I’m so glad that you loved The Spear Cuts Through Water! I have had your My Effin’ Life review video on my Watch Later list and will one day watch it when my husband finally finishes reading the book. 🤣
Great to see your enthusiasm for Jack Vance. There is one more book which is 'A Quest for Simbilis' by Michael Shea. It is his first novel, was authorized by Vance and is a direct sequel to 'Eyes of the Overworld'. This book was published in 1974 before 'Cugel's Saga', and gives an alternate story for Cugel. Shea was not a prolific writer, but his work is really good. His second novel "The Color Out of Time" is one of the best non-Lovecraft Lovecraftian books I have read, but his best are probably the 'Nifft the Lean' sword and sorcery books.
I've been accumulating books for decades and while I still love the book as an object, when it comes to just plain entertainment reading - ebooks are better.
Great month and nice tbr, I watched most of your reviews and really enjoyed them. I want to read all the Howard Conan books at some point. Long Tomorrow I want to read in the next month or so. Started Confederacy of Dunces audiobooks and I'm enjoying it so far.
I'm glad you are enjoying it! I'm listening to it right now and it is as good as I remember. I highly recommend The Del Rey Illustrated collection when you read Conan. The vintage paperbacks are full of pastiches written by Lin Carter and L. Sprague DeCamp.
One could say, you were cookin' this month. I really need to get to Zelazny! Also, holy shit, Reginald D Hunter narrated the audiobook for A Confederacy of Dunces! Downloading that now ... C.
Your version of Confederacy has a different narrator 🤯. Is Reginald D Hunter a good narrator? Part of the charm of the book are the New Orleans accents.
Dang! You did some reading. Very nice. I’m about to finish a Malazan novel. Have not been able to read much outside of the series in fear I forget what’s going on. Jealous of the variety in your reading. I might take a break this upcoming month to read a few shorter novels.
When it comes to Malazan it really depends on which book is next. The first three work best reading them all at once. 4 and 5 are okay to take a break between. But the deeper you go the harder it is to pull away. I need to start fitting the Esselmont stuff into my TBR along with The God is Not Willing and Erikson's Malazan novellas. April might be the month of the chonkers for me. I have a few big books I might start that are all over 900 pages long 😵
@@JosephReadsBooks just finished house of chains. Was a heavy read. I’ve been reading them straight through for a couple months now. Your videos keep tempting to break away for some zelazny.
every format of a book has a place. thx
LFG!!!

I discovered your channel today through this video - and I'm so glad that I did! Adding "The Long Tomorrow" to my wishlist. Happy Reading! 😎📚👍
Thanks for watching!
Nice it’s amazing how much we can read when we actually prioritize it. Can’t wait to try some Jimenez and Vance and Cook!
I totally agree. I just hope my brain can hold on to all this extra reading 😅.

I will keep an eye out for those. Thanks!

I'm starting to feel the same about ebooks. It is just so convenient.

@@JosephReadsBooks Good to know, I've been on the lookout for those editions, there are 3 total as far as I know.
@@sfwordsofwonder yup there are three.
The Coming of Conan the Cimmerian
The Bloody Crown of Conan
The Conquering Sword of Conan

@@JosephReadsBooks he's a famous comedian with a great voice anyway!
@@storytoob I listened to the demo and he sounded good. I might try and find that copy for the next time I read it.

Use of Weapons let's goooooooooooo. Media Death Cult has a great interview with Peter Kenny who is the voice of The Culture.
I will definitely check out that interview!
Ooh, thanks. I really enjoy Peter Kenny’s narration of the series. I don’t know why Toby Longworth (who I also enjoyed) was drafted in for one book
Reading and listening to podcasts, etc, is productivity to you? And here I am, feeling guilty because of how I prioritize my time lately. lol
I listen to podcasts while I'm cleaning my house or doing yard work 😂. I'm getting things done.
