Ive built a rather extreme solar power system for my off grid travel trailer we stay in while not in the semi truck but im now wanting a good water system. Thanks for the video
Well done video. I've got 2 ibc totes I draw from and fill my onboard tank in my rv. I'm going to try hooking the 2 tanks together and then using this pump into my city water feed. Thanks for the video!!
@@desertcamel6685 I painted mine originally and that has worked. I also ended up purchasing some ibc covers from amazon after i painted them but if you put those on you can't tell how much water you have left. So painting was all I needed to do.
Quick question, but if the fresh water tank is already full; can you still pump water into the camper via city water connection? I just tried hooking up the hose to the city water port on my camper and water began spraying everywhere as soon as the pump kicked on. For the record, I’m also using a seaflo water pump. It’s pretty much the exact same model but it doesn’t have the regular plug like OP’s model. Instead, it has the positive and negative wires that hook up to a battery.
if you have power, is it solar? i may have missed it.. i thought you were off grid. great water situation.. we actually have the same pump, i use for my rain barrels to my camper.
There's a local that owns an artisian well and delivers water. He uses one of these tanks in the back of a pickup along with a gas water pump. Takes him about 8 minutes to fill me up.
I have an idea to basically double down on reducing the water tank to sunlight… hence the undesirable sequelae…. What ya think about painting the entire tank black?? ….
Awesome explanation! I'm looking to install a standalone water system for our chicken coop and garden with a buried tank. My question is, do you have any experience with these pumps hooked up to a float type valve? I would need that to fill the chicken's water reservoir. I'm trying to not need to include float switches and control circuits if needed, just not sure how this pump will do with a slow draw like a float valve does and concerned about the pump switching on and off all the time. Also considering just adding a small pressure tank to help with this small draw.
Cool video.... can you tell me where your other video is showing how you bring the water into the cabin and the fixtures there? I can't seem to find it? Thanks!
I don't use this system in the winter. The hoses would definitely freeze. In my old cabin we kept a 55 gallon water tank in the loft. This would benefit from the heat we used in the cabin to avoid freezing while still giving you "running" water.
@@zionmountainfarmky8210 if i have a property that is 6 feet up from a river.. can i use this pump to pump water directly from river to my house / water tank?
@@jessholmesy I suggest you do the math on what the pump is labeled to do, Its an equation we did but I cant say off the top of my head. I imagine it will but cant say for sure.
Hello me friend I'm doing the same set up I ready put everything together but me pump go on and off every 5 seconds and I don't have any licks on the sisten sink / toilet and shower I don't know if I need to regulate the pump I hope someone can help me out muchas gracias
This is potable. We get the water delivered from a local artesian well. I’m hoping to do a point well video in the near future so we can have water right on the property
What was stored in your tote? We bought 1 for cheap but labels were ripped off so i'm assuming chemicals. How would you clean these to at least be good enough to use to wash hands/shower/garden?

I thought I just heard you say the Adirondacks. I live in the southern Adirondacks. Lake George ny. Very cool
Nice setup, thanks for info.
Very nice! Thank you for this off grid diy video
Turn your pump filter 180 degrees so it catches sediment
How do they work in winter months ?
The tank and the water hoses would freeze.

This is absolutely a great video in the video you mentioned that you have a local guy that delivers water, can you tell me more about that
Why not rainwater tanks?
Where do you fill them when off grid

How do you refill the tank?

Your Fan From Omaha,
Editing the video as we speak. Thanks for watching!
How long does 275 gallons last under normal usage ya think?
2 people a week and a half in our case.
Cool video.... can you tell me where your other video is showing how you bring the water into the cabin and the fixtures there? I can't seem to find it? Thanks!
You should look into a ozone generator
how does this work when there are freezing temperatures outside?
What do you do during the winter??
Did you use a standard pallet under your IBC Tote or was it larger? Just wondering how you built your shed around it.
Hey man I want to use the lake water that’s 30 ft from my Trailer can I use that with lake water?
how do u keep it from freezing in the winter?
Any issues with freezing?

Is there enough pressure for a shower?
does that on demand pump have to be close to water?
can it be further and connected to supply by a longer hose?
ie: indoors, climate controlled
we have the same pump. seems 6 feet is the farthest we can go before we lost pressure.

I want to have ability for toilet and shower in cold. What do I hook up so water doesn’t freeze
Heat.
Depending how cold you get that foam for insulation for like a buck worked for us. We only get down to about 25 degrees Fahrenheit
Can you still drink it after adding the bleach?

Forgive my ignorance, this is not for potable water but rather grey?

@@ThisLifeOutdoors so all you have to do is run a filter system right ? and keep it at 68 degrees or below for cold tank I believe i read on it.
You got a vid of it in action I just bought one today an was wondering on how good the pressure was

Hi what about mold
Does any kind of bleach include scented?
If water leaks it will leak in the motor
Nice catch. I corrected that shortly after this video was filmed.
You have your pump upside down, warranty won't cover
No it’s not.
Spray paint it so it blocks the light. You're welcome
