Thank you. I’ve been hanging on to this footage for a few weeks and wasn’t going to post because I didn’t think the paintings looked good enough to post. But I also didn’t want to do it all over again!😂
Loved your paintings, thank you for sharing. I have several different sets of gouache and keep trying to use them as acrylics since Im an acrylic painter for 30 years. It was good two see you using them it helped me a grat deal. Have a good week.😊
Oh thank you. There is acrylic gouache. The only real difference is that it has a matte finish in comparison to regular acrylic. And it costs a lot more. But with gouache, the trick to building color is that each subsequent layer be a bit thicker than the last to prevent lifting of color. Sometimes I use that to my advantage if I want blending. Or just a slightly damp brush and use that to blend colors and soften edges.
Two very nice and also very different pieces, Sharon. It was so interesting to see how you could still create such a vibrant, colourful summer scene from a palette that was geared towards the more muted colours of autumn. I had to chuckle when you referred to the imminent end of summer in Michigan and the looming arrival of the colder seasons - here in Florida, we're still at the height of summer of course and last night Hurricane Debby paid us a visit, knocking our power out for a while (but fortunately little or no physical damage). I hope that despite your cool days and the various health issues, you've been able to get at least a few days out and about doing plein-air work, because I remember that in spring you were so looking forward to being able to get into the great outdoors once decent weather arrived. Anyway, thanks for the video and take care - kind regards, Brian.
Good to hear from you Brian. I’ve gotten out a bit but not as much as I had hoped. The health problems just keep coming. I thought for sure things would be better. And they could be worse so I just try to stay positive. It does show in my painting though. We are still in summer here. I was just being a bit sarcastic about how fast it changes. We already have a few trees with leaves changing color. But I love all of the seasons. If it is hot out, that’s what I struggle with. So I’m happy!
Yes especially the irodori sets. Their main color selection is a bit less. But their gouache is so nice. I think that there are plenty of other companies that have good gouache as well.
Thanks Sharon. It's always good to see your posts on RUclips. 😊
Love the Autumn colors. The landscapes looked amazing. 😊

Hi Sharon. I have really been enjoying your gouache paintings. These are no exception. Thanks for sharing.
Moss Green is my all time favorite green! A beautiful painting and fun video 😊 thank you Sharon!
Yes, I love that color. Thank you Melissa.😊
Your paintings are wonderful. Love to watch your process.
Thank you so much Joann. 😊
Beautiful paintings. Love the way you used the colors!
Thank you Mary.😊
Love these colours, gorgeous paintings, I too love Autumn, here in UK we have more Autumy days than summery days 😊
Yep. Here too. But our winters get pretty cold. It’s not normal for the UK to get measurable snow though correct?

Hi I hope all is well. Missing you and your videos ❤
I this is a beautiful painting…and you used only gouach?
Beautiful painting, thank you for a great video
Thank you very much!
The Moss Green is Shinhan gouache. So definitely not from any Holbein set 😂
Oh shoot you’re right! Thank you for clarifying that. I didn’t even notice. Wow! 😂
