Good morning to you from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR. Yesterday (Hong Kong time zone) afternoon, I saw a rarely seen bird for the second time in years - Black-throated Laughingthrush. This time of the year, there are lots of Pacific Swifts zooming about in the sky around my area in the New Territories of Hong Kong. From time to time, Black Kites do make fly-bys in our neighbourhood, too. These days, I notice that the Chinese Blackbirds have changed locations so they are not so easily seen these days.

I saw the Greater Sage Grouse for the first time this year. They suddenly appeared, I'm not sure where they came from. We watched them for an hour or so then they left as suddenly as they appeared. It is so cool to watch them.

They are such cool birds! They start out as looming shadows moving silently through the sage brush and then as the sun comes up they start their show. So fascinating!

Greater sage grouse are almost a myth up here!! There is a tiny population in the province and i'm pretty sure I would pass out or cry if I saw one

I’ve seen and photographed Greater Sage-Grouse at 2 Leks in OR. I have also seen Gunnison Sage-Grouse in CO. Fun but yes early morning starts.

That's awesome! Sharp-tailed Grouse are very cool! I hope to see those with a better view soon as they were hidden by tall grass the last time I encountered them.
