Not really. For instance in this case it would untenable for a company to be able to keep such a person after such a massive public opnion loss. People generally frown upon warcrimes. On top of that governments and corporations hate each other in a unquie sort of way since each curbs the others power.
And Ultimatly thats working under the assumption that the people in charge. Be it on the board of directors or the governmental officials are all mustache twirling levels of evil. Which usually they aren't. (Well maybe not so for the goverment officials but I digress) besides even if the people on the board are greedy bastards. Since they are so rich they easily could have the mindset that what the CEO did was frankly unnecessary, and just not work the potential loss for a gain that would ultimately change very little if anything for them.

I’m actually about to play one of those myself! A Wildfire Druid named Faad Vermilion (Red Dragonborn). Due to, circumstances that happened, he’s developed a lust for destruction, wanting to wipe humanity and society from existence to allow nature to reclaim that which was forcefully taken. Funny thing? The campaign is PERFECT for him, because we’re a bunch of pirates! Starting out as slaves for a variety of crimes when we have session 0/session 1 next month. The rest of the crew is fine with my love for destruction, since we’ll already be pillaging and raiding. Though he’ll need to restrain his anger and desires during some parts, as apparently the DM has it so part of the story is that we work with shadier nobles and royals to gain certain freedoms in their territories.

I played a tinker, a custom class the GM was working on, who had a set group of schematics and things I could create and certain schools I could progress in for different types of effects. I ended up going down the High Explosives line mostly because I thought it was funny. But the scenes from the game were great - trying to steer a donkey-powered cart away from a rampaging WW1 style tank, fighting our way down an old-school train one car at a time, and in my case having a romance-that-could-never-be with one of the enemy necromancers who were plotting wickedness. It was a lot of fun.

I've Ran 2 D&D/cyberpunk Campaigns, both set in my homebrew world of Loc Danan(i based it off of the Norman Conquest of England). The key focus was an all-out Civil War between the Druidic Circles & The Imperial Garrisons, with the PC's stuck in the middle. The Garrisons were basically the High-technology areas(Warforged that was basically Robotics, Laser Rifles, etc.), while the Circles were the classic D&D tropes. I used 3.5e for the system but am thinking 'bout transfering it to 5e after the Eberron setting drops....

This trick is still doable under RAW, as I understand it. Plant Growth, level 3 Druid/Ranger/Bard transmutation. After an action's worth of time, All plants within 100 feet of a point within a 150-foot range (no line-of-sight specified) become thick and overgrown. When scaling a skyscraper such as this one, with 15 ft between floors, the druid can cast on a point 5 feet from the ceiling of the 6th floor (6x15=90, plus 10 feet), and be able to transport his entire party 12 floors straight up, and he can do that as many times as he has 3rd level spell slots, plus whatever spell slot he uses for the Treestride/Transport via Plants. Indeed, best practices for this tactic might be to scale the building using the method, using as many 3rd level slots for Plant Growth and 5th level slots for Tree Stride as necessary, plus one to get back down to the party and one 6th level-Transport Via Plants to get them up to the CEO's office. Would leave a massive trail, but hey, their cover's already blown and security's already on their way, what else are they going to do?

My son played a druid in one of our campaigns ("regular" fantasy setting). We were trying to work our way out of some goblin caverns, and all the party was low on hit points, the cleric was just about out of healing spells and potions, and the goblins were hot on our heels. To buy us some time to escape, my son, the druid, cast a Stone Shape and created a thick lattice-work of stone, filling the tunnel behind us. It took the goblins several precious minutes to bash through the two-inch-thick spindels of stone blocking their way, but it didn't stop them. And while we kept running, we were getting exhausted. Once more, the goblins were catching up to us, and we realized we might have to make a desperate last stand and prepare for a TPK. The druid, however, had one more trick up his sleeve. Again he cast Stone Shape, and in a large, 3 foot by 10 foot area, six inches deep, he sank the floor, leaving it riddled with sharp, six-inch-long spikes, close enough together to impede progress. Goblins are generally barefoot...at least, the ones in this campaign were. While they might only have taken a point of damage per spike, in that 3x10 area there were hundreds of them. They couldn't get past it, and we managed to escape. The DM later came up to my son and told him, "That was absolutely brilliant!"

My current campaign is a D&D 5e campaign set in medieval Japan. No, not a Japanese-flavored fantasy land, but an alternate history version of our own world, with gates to other worlds. The characters are ancestors of characters who will live centuries in the future in a time when magic has passed into vague memory, but when what was once magical may now be accomplished through technology and virtual reality. I haven’t decided what rule set I will use, but I like the idea of working as much as possible within the 5e framework, like the interoperability of Pathfinder and Starfinder.
