This is one of the great things about Twin Peaks. Aside from its depictions of horror and sadness, it also depicts wholesomeness and silliness, all of which are inherent in real life. This is why all of these depictions feel real and can carry a punch, because they exist within a greater context. It's a series that refuses to be categorized as horror, action or comedy and instead chooses to embrace all of those elements as part of the human experience.
Many shows (walking dead) force drama by having everyone not communicate anything with eachother, meaning every problem would be solved if they all just sat and talked in one big room. Twin Peaks seems to do the complete opposite and I absolutely love it. People appreciate things, compliment eachother, share how they feel. The show has darkness, but it's not just darkness and cynicism, it has a bright side and a dark side. Even in more lighthearted shows, everyone is at each other's throats. Everybody loves raymond is pretty depressing when you watch it without a laugh track. Twin Peaks feels like I am looking into a real small town that is full of light, but the darkness beneath the surface is now oozing into the community.

Deadly Premonition felt like 'what if a japanese Twin Peaks fan made a game.' The 'japanese people's idea of Americans' and weird regional humor added to the experience though. I'd say even the jankiness of the combat was a positive in a roundabout way.

I love the combination of humor, tragedy, horror, detective mystery, psychological thriller in Twin Peaks. It makes the show stand out all the more to me. And it sucked me into its bizarre world and got me to love the characters so much. Twin Peaks is a masterwork of TV.

From what I can remember, Dale doesn't seem to have a single bad thing to say to any of the cups of coffee he is given.
You seem to have forgotten the infamous fish-flavored coffee.

daledheyalef Blame Pete Martell, I guess.
In The Tapes of Dale Cooper, he mentions that he hates the coffee given to him in the airport.
He didn't enjoy the fish-flavored coffee.
I like how he excuses his strong language.
