amplifiers. With regard to the metrics that matter... low output impedance, and sustainable power output, the finest subwoofer amplifiers available.
Guys, next time show us how much spilling there is from one plug to the other, like this kind soul shows in this video: ruclips.net/video/JmYeG5ziTi4/видео.html Spoiler: the Niagara 1000 doesn't cut it. So I'm asking for the rest of the AudioQuest line; the 1200, the 3000, the 5000 and the 7000. TYVM.
Those power noise meters are interesting. I got the $150 Badaa unit and it reads just above zero. Hmmmmm ... 🤔 Is there a 30 day return policy for this? If there is then just try it out. The proof of the pudding ... better than calling it out as snake oil. Once you try it and find it does it does not work then voila! The truth shall prevail. 😬
I would only consider the bigger 7000 model, much better or then go with the gigawatt pc4 evo 4 with DC filter if you want that clear modern sound. Personally I have Isol 8 mini sub axis which I consider the one beating all of these in regards to overall sound especially naturalness. But yeah, if you absolutely have to have the most clear and bombastic sound out there then the top Niagara 7000 model and Gigawatt is the way to go.
It lowers the noise floor to non existant bringing more definition tight bass giving the bass more slam and meat on the bone and more transients to all frequencies.
moukie bengal ... I’m not a big believer but am willing to try. Just that my amp has 288k of caps, so I wonder if it will even bring any improvement. Thanks!
I auditioned the Niagara 1000 and 5000, they superimpose the sound, it becomes too technical and analytical and not natural one bit. I decided to go with someone else.
Wow, 8 watt amps. That's almost as much power as my coffee maker. Better make sure you spend eleventy bajillion dollars on those bad boys to make sure they have "clean power."
I agree with you, Garth is a Bozo, but bringing single ended audio amps into it is a entirely different subject. Your obviously not update on Tube amplifiers. One 8 watt 300b amp is a monster that will compete with solid state amplifiers rated at 200 watts. It's extremely high end boutique hifi for the real enthusiast.
@@astralboy Already have a PSM-156 here for demo stay. Much better than the Niagara 5000 for a fraction of the cost. Still prefer a decent, star-wired, non-filtered distribution blocks (which puritan do too). I know mains quality varies and maybe I am just lucky with my supply.
The thing is …. None of you naysayers has tried this. I think AQ is over the top with marketing, BUT … I am in the middle of an eval of Type 9 DBS speaker cables vs. WireWorld Mini 8. I can tell you there ARE differences. And an aftermarket though inexpensive, beefy power cable I bought for my amp made a difference. I am absolutely certain that NONE of you have any experience with the products you crap on.
He’s not a marketing guy Garth . This is really bad marketing from Audoquest. I know these work but saying wires are directional with so many cynics around, doesn’t help your cause. Kevin by himself is better art selling this. Do they work, yes in my opinion.Have never seen an audioquest one though.
Snake oil. I am an electrical engineer with 40 years experience in design. These power conditioners solve problems that dont exist. The power supply in you electronics provides all the filtering and regulation you will ever need. Audioquest is obviously doing a promo program as review of their piece of junk are appearing all over the place. I liken buying a power conditioner to buying an additional special 500 fuel filter for you car. Your car already has a filter so why buy another one, it is duplication of function. I will bet money that there is not a person alive that can A/B a power conditioned system and correctly identify it in blind tests.
Plus, you can see for yourself on the noise analyser that it reads triple zero. The noise from the a/c line that comes into your house goes to your amp and smears the sound, badly. If you don't remove it, you don't know what you are missing. One might say it is like the Claritin commercial. Your music becomes "Claritin clear" for lack of a better description. The people at Upscale Audio are the best in the business. They know their stuff and give their customers the best service, period.
@- I guess I was just being a smart ass with my above comment... I wouldn't call a power conditioner Snake Oil. Fact: there is "noise" that runs through power lines (yes, I know. Your going to tell me very little and no need to worry about it.) The question is, how does it go about removing such noise and is it causing harm to the reproduction of music. What is the best way? Good question, that is subjective. Almost everybody "hears" something different.
