- David Hawcock's pitching his paper Pop-Up Chess Set in the hopes of an investment. He's seeking a £40,000 investment in exchange for 20% of his innovative business. Everyone in The Den seems impressed with David's product designs, so what kind of moves will The Dragons make when making an offer?

Interesting, I just can't see it with any longevity after a year maybe two. But they only invested what they would normally spend on a family vacation, so if they lose it it goes belly up no great loss

@@simonjohnson9055forgive me because I just started watching today but someone else already mentioned that Sara's insight wouldn't matter since he already knows his business, Peter being a marketer and supplier is really what the guy needs most of and long term wise both his businesses will prosper instead of just the one business.
His creations are fantastic and he got himself a good deal.

He couldn't see past the end of his nose on this one. "Why is it better than a normal chess set?" Because you can fold it up instantly and take it with you mid-game, doofus. And it's actually a completely different way to sell MULTIPLE types of board games. But even worse, the guy insisted that it had no value and kept going on about it.

Steven was knocking on this man's credentials by saying he didn't know how to run a business, only knew how to create products, thinking everyone else would think and do the same, and when it didn't happen, and to his surprise, not only did the others make great offers but came in under the asking amount he wanted.
The guy doesnt know what hes on about and cant take a debate at all. He cant see beyond his ego and "influencing"

Yes, to be honest i think Sara alone would be the best option since crafting could be part of the business but if Peter will get the other company to he could take it really far with all the productions. Tucker can also take it really far to the baby's world and that's why he fought for this. I love Deborah but on this one I can't see how she will push it 😅
Touker could also offer this chap some prime office space! Wonder if he can source better costs on paper (like he does with fabric) for the company...? Enquiring minds want to know! 🤔😉
I feel he was a bit sexist in his decision. I hope I'm wrong. Sara did seem to be the expert in the market, and Peter was the first to get the best way forward.

Not really. The shirt reads the Queen’s Gambit in chess notation, so it matches with his pitch.
But in the past Peter has not invested cause a guy hasn’t earn a suit to the pitch

He did a great job with his decision.
Not sure why he wouldn't ask Peter and Sarah to combine. Those would have brought different things to the table. Now het gets two pretty much in the same area.
the Dragons know this guy gets a steady stream of commissions, taking a % of those makes this much more low risk. The only question is how much will he need help to run the business side, when the big ticket commissions come in.
I had a look on Amazon but wasn't there, perhaps he has done his work elsewhere, good luck David!

He is a genius on his craft, but naive in business. Sarah's offer has the best by far. Peter knew he was ripping off the guy and everyone else just realized they could do the same.
Only Sarah showed some basic decency. Steven might by a douchebag most of the time, but he was right and knew what was going on.

This is a ridiculously good product, bordering on “the best thing since sliced bread”! Steven’s comment “there is a difference between a great product and a business” is just nonsensical; there are plenty of one product companies that have had stellar success!
