I've made that same mistake , more than once actually, (Left the cap off the cable, and soldered everything up) when fixing old broken 1/4" trs guitar , so don't feel bad, kudos for leaving it on the video , showing that we all make mistakes 😂 Great inspiration and guidance , for making a piece of kit that apple should be giving to their customers anyways, SALUTE - subbed to the channel
It would be pretty cool if you could show how to make a dongle that goes from female lightning to male 3.5 considering the apple computers don't have a lightning port, only a thunder port. I would like to be able to use my iPhone headset with my computer.
I still have the iPhone 6, but other videos say that the newer iPhones come with the adapter. Did you buy yours used? Is that why yours didn’t come with the adapter?
I was thinking the same but i don’t think so.. he said that the earphone’s lightning pin has a circuit that converts digital signal to analog. The charging pin does not have such thing built inside it.
Possibly? The aux is the same so i don't see why not. But with a different cable, colors and connectors might be set up differently. There's so guarantee it'll work
You first need a usb cable with 5 wires not 4, if you have a computer mouse that connects with a usb you’ve got the right type of cable. Honestly for what efforts it’s going to take to make a otg cable you’re much better of buying one on Amazon unless you’re like me and want to make one for knowledge
@@warewolf2304 Thank you for the reply. Yes, I would like to make one for knowledge as well. I’m from Brazil and here Apple products are very expensive. I’m not meaning that in USA is not expensive, but American currency is about 6 times more than Brazilian currency. This iPhone, for example, was my crazy aunt 😁 who bought and gave me.
Yeah i'm sorry it's not so clear in the video. They are colored. I followed this diagram and put the grounds together. www.circuitbasics.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/iPhone-Headphone-Wires-EDITED-RESIZED-1024x607.jpg
just bought an iphone 12 today and have to wait its on back order I think I'm going to be pissed as I run this into a pa system... Therefore im keeping my 6s to do this. I think I'm going to return the apple crap before I get too angry
I use a clothes peg to hold the jack plug in position when soldering, stops it from rolling about. Cheers.
That's a good tip. Thanks!
Could’ve spent $10 to get the official lightning to 3.5mm adapter but instead you’ve given us a nice video thanks!
Thank you
I felt really human when he said “Both male and female”
Wonder how non-binary people watch this video feel.

A small vice might be an idea ? As you know how to solder .
LOL he cut the cable while it was still connected to the phone. What better way to short-circuit something.
Yeah I was like 😮😮😮😮😮😮
Audio doesnt short circuit
do we have any kind of online converter where at one end i insert lightenning port and other side is aux?
i dont want mic or volume control i just want its original sound on my pc. will it sound the same after using it into 3.5mm devices?
I still have the iPhone 6, but other videos say that the newer iPhones come with the adapter. Did you buy yours used? Is that why yours didn’t come with the adapter?
Got it as a gift. It came with the original packaging, but no adapter.
Works great around 5-10 seconds and stops the music. Is there any solution ? iPhone 6s ios 14.3
Can i use charging pin instead of earphone pin?
I was thinking the same but i don’t think so.. he said that the earphone’s lightning pin has a circuit that converts digital signal to analog. The charging pin does not have such thing built inside it.

Hi, please
Could you teach me how to make OTG cable for iPhone XR?

you never mentioned or showed which wire connects where in the jack 😒

I mention it at 7:45
We have the exact same phone
That's impossible, Apple only sold millions of them
i’ll pay you to make me one
Instead of paying him to make one for you just buy a new real adapter
Can you tell me the correct way to connect the iOS wire to female 3.5 adapter
i.stack.imgur.com/Vhiom.jpg