This is a comedy :D but REALLY entertaining AudioQuest's 'engieneer' talks snake oil to another snake oil non-engieneer, no technical background guy. Both nodding at the end of each sentence. It is pure copper bullshit. But fun to watch though.
Ronen Z I bought Niagara 1200, the lower tier. It does something to sound quality, tho not entirely positive. It sounds cleaner, but more sterile. I think I am going to return it.
To be honest.. this is not necessary .. and overpriced! .. I just used an APC UPS, it has enough battery backup to save my devices from occasional power outages and has all the power conditioning needed.. never caused any static noises or distortions, nor it caused any discomfort in my music listening or caused any loss in dynamics.. and it caused around ~$120 US dollars.. The only thing i have added is a dedicated ground wiring for the equipment circuit with a separate earthing to isolate ground noise from other home components.. I do that for my editing system as well
Hey man! Out of all the comments I've read here, Your sounds most genuine and sensible. Infact, I'm thinking to do the same. To get a APC UPS. Which model UPS did you get? And can you elaborate what you did with grounding wire? I want to understand it better and do that at my place also. Thank You!
@@ratedrsuperstarthega i used an Apc 1200VA ups and the grounding is traditional grounding for house, copper wire down to earth.. only this time it's not for the whole house only to the power socket I plug my ups to.. so it's not sharing the grounding to any other equipment in my house.. the ups will stabilize other fluctuations in electric supply and gives a 30 min backup when power is out..

There is something absurd from those who will watch this video and hate on the product without ever actually hearing it. Give it a try, as you say.
I noticed he turned on the power after you done the test😂
5:13 LOL he got startled
When we get real serious about audio in the US we'll go to 230 v balanced power, like your clothes dryer, range and air conditioner use.
Why not pick up a balanced power transformer which. Do the same thing- +60, -60. which will cancel out noise.
🧐Now go do that voodoo that you do so well. 👍👍👍
TYVM.
I got one after this video 😂
Whoops @13:20
Oh dear
Those power noise meters are interesting. I got the $150 Badaa unit and it reads just above zero. Hmmmmm ... 🤔
Is there a 30 day return policy for this?
Garth Powell, Supreme Snake-Oil Overlord @ AudioQuest Power division.
I have the Niagara 5000 for 2 years , best investment i've made , just sayin
moukie bengal ... how much difference does it make? I’m curious.
Thanks!
@@hushpuppykl
If you do try, I'd certainly experiment with it ahead of the entire rig ... not merely amplification.
I auditioned the Niagara 1000 and 5000, they superimpose the sound, it becomes too technical and analytical and not natural one bit. I decided to go with someone else.
The Achilles heel of any Hi-Fi system is the purchase of a power conditioner that cost $3000.
Lol. Didn’t realize Upscale Audio sold snake oil. I liked your store too. Oh well.
Wow! Only $5,000???? That’s soooooo CHEAP
9:35 point to point wiring... on PCB board :D omg.
Compare the 5000 to the 3000 with a real world review, please?
Never going to happen!
very cinematic, i think he can act in hwood if he wants to
I come here for my quota of my ‘snake oil’ , yum 😋
Wow, 8 watt amps. That's almost as much power as my coffee maker. Better make sure you spend eleventy bajillion dollars on those bad boys to make sure they have "clean power."
He talking about single ended tube stuff, completely different level of Audio 300B tubes and bigger.
The look on his face when he said NO! 5:57
John Gaspar lmaooooo
I listened to a 5000 and it killed my soundstage though think I must have clean-ish mains where I live.
puritan audio next ?
He always sounds to well rehearsed
Of course it’s great, €1500 margin means great in dealer speak…
He’s not a marketing guy Garth . This is really bad marketing from Audoquest. I know these work but saying wires are directional with so many cynics around, doesn’t help your cause. Kevin by himself is better art selling this. Do they work, yes in my opinion.Have never seen an audioquest one though.
Ohhhh the under the table magic trick lol😅😂; not saying it doesn’t work but this display looks sketch as hell
So if you have 3k, give them to us. The video is oily.
11:46 unbelievable... unbelievable... BS :D
Don't kill your credibility this way, please!
$3000 for that thing is totally absurd. I've been a self admitted audiophile for 40 years, but this junk selling for thousands is flat batshit.
