  • In this heated episode of the Blood Brothers podcast, Hamza Tzortzis and Dilly Hussain thrash out some unresolved issues between each other. #BloodBrothersPodcast #HamzaTzortzis #IERA
Hamza explains how and why he has "transformed" over the years from the once fiery debater to a more grounded Muslim apologist.
Topics of discussion also include Hamza's avoidance of discussing sociopolitical issues, IERA's new dawah ethos focused around love, mercy and compassion, as well as personal and long lasting differences between him and Dilly.

CALL OF DUTY FOR THE UMMAH
Speak to your local imam regarding lining heels straight for salah and standing shoulder to shoulder... for the sake of the ummah!
My request is please speak to your local imam. Tell him to announce before the prayer in English language or another language the people understand. Please line up straight by the heels and stand shoulder to shoulder.
There is no point saying it in Arabic. Because the majority of people do not understand Arabic. The Prophet peace be upon Him spoke in a language people understand.
We are taught to line up straight by the HEELS, to stand shoulder to shoulder.
Nu’man ibn Bashir (May Allah be pleased with Him) reported, “I heard the Messenger of God (peace be upon Him) say: Straighten the rows, or Allah will create DISSENSION amongst you”. Sahih Muslim
It is agreed that at least 1 in 5 members of the congregational prayer do NOT line up straight by the HEELS.
There are scholars who have said not lining up straight in the salah is a MAJOR SIN because it leads to disunity.
If we do not put pressure on our leaders things will never change
CALL OF DUTY FOR THE UMMAH
Speak to your local imam to announce this in English etc before the prayer for the sake of the ummah!

Very good discussion and good questions. Br Hamza defended his position well.
It is foolish to compare an organization to the comprehensiveness and balance of a Prophet's character. Organizations are individuals coming together for a specific set of objectives. There's no way any organisation can do everything within the Islamic paradigm comprehensively. Such polemics are used frequently within muslims to further sectarian agendas and discredit other Muslim organizations.
As long as an organisation is conscious of its own paradigm, where its borders lie and what lies outside it, and is appreciative of the work of those organisations working outside their paradigm, they're all a beautiful piece in the mosaic of Islamic community.

A fiery discussion between two bold, fiery brothers- below some points covered in the discussion, forgive me if the terms I have used are too loaded or misrepresentative of either interlocutor:-
    - Ghazali vs Ibn Taymiyah illustrates the shallow dichomotisation/tribalisation often associated with in Islamic circles of knowledge and practice
    - the complexity/difficulty/trial of ikhlaas (sincerity) as a preacher, public Muslim intellectual
    - Dilly put pressure on Hamza and his affiliate organisations to address socio-political issues, going beyond theology, spirituality and philosophy
    - Islamic moral philosophy/maslaha vs secular liberalism
    - to give dawah and encourage maslaha using Surah Taha 44- Musa encouraged to speak to Firawn (initially) with a soft/gentle tone
    - How liberalism/libertarianism ultimately seeks the unlimited freedom only found in God, Allah
    - the psychological necessity of putting things in the God basket e.g. Christchurch, Uyghur genocide and other very complex issues- not ignoring them or excusing them in any shape or form- but foundationally excepting the complexity and painful nature of these situations
    - unclouding, de-nebulising the fitrah in the modern world- uncovering the truth from within- the most direct way to enlightenment
    - addressing apostasy in the modern world 1) Muslim community as lagging on so many levels- micro and macro- which psychologically, spiritually, socially and materially makes many Muslims feel disadvantaged and pushes them away from the Islamic centre 2) science, modernism, Darwinism and other intellectual shubuhaat 3) kibr, ego and desires (think Surah Maryam- 'But there came after them successors who neglected prayer and pursued desires; so they are going to meet evil')
    - Surah Yusuf as a lesson in humility and the 'tarbiyah of life' via trials for sayidinna Yusuf's brothers
    - discussing the cultural-religious divide in Turkey characterised by movements like Kemalism
    - 'the Muslim is the mirror of his brother' (so mirror him as best as you can!)
    - the longing and need for the love and ma'rifatu of Allah (signpost to his fantastic book The Divine Reality)

