    I actually loved the B02 and wanted to get another, but they were finished. I am looking forward to version 2. I have very sensitive skin and worry about natural fiber reactions. Some brushes cause an eczema flare and some do not. It is tricky. Thanks for your review and happy to have found you online.

    I am perfectly happy with my Sigma and BK Beauty synthetics. I have too many great synthetic brushes to be tempted. I have a lot of rephr as well. I was kind of hoping rephr would venture into more “exotic” natural fibre brushes. I haven’t decided if I will buy these. I certainly don’t need another face brush.

    Hey Alicia, how does that concealer compare to like a Pat McGrath’s or Rare Beauty’s concealer brushes? I love those. There is also a nice one by BK beauty that was done with Angie from Hot and Flashy that is also a nice concealer synthetic brush. Do you feel the rephr is comparable in feel and quality as those mentioned? I have many Rephr brushes. But, so far no synthetic. They are a staple in my makeup brush routine. Thanks for another great video!💖 P.s. an after thought when you were summing it all up, check out the BK Beauty brushes. A synthetic brush line out of The US. I really like their 101 Countoured Foundation. As well as their A506 Concealer. They have some really nice eye brushes as well. And many influencers get a coupon code for their viewers. I wonder what the synthetic fibre used is? I have some Rae Morris brushes which are made with micron crystal fibres and are meant to be on par with goat hair - not saikoho, hakutotsuho. Would be interesting to know whether used MCF or something else.
    Also, I remember from a blog post by Sonia G that it is quite expensive to make fude brushes with synthetic fibres in Japan - she was commenting on the Wayne Goss synthetics and said everyone thinks it will be cheaper because it's synthetic but that's just not the reality of the market in Japan atm. I wonder if Rephr outsourced production to China to avoid consumer backlash if Japanese-made synthetics were considered too expensive.
    Personally I am not tempted - sorry Rephr. I would rather keep buying Japanese made synethics like Rae Morris, Koyudo Makiko, Bisyodo Futur... :)

    Thank you so much for your thoughts! You are so knowledgable about brushes, and it is always a treat to hear your reviews. These are an easy pass for me since I don't really use cream/liquid formulas aside from concealer, and I have very, very sensitive skin. I am surprised with the shapes they decided to go with as two out of the three seem to maximize the potential for feeling the prickliness of the synthetic fibers. Completely agree with you that they should have gone with a more angled brush shape like the 36 (or like BK Beauty's brushes) for the foundation and concealer brushes.

    • @aliciaarcher
      @aliciaarcher  7 месяцев назад +1

      Right, or with a more paddle shade. I think the best combo with a brush this dense is natural and synthetic. But since people wanted exclusively synthetic, Rephr has to play with the shape and density a little more.

    I have the Rae Morris mini buffer and the one shaped like the Rephr 36 (and the Rephr 36). They're fine, not worth the $, unless you're into magnets (which ARE awesome) - i think the mini buffer is too dense for the foundations I use. I love the Rephr 36 and Sonia G Jumbo worker for concealer. . BK's brushes are pretty darn soft, even for pouncing. I got one of their first kitten paw concealer brushes and it does poke but I think it's that individual brush and not the model or the brand, since all the others are quite soft. I'll probably skip the Rephr synthetics, I find their natural hair brushes fine for liquid and cream products. I am interested in the Chicuhodo synthetics though. Are you using yours with any regularity? What is your favorite for cream & liquid eyeshadows like the new Surratt pots, LE liquids, DM colorfix and SG cream eyeshadows - Sonia G fusions? Also, what is a brush that works with creams/liquids (and perhaps separately with powders) that acts as like a finger for eyeshadow toppers (aside from Rephr 21)?

    • @aliciaarcher
      @aliciaarcher  7 месяцев назад +1

      The Chikuhodo J series is outstanding, and I regular use their foundation and cheek brushes. I haven’t tried the new Surratt pots, but yes Sonia’s fusion series is one of my go-to’s for the blend and lay down. And for their ability to hop from cream to powder seamlessly. The shapes are overall more dense, which I feel makes for terrific pickup. The Fusion Builder will act as the finger applicator.

    I like that the brand is expanding into synthetics but as someone who has had to switch to Natural bristles because they leave the natural point at the end and I avoid the irritation most of of my synthetics has caused, I may skip this.
    I always used synthetics and was able to handle them; even with sensitive skin. Now in my 40s I have hyper sensitive skin and eczema in my face and neck too. Last year, I had a really horrible sensitivity rash and even scratches when I used most synthetics and had to give them away to friends and family.
    Even with natural bristles I have to be careful 🤦🏻‍♀️ or I can get sensitized.
    I will say, I do like the shapes of the brand’s brushes and I really hope they have success with this new launch.

  • @alya27092
    @alya27092 7 месяцев назад

    For eye makeup I use only brushes with natural hair because all my eyeshadows are powder based. I have 5 Hourglass eye brushes (first eye brushes I bought) but I don’t use them anymore. They are soft but they don’t pick up the product like the ones with natural hair.
    For face I tend to use more often brushes with synthetic hair because I wash them frequently and they are more resilient. I have a few Chantecaille face brushes but the majority are Rae Morris. Both brands make soft brushes but Rae Morris are out of this world. They are extremely soft, beautiful and high quality- handmade in Japan. It wasn’t easy to build a collection because the price is sky rocket but I don’t regret. Let’s say if you buy a Rae Morris brush you can’t go back and you will want more. I live in Australia and for one powder brush from Rae Morris I paid $170. Maybe you think it’s a big brush but actually is not as big and can be used for blush as well. Also I have one with similar shape and dimension like the Rephr concealer brush and it was $90. It’s good for concealer, for setting powder under eyes or eyelids and any other small areas where a bigger brush can’t do it. I just love it and after few weeks I bought one more.
    I don’t have Rephr brushes and no plan to buy. Thanks for your honest review! 🙂

      Rae Morris is exceptional, as I have one of her foundation brushes. And I understand completely why you would use synthetic for face, due to wash frequency. My Chikuhodo J series brushes are insane. The blush brush is outstanding, where pick up likens to a natural fiber.

I dont want my Products to be produced in China with their ethics and Sense of (or lack of) quality which is why I will skip china made items and am also not interested in the Brand florasis or whatever it is called

      @@aliciaarcher The handles on the Rose and Ben are exquisite. Weighty solid wood handles and the metal ferrules are solid and tight with no rough edges. The fibers and extremely soft and dense but not too dense. They are quite beautiful for synthetic. I mean no one can beat the artistry of Japanese Fude brushes. I've been purchasing from Hakuhodo for over 30 years. The brand came into my radar when my dad back in the 80s was stationed in Japan. They made calligraphy brushes and my gawd were they the most beautiful brushes my little ol eyes ever set sights on. I'm glad that the tradition of Fude brush-making continues but I've noticed my older Hakuhodo brushes are now showing some wear and so I turn to my synthetic brushes as my workhorses.
