- From the Paul Hogan Show (Australia), broadcast August 13 1980. This cover of the Lou Christie song was the band's final hit, reaching #15 nationally in 1980, after a number of hits in the mid to late 70s.

I saw this with my parents when it was broadcast. I was 6 and remember being traumatised first by two Rockpiles, then by the falsetto. 😂 Slightly older now, I equally love this cover and Lou Christie’s original.
Was a teen when this come out and loved it
Rediscovering Ol'55 after many years - still an awesome sound!!
As an old rock/pop god - these guys brought so much joy to the world. PLEASURE TO SEE THIS AGAIN.
where are those days in the 80,s now only in my dreams now 1984 watch Essendon win the flag then in 85 and at the same time listening to golden oldies god bless my memorys :)
Oh what memories.......I have not heard this in so long. Fantastic !
Crazy dance moves by the left-handed guitarist!
Music you can understand up there with the best of Aussie rock
Rockpile jones, Australia's answer to the great Lou Christie and in my opinion just as good. His falsetto is out of this world.
But can he co-write songs like LOU?
god i love this song
I like this Lou Christie tune since the inception of the K-Tel album Jukebox Jive in 1973 and I still love it! This one gives totally a new breathe to this classic tune... Simply A W E S O M E!
One of my all time favourite bands! Saw them at the Raffles in Perth late seventies and they sounded exactly like this- Brilliant.
I have the original version by Lou Christie and I like this version just as much. Some may argue that this isn't as good as the Lou Christie version but this video is very clever and entertaining. These guys are good!
Listening to these Legends ....2022
2024💛
Very very nice cover version.
Lou Christie‘s actual lyric is ,” two faces have I, one to laugh, and one to cry.”
If only I had a time machine
Well, Lou Christie is my all-time fave, and of course I think he does this song the best, BUT!!----these guys are good.....and such a cute idea. TY for the post.
Wow - as huge OL'55 fan I thought I';d seen everything, but I've never seen this clip from the Hogan show. Even loved these later incarnations of the band. Rockpile's voice is brilliant. Thank you so much for posting this.
I would love a video of all the people dancing and the band as they are now 40 years later.
the room would be full of wheelchairs and oxygen ventilators
this is amazing
This is my Generation!
Rockpile us a dead set legend.
Time for Ok 55 to tour again. .
Thank god for Aussie Music can't beat the 70's and 80"s can't beat the rock.

I agree with everyone there is no talent anymore it is all crap...I remember dancing this at one of the local pubs in Perth and man it was much fun. Rockpile has just one of those voices like Frankie Valli. Bring it all back and thank you for posting this on here brings back good feelings....
Great cover.
Fuckin amazing. His falsetto goes into off the charts. Super version
Just like Frankie Valli
Ol Rockpile! Crazy good
Just makes you feel like dancing.

Rockpile my god what a deadset spunk hot as !!!! Awesome voice - where is he now ? Legend x
still playing occasionally around Sydney with "The Hips"
Their best song and great clip.
I would rate Rockpile right up there with the likes of Shirl, Barnsey, Hutchenece & Farnham...a very-very underrated vocalist. Thanks for posting, gr8 song, gr8 band and gr8 clip.

I fell in love with this song in 1980 when I was 7...didnt hear it again until 2015...i searched for decades..i thought Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons sung it...lead singer of ol 55 sounds so much like him...stupid question..was the late Daryl Cotton in this band
no
Rockpile Jones is the singer
Clever ,doing black & white & the mix ,,!
Brilliant

I like the dress on the girl in the front of the shot. Unique!
Go Rocky ! .. sounds great ..hoo hoo !
Frankie was still awesome front man - they both good in different ways
@MsLindaharris : OH YEAH .. right-on, friend. I endorse your request 110%. That Ol 55 Number - "THIS LITTLE GIRL" was & always will be my No.1 all-time fave by the band -- outstripped all of their other work .. and that is by no means intended to be any remote kinda put-down of the excellence of their various other hits. Good on you. Take Care !
Guitarist Pat Drummond runs a surf shop down the road. Only found out today about his musical past!
Pat Drummond is a F***ing Legend. Only found out today he runs a Surf Shop
@rightwally Both had left the band by this stage; only a couple (I think) of original members were left at this point.
Patrick on Guitar and Rockpile are the only 2 original members left..the other gutarist was Patricks younger brother, Bass Player was Terry Belliew. The drummer at the time was Geoff Cripps, unsure if that's him on this clip though..Always a great act, regardless of lineup, probably one of Australia's best, and very very underrated.
the drummer in the clip is Doug Martyn who played some tracks on "The Vault" album; the late Geoff Plummer the original drummer played on this track
@@rigsworthy Yep, I stand corrected it was Doug Martin, not Geoff Cripps 9they were both around the same time)
love these guys , go rockpile
Hoges - brilliant. 200? we went to shoppingtown hotel to see 'old skydaddys'.......waiting.....wilbure went to hotel up donny road....was way late. i remember his article on cars....1985 white ford fairlane.....totally brill!

Where's Jimmy Manzie?
This song brings back so many memories for me. Does anyone know if you can get the O'l 55 Two Faces Have I Album on CD?? I've looked everywhere for it.
"The Vault" has never been released on CD. "Two Faces Have I" is included in "Time To Rock'';Roll - Anthology" CD released in 2016
What's the lineup here??
Here I go again, this is dancing. Not hopping up and down or spinning on the floor like a jerk.
Hey Guys- is that Rockpile singing ? Thanks..
CORRECT ! on all accounts !!
I love you
Shout out to young Bill Maher dancing in the beginning
@colindominy
