If you pay closer attention to the episode you’ll see her powers are more so telekinesis and with that she can crush people, meanwhile the congresswoman’s powers are definitely more of an explosion and so far it seems to only affect people.
This episode finally shows Homelander has finally snapped and has lost all of his sanity. I mean first he killed squad and has blood all over him, Stormfront got charred by his son, Ryan joins Butcher, and last scene shows him on top of building well u know doing what he wants.

You guys should check the boys diabolical. its an anthology spin-off series that tells different stories that aren't really connected with to the series but episode 8 is in fact canon and it tells the origin story of homelander so you should definitely check it out.
