@@pishedbloke ya, but not cheap...yong tau foo Rm2.20/piece. Tai Lok Meen not all area are good taste, so-so only & expensive also, Rm22/bowl for 2 person, ingredients also not much. You can judge, mostly KL people prefer Penang when come to holiday season... 😄😄
@@ultimatewarrior4630 Wow... then you guys better come here and eat more hehehe. Actually I like going to Klang and Sekinchan also... outside KL a bit lah.
@@pishedbloke Yes, Klang, Kuala Selangor & Sekinchan...more on seafood but nowadays everything's expensive liao..😅.(if you know local there, they might bring u to Tg.Karang, seafood Restaurant is reasonable price & taste also good). Penang still KL people favorite, food heaven 😋😋& the beach.. 👍👍
I hv lived in Pg for more thn 60 yrs n nvr knew thrs such a great wanton mee stall at Weld Quay. I shall try to make a visit to d stall but i hv to struggle to wake up early. Thank you for yr video, hope to dscover more good food places from yr videos.
Sir, it was my first time too eating there. Penang has many famous and viral places... and I also usually go to the same stalls out of habit. 😁 My friend told me about this place so I had to try it, previously it was only RM3.80 a plate which is pretty unheard of these days!
@@pishedbloke Oh thank you for sharing. I know d place, been thr once but for d economy rice. Its a far more convenient place, n thankfully, its open til abt noon bcos i m a late riser.

The old style wantan mee that I have seen before. Glad it's still existed in Penang. As for this bro. He had big noodle and sizes of it, a lots. Well, good for you bro.
Ya I really like these old school places, they bring back nice memories of my childhood, eating with my uncle in a kopitiam just like this one. Must continue to support them, not sure if future generations want to keep this business going.
3:14 some of the shops along weld Quay open very early. I passed by weld Quay every morning and noticed one or two shops already have people eating at around 6am plus.
I wonder why... I actually know another noodle place which opens for business at 1am! It is on the corner of Lebuh Melayu and Beach street. Must be a niche crowd LOL
@@pishedblokeyeah somehow some of these stalls/eateries have their niche groups. Sulaiman nasi kandar also used to have their niche crowd before covid. The 4am crowd. Now no more since they open starting 6:45 am. On another note, there's a nasi dalca stall in bazaar ramadan nusantara (Jalan Makloom) which is really delicious, the lauk are chicken, beef and mutton. The name is abdul Rahim nasi dalca (no relations to nasi dalca rahim, Queen Street). They only open during ramadan. If you have time, do check it out but also giving you a heads up, sometimes they're not open randomly. Atill there at Jalan Makloom bazaar there are some good selections of delicious and cheap food.
That is a good question. I think they taste very different. Chee Meng is very packed these days because they only open on Fri-Sun mornings. The sauce recipe is different, CM is a bit more peppery and a bit more wet, while Uncle Monster's is those dark, thick sauce and a bit more dry ( sometimes a bit too dry TBH). I do like CM but the waiting time is a bit of a hassle so depending on my mood I think both are nice. A few other notable WTM places are Maria's at Burmah Road (this is my favourite actually), the Cecil Street market WTM and uncle's WTM at the junction of Penang Road/Kimberley Street ( I made a video about this one, not many people know this stall ruclips.net/video/amp5nwL0Bfo/видео.htmlsi=txkxbuZliXnhI3-H )
KL wantan mee I like the char siu usually it is the highlight of the dish! In Penang, usually the noodles and sauce is the main attraction. Plus at this price... I really can't argue 😂😂😂
@@pishedbloke I got to go and make a short trip to Penang one of these days to try out the food recommendations. Saw the other stall you mentioned the WTM was very good

Thanks for sharing authetic wantan noodles
Welcome... sharing is caring! :)
Quality & DELICIOUS are Penang's standard !!
Worthy every cent!
Hard working old man !
Really respect the two of them. Wish them good health always.
Penang people are very lucky, got many good taste food and cheaper.... 😁 in KL wanton mee RM8.50. 😅😅
Wahhhh, but I heard that KL portions are usually very big. KL food is also very nice especially tai lok meen and yong tau foo and many others.

The food looks really delicious. Uncle n auntie are such a hard working old couple .
Yes, poor auntie looks like her osteoporosis is quite bad
Hidden gem in plain sight! Interesting story on the origin of the name haha
You might want to try the Bamboo Noodle at maps.app.goo.gl/RhFV1dM7LAQbn1TF8?g_st=ac. It is like wtm but very nice noodle texture and lovely wantons
Long time I didn't go... must go again soon
Nice wanton mi😢😊

Hi, the Google Maps location is in the description. 😄
Bigger portions than KL.

Just a tip...for a Canadian to understand the way you speak you have to speak slower but as for me please don't change.
support small businesses!
Yes please support!
KL and Klang Valley WTM is easily RM 8 or RM 9 already
Actually most stalls in Penang are around RM5.50. This stall is quite cheap

I just know that chinese penang talk in hokkien
Yes we talk Northern Malaysian Hokkien, same as in Kedah and Perlis. I believe it is also similar to the Hokkien in Medan, Indonesia. 😁
order 听了都头晕。。。。 一个汤的两个干的 1个大两个小。 那么那个大的到底是汤还是干也没讲清楚。 晕 😅😅😅😅
Hahahahaha
Those early customers are those going home from ‘night business/activity’--‘armkong chiao’, most probably🫢
Maybe lah but most places close around midnight after the pandemic... hardly any late places left in Penang (as far as I know LOL).