S Karlsson - stay away from batshit, it gives you covid.
Other than an appeal to emotion no proof provided for the premise of spending "thousands are flat batshit".
@@ikol798 Send me $10k and I'll massage your power cables until the electrons flow smoothly. Prove that doesn't work or send me $10k.
From the company that brings you cables that have batteries. No thank you.
:D:D exactly what i thought
Exactly, I had some AQ Big Sur cables and I don't feel they were any better than the RadioShack cables they replaced.
KD is very animated in his way of selling snake oil.
@ Ha ha yeah
@- I guess I was just being a smart ass with my above comment...
I wouldn't call a power conditioner Snake Oil. Fact: there is "noise" that runs through power lines (yes, I know. Your going to tell me very little and no need to worry about it.) The question is, how does it go about removing such noise and is it causing harm to the reproduction of music. What is the best way? Good question, that is subjective. Almost everybody "hears" something different.
This is a comedy :D but REALLY entertaining
AudioQuest's 'engieneer' talks snake oil to another snake oil non-engieneer, no technical background guy.
Both nodding at the end of each sentence. It is pure copper bullshit.
But fun to watch though.
I just bought one, I'll return it if it doesn't improve sound quality
Allan Sh : Thanks. Please reply with conclusion if possible
Ronen Z I bought Niagara 1200, the lower tier. It does something to sound quality, tho not entirely positive. It sounds cleaner, but more sterile. I think I am going to return it.
Who's the women snapping her fingers all the time?
This is a bit of a scam as most modern age components do this work for you
Nope.
Thank You!
how you can added a dedicated ground wiring to the fuse box???
@@ratedrsuperstarthega i used an Apc 1200VA ups and the grounding is traditional grounding for house, copper wire down to earth.. only this time it's not for the whole house only to the power socket I plug my ups to.. so it's not sharing the grounding to any other equipment in my house.. the ups will stabilize other fluctuations in electric supply and gives a 30 min backup when power is out..
@@josephlai99 not to the fuse box.. on to the socket you plug your devices to.. you can add a dedicated breaker box if you are concerned about short circuit.
@@Hkmmotologs thanks!
"Dissipate the noise back to earth" - makes Dr. Oz look like an amateur
The fat guy is a stage actor. He is an engineer, a drummer, AudioQuest salesman, CEO, MD, an architect, a geography teacher, a wire/cable trainer, a snake oil salesman whatever he needs to be. Lol
I smell something...smells like...reptile
Hey look, another product that no professional or engineer will ever use unless heavily sponsored to pander some bullshit *like directional ALTERNATING CURRENT*
Amir from audio science review to the rescue.
*SNAKE OIL**
Garth Powell reminds me of the scientist/engineers working for Exxon oil who argued their pollution doesn't impact climate. @Garth. Come back from the Dark Side! You are too smart to peddle this non-sense.
so much bs , more money to be made. yea right.
Directionally controlled wires? What the fuck are you babbling about?
People who cry "snake oil" at the very mention of pricier cables, power conditioners etc. are even more annoying and tedious than the idiots who make a point of telling everyone they're vegan and gluten-free within five minutes of meeting them.
@Jackie....I don't think most just cry 'snake oil'. I think most say...show me your measurements/science to back up any purported claims of better performance/sound.
That's a big difference to your suggestion.
Thanks
You can bet that all the people calling it snake oil have never heard any of this stuff and probably have el cheapo made in China junk for their stereo systems.
@@nostro1001 why do I need measurements/science to convince me when I can try it and see if my ears can notice a sound improvement in the music due to lower noise floor. Do you need to see the ingredients in a cake to convince you one cake tastes better than another or do you taste both and decide for yourself which one tastes better.
If you have $3000+ to spend on a power strip, then you aren't being taxed enough lol
I like you Kevin. Sorry but this is absolutely 💯 BS.
I don’t know which one of them is more of a snake oil salesman...
It has never, ever been proved that a power conditioner can better the sound. Nothing but psychoacoustics and a waste of money Let's have an A/B test behind curtains. Mind you, the human brain can only retain a musical impression for a very short time.
The skinny guy seems like he's wasted.
