oh i like that video very much i like the videos talking about yourself more . probably because i think i am not so intrested in leetcoding at the moment i guess
It's the same as with any branding - there is a ton of bad content and advice online, so any source of credibility is helpful. This is especially true for educational content where the viewer may not be in a position to tell whether advice is bad.
legit the first thing i mention on dates is how i work at google. but the weirdest thing keeps happening?? it’s like the google-chad energy just possesses me and consumes me and next thing i know, it’s two hours later and i realize all i’ve talked about is how im better than everyone else for working at a FAANG company and people could be as successful as me if they just grinded harder… i.. wonder why i’ve never been called for a second date…. hm….
It's also weird with the public perception, i do work for a prestigious engineering company but no one would really care because no one thinks of it. The amount of Developer Expertise going into the Modeling and CAE at e.g. Airbus is insane, but Airbus doesn't really get any recognition in the Dev-Spaces despite being a generally well known company. More obscure ones Like PI, NewTech, Tews, Voit, don't have any chance at all, if you like have them in you bio
As a fellow FAANG engineer who also has a RUclips channel with over 100k subs I’ve seen it both ways. Some channels have blown up after they start mentioning they got a job at FAANG some don’t. Personally, I don’t think it helped my YT much, I had to grind for years to build my audience. I also don’t start every video as a FAANG engineer either …
It is, but the FAANG term is now just synonymous with Big Tech. A term I've heard more recently is the Mag7. Apple Microsoft Nvidia Alphabet Amazon Meta Tesla
at this point it is gullible to work at faang, Rus Coxx , Rob Pike , Ken worked at GOOGLE, they are god-tier devs due to some influencers you can't reject the fact that big companies don't have big developers, this statment doesn't deny whether a non-faang comany will have a big developer or not. it is the influence and brand culture. same with iphones, iphones are meant to be good , so as faang devs , its a branding and influence problem rather than tech problem
I am not sure how skilled he is, but a lot of people seem to like his teaching approach, which is somewhat gifted. I have watched a lot of brilliant people explain things, and it is terrible. Just Example Matt Holiday just 8k subscribers but his golang series is pure Gold
Why this happen, let me explain, we as a humans respect authorities and its not only related to tech, the same with Universities authority, its kind of cognitive bias from psychology, we will never be purely judged based on ours skills and knowledge, at least not by someone who is not aware of this bias, I also sometimes got couth in this trap even if I'm aware of this, authorities are playing a huge factor in situations like this, we perceive someone who has some title, like a Google engineer or looks better / have some kind of status for example a expensive car or clothes as a more competent person, I'm not saying that it is bad or good, it is what it is, there is more info about it in the book Influence Autor Robert B. Cialdini, Daniel Kahneman also has done some research about it in his book Thinking, fast and slow, be he rather spoke about halo effect.
I work as a staff security engineer with a lot of ex google/meta/etc software engineers. holy shit most of these engineers are so fucking bad. People need to realize just how much getting a FAANG job is actually just luck and that simply working at FAANG doesnt actually make you someone to look up to or a skilled engineer
Sometimes out in public you can almost smell the prestige emanating from FAANG engineers... or maybe that's just body odor
Lol😂
oh i like that video very much i like the videos talking about yourself more . probably because i think i am not so intrested in leetcoding at the moment i guess
No, I farted before we met up. My bad.
this is so good
youre so good
RUclips itself is a marketing platform now. Marketing doesn't care if you enjoy the product or not, if you buy the product, that's all that matter

You are one of the good ones.
I am also on the same, slow grind journey of building that audience, brother!
Facts
I'm a slow lousy coder but I know how to build software.
Why Microsoft is not in FAANG league?
It is, but the FAANG term is now just synonymous with Big Tech.
A term I've heard more recently is the Mag7.
Apple
Microsoft
Nvidia
Alphabet
Amazon
Meta
Tesla

it is the influence and brand culture.
same with iphones, iphones are meant to be good , so as faang devs , its a branding and influence problem rather than tech problem
I would give you sudo permissions to anything you wanted . I would let you log in as root

AUGGHHHHHHHH?

people either criticise faang or love them, nothing in between
i love and hate them

Humans do respect authority
