I used to watch food network all the time and most food critics either were chefs or had a prominent culinary background. Yes they usually published their reviews in articles but being a writer isn't necessarily the defining characteristic of a food critic, it's just one of the mediums used. There are some that go on tv and now more recently online to give their reviews.
The forgetting of the name of performers and the show got me this weekend at essence fest! I just stayed silent because I over thought the situation lololol😂.

Totally reasonable still say something, love is love. Same thing happened to me once my job had a coach bus in Pride parade before the pandemic. One of the actors from Pose was on our bus but for the life of me I couldn't recognize his face. I looked at him and said where do I know you from? He said "I don't know where do you know me from"? Lol I was so embarrassed. Last met him at a friendsgiving potluck and we laughed about the encounter.
I was at the night show in Richmond & yes that 82 year old did not look his age! He could’ve passed for 62 lol I caught some of your interaction with him on video
