    Looking very nice for the time of the year! I am also putting more evergreen plants in the garden, will take me quite some years to get where you are but you gotta start somewhere :) My Euphorbia Amygdaloides 'Purpurea' has about the same colours as your Miner's Merlot.. Indeed a very pretty plant, so much subtle colours in the leaves!

      Hi and thank you. My Purpurea also looked the same colour as the Miners Merlot until I planted it out in March in a shadier location. Since then it’s pushed out lots of new growth that’s very green. I think it will darken again when the cold comes in Autumn. Cheers

    Lovely. I think you guys in UK have access to a greater variety of tropical plants than we do in US. Seems impossible to find the hardy varieties of Schefferla plus varieties of Fatsia. Always enjoy your garden tours, thanks

    • @tikitropicals65
      @tikitropicals65  7 месяцев назад

      Many Thanks. Some Fatsia and Scheffleras are more common as they have gone through tissue culture and produced on a large scale but others are harder to find as they are seed grown or from cuttings by selected nurseries or private sellers. I do like to grow some of the more unusual plants though.

    Looks fantastic as usual. Your purple Phormiums aren't getting enough sun with all the big plants around them, so that is why the color isn't as bright as it could be. I had one in more shade and it was a lot more green and less purple, whereas the others looked good.

    • @tikitropicals65
      @tikitropicals65  7 месяцев назад

      Hi and thanks. The Phormiums do get plenty of sun but I agree with you probably not enough due to the other plants around them plus our poor summers. I may take a few of the lower leaves off the palm incase it’s shading one of them out a bit. Always appreciate your feedback. Cheers

    Hi I’m so glad I’ve just found your channel. I live in south uk and have a shady garden due to tall sycamores
    along my boundary. Fatsia japonicas, mahonias, Acubas, Carex tree ferns all do well so I’ve got real inspiration from your choice of plants. My soil tends to get dry because of the trees . Do you use an irrigation system ?
    I’ve also got an indoor Schefferlaria “umbrella Plant” which keeps getting honey fungus so I’ve sat it outside in a pot for a bit. Seems ok at the moment. Do you think it would survive if I planted it into the border in a sheltered position?

      Hi. Living in the south of the U.K. is a great climate for this type of gardening. Saying that I would say a tender Schefflera that’s usually a house plant would struggle. I would keep it out for the summer months though. Cheers.

    Could you half dig up the Fatsia polycarpa on the low side to pack soil under to re-angle the stem?

    • @tikitropicals65
      @tikitropicals65  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hi. Not really thought of that. I will have a look to see if it may work or if it would be squashed by other plants. Cheers
