Have you noticed how every year of this century has been the 'worst year ever' and then the next year we say 'that year seemed bad, but this one is even worse'.
Funeral March of Queen Mary from Clockwork Orange was the perfect accompaniment to the Brexit vote result. That's pretty much the sound of how I was feeling as I watched our country be destroyed.
He died on Christmas Day. 4 days before this aired and after post-production had already wrapped, so I doubt anybody was in a hurry to get back into the editing suite, hungover and burping up sage & onion stuffing on Boxing Day to add him in.
Some people were for leaving the EU because they are for as small a government as possible and the EU + the UK government is more government than just the UK government on it's own. For me personally I am for as much immigration as anyone wants and completely open borders but I view the EU as a huge unaccountable layer of government that I would like to not have ruling over me. I would prefer to not even have the British government ruling over me as well.
These shows used to make a whole shitty year worthwhile. Extremely cathartic. But then Charlie got horribly fucking lazy and couldn't find the time to make ONE EPISODE A YEAR. Of course it must be terribly time consuming coming up with new ways to say PhOnE bAd, so I can see why he's so busy with Black Mirror.
Ah, those blissfull times when we thought 2016 was the worst year ever.
This was the start. It's like a stick of Dynamite has blown up and we yearn for the time when it was first lit.
Who else is watching Charlie Brooker 2022; because we miss his unique sense of hilarious irony
i still miss brooker's on-screen persona to this day. his pandemic wipe was a gift
Me!
Yup, I wish he would come back to doing the wipes!
Watching in December 2022 and amazed that Cameron was the last sane prime minister.
I just miss the simpler better times of 2016
Watching this reminds me that everything we wished didn't happen in the future, did.
well the universe hasn't been ripped apart yet. so that's nice
the remain / leave campaign seems SUCH a long time ago now….
Still hoping Charlie will return this year.
Don’t u think they would be a Whipe if there could be
Bring back this show !!!!!!
If any of you have no idea where he is, he's at Thorpe Park.

Weird how that works.
2020 - I think I am officially the worst year of the century...
2021 - hold my beer
@@GenericGooner I don't really see how 2021 is worse than 2020 though
@@moipaslui2924 >he doesn’t know about november
@@reuben8140 You mean NOvember
The good old days
Thank you.
It's like as soon as Bowie passed away, the seal was broken and all the bad shit started happening for the next 5-6 years.
Good point! 👻 spooky. 😮
I need to renew my subscription to Bubble Dweller.
Yep, doesn't seem so bad now.
Hah!
Funny guy😂
The good old days 😭
best year of my life.
Watching this in 2022. I don't have much else to say.
Woo Boy it never let up did it
Back when Breakfast was the worst thing we Birts had to worry about
Hmm leaving the euro, hasn't really helped us. Look at the state we are in. Bring back brooker
Watching this in 2022 is fucking painful
I thought 2012 was as bad as it got. And then 2014. And then 2016. And then I stopped hoping for anything but our further survival.
🤔👍🇬🇧
2016 was bad but no where near as bad as 2020/21 🧐
🤔👍🇬🇧
All the years end up about the same after a few years
2022: :))))))))
50:41 this is still genius
15:39 Music anyone please?
So brexit wasn't breakfast?
Remoaningtons
Looking back this was an average year for the UK. Great show though. Before the shitstorm - tsunami of nonsense arrived to kill everyone's spirit.
fuck 2016 was fun compared to this year
Music at 49:46? What's the name?
Edvard Grieg's Suite No. 1, Op. 46 - I. Morning Mood
@@darklittlepoet Thanks mate!
Why don't you THINK before you ACT!!!
why was the queen's 9th birthday in March?
That claim that we wouldn’t suffer from Brexit… hilariously tragic 6 years on.

Not "destroyed". Really badly f**ked, I would say is more accurate. But yes, the music choice did fit well.
I am not for Corbyn or any politician but those were reserved seats on that train!
How did they miss George Michael
He died on Boxing Day 2016 - this would have been filmed and edited prior to that. Probably broadcast only days after his death.

38:57 clear as day EVERY seat reserved with a ticket inserted in the head rest. How the fuck did Sky news get away with their bullshit?

I can't understand how this guy made a show as blindingly brilliant as Cunk on Earth just five years after this witless sarcasm-fest.
Brian Cox talks unmitigated bollocks!
He's an expert at stuff that might happen in 4 billion years though.
