Knowing the pending repercussions, all the sons of Awandu escaped across the lake hence the saying, "pap ochamo Awandu". The brothers were Rachuonyo, Njare, Chwanya Rakwar and Nyasgenga. It is not known where Nyasgenga went to. It is believed that Njare was assimilated by the Abagusii and gave rise to the Wanjare(Muksero). Rachuonyo on the other hand stayed by the lake, feeding on fish and papyrus.. Chien, who some people call Ndaya found Rachuonyo there and took him as his son. It happened that Chien in his old age had a young wife called Omieri who he had not had a child with. So he instructed that Rachuonyo marry her when he dies. When he died, the mother of Chien's sons did not want to let Rachuonyo inherit Omieri. So, she had Ditonge, her eldest son, marry Omieri. However, while consummating the marriage, he got stuck. Elders and jobilo had to be called to separate them. It was then agreed that Rachuonyo marries Omieri. With Omieri Rachuonyo had Sipul as his first son.....
The gentleman in confusing people. Chwanya and Rachuonyo are twice different persons. Chwanya is the forefather of Joka onyango Rabala(Kanyamwa, Kabuoch,Kadem...). While Rachuonyo is the grandfather of Jokarachuonyo. He is mixing the history of Jokarachuonyo with that of Jokachwanya.