Dilly Hussain comes across as a pretentious, arrogant journalist - incessantly belittling Hamza even when serious topics are discussed. You could have honestly switched him with Piers Morgan with a very similar outcome, which is bizarre given that he's a Muslim and that matters pertaining to the Deen were being discussed. He's used to the self-serving one-upmanship modus operandi of political pundits and wants to bring this into the da'wah.
Instead of contributing meaningfully to issues that are of great importance, he contends himself with cheap gimmicks and vacuous, rapid-fired oneliners. Part of me thinks he probably wouldn't have been able to engage with Hamza meaningfully. What a shame!

@@5Pillars that was due to Hamza’s patience and elegance, Dilly seems like compensating for something by being overly agitated, and straight out rude for sake of being confrontational. I am glad that he is working on his ego.

    dear hamza,
I am saying this as a turk:
you were right in what you said about mustafa kemal, his ideology was to fight against islam, so it was right to say that he was a shaytan. the only mistake you made was to believe that erdogan and his party has anything in common with islam... maybe that was the reason you thought you can talk about this topic in this way. actually there is no free speech in turkey and there never be will.
I really appreciate you brother, but really it was a mistake at that day to talk positive about erdogan and his party...
erdogan is a person who said just about one year ago "you cannot rule with the islamic law today, the islamic rules are not actual anymore and we have to actualize and change them". you have to admit that this is kufr (like a lot of other statements he made during the last years).
everything you said about kemalizm in turkey was right, your only mistake was to talk positive about erdogans politics and that is the only thing you should regret in my opinion.
    dear brothers in islam,
keep in mind that erdogan puts a lot of alims (for example 'Alparslan Kuytul') in jail only because of the fact they critcize him for wrong actions he did. so as a turk for me it is really sad to see that out of turkey some muslims think that his party has anything in common with islam... believe me it is not.
they only use islamic elements to win the elections but more and more people in turkey realize that it is all fake behaviour.
dear hamza, keep on your good work, me myself I will always try to follow your work ☺️
but as an advice from your turkish brother, please avoid going to turkey, really everything could happen, probably they would put you in jail...
unfortunately most turcs even fall into shirk in my opinion because they love mustafa kemal more than anything else. When I think about the hadith of the prophet pbuh that we should love him the most even more than our parents then I can really say that most turcs replaced this hadith with mustafa kemal.
it is a topic we could write and talk about hours but I try to stop here... may Allah give you much baraka in your work.

Brother where does Erdoğan say this? Can you provide a link?

    • @q-tip1509
      @q-tip1509 4 года назад +2

@@haruna5063 I think you speak turkish, right? try this link: ruclips.net/video/uR5DA7i3aIs/видео.html it is kufr what he is saying here. he has the same way of a so called modern understanding of a changed islam like Fethullah gülen and his followers for example also have. An islam without the law that came 1400 or 1500 years ago like erdogan says in his own words. Like he says an actualized and changed islam with the laws they created by their own. actually this is what mustafa kemal also did, creating an own law without the islamic rules. I think that this is the reason why his party members and erdogan himself were in a really deep relationship with the Fethullah gülen movement over so many years (remember that erdogan and his pary members were saying that Fethullah is the greatest alim in many of their speeches and that they appreciate him the most). they are brothers in their own sect. the reason why they are not in common anymore is because of other political topics regarding to the power structure within the state. Keep in mind that this link I sent you is only one small example... there are so many statements where he is in kufr for example when he says that every state should be secular and not rule with the islamic law, he did that for example in egypt and tunisia some years ago where he adviced them to stay secular. really, if you make some researches you will find a lot of statements like this.

@@5Pillars nevermind, I continued watching the rest of the video and realized they really do have alot to disagree on. So far Dilly brings up some pretty valid criticism. But Hamza also has very valid responses. So I kinda agree with both of them. But I really did not like that Hamza failed to realize that half a million Syrian Muslim people have been massacred by the Assad regime.
