I enjoy the hour long food diaries. Great ideas that have helped me.... I am fixing leftover roast chicken sandwiches instead of deli meat and it has helped tremendously.
I always look at the coffee at our discount store and I used to get great coffee deals but sadly all they carry anymore is Starbucks coffee’s and neither my husband or son want those and it is still expensive. Occasionally I will find yuban, or maxwell house and I buy those canisters.
That's about how much I spent on groceries today too. And I got extra cash (ones in denomination), for Monday, the eclipse, I'm in central OH. It might be partly cloudy though. I have glasses, I ordered them from Amazon. They also say it might be hard to get gas for your car. Because so many people will be in one area. I'm downtown, so I probably will not be affected. I'm worried about the phones though and internet.
Is it legal for stores to sell expired products in America? Cause I keep wondering why we don’t have them in the EU but I think that’s why. I believe the regulations force stores to throw everything that’s expired. (I know you usually don’t buy expired goods, I was wondering if selling them in discount stores or donating them to food banks is legal).
Good question. It is legal to sell them but regular grocery stores do not. Charitable organizations don’t generally accept them either. I think it’s a liability thing. Discount stores, however, do offer expired goods. Frankly, I think it’s a good practice if handled with care. Less food waste.
@@TheBealles It’s a good practice especially for dry goods, we don’t have such stores though, that’s probably the reason, food regulations within the EU. Some of these rules are good (regarding the content of sugar for example) but there should be exceptions so we could have these budget friendly stores too.
@@minime7375when the UK was part of the EU, I used to get yellow sticker specials for foods that were expiring that day. Sometimes I would get a loaf of bread for a penny and meats for 50 cents etc. People would come just for the discounts and nothing ever expired at those prices. Maybe talk to your grocery store manager and see what their policy is on food waste and discounting expiring food. In the UK we had best before and sell by dates that differ. The 1 cent bread was up against the sell by dates. See if your store discounts. They go fast.
@@tenthousanddaysofgratitude They do discounts (yellow stickers) but here there are a lot of poor people, especially pensioners, who could benefit from discount stores like they have in America. It’ s Eastern Europe, very low wages but a can of peas or a loaf of bread sells with 2 euro in the store, it’s ridiculous. And I think that’s the case with UK too, we don’t really have what they call “mom&pop” stores anymore, just chains like Aldi, Penny, Carrefour, etc, a lot of overpriced stuff that could go in a discount store when they don’t sell and they approach the “best by” date. I refuse to pay 4 euro for a tiny pack of mint thins😬
Good grocery haul but I think I beat you on the price of my Kroger on the pineapple and the ketchup but I miss getting a pizza sauce at the Dollar tree now that Dollar general's manager has now started working for Dollar tree they're going to start putting different products in the store I hope they compete against each other and bring their prices down
It’s tough but it’s fair. I hate that I miss the best deals, too, but it’s like the old adage, the early bird gets the worm. Sometimes it works out in our favor though
Mix it up a few hours and few small videos. I had to go back being meat eater as I do not hold same convictions and values most vegans stand for now. I am eating what God wants me to eat..

@@arthrodea glad they work for you....but as I stated my answer to her question, they do not for me. I'm glad I don't have that much laundry to fold! 😉 Blessings to you!
Enjoy the long videos! Thank you for the positivity and great meal ideas!
Thank you 😊

Rick loves their coffee and if we can find any deals that would be fine… But coffee deals are pretty much nonexistent now
@@TheBealles it is hard to find coffee deals sadly.

I haven’t even thought about it. I guess we’ll be taking our chances 🤷♀️
Great prices.. so good to see you often..xo
Aw ❤️ Thanks, Carol!
You got some great deals!
Thank you 😊
How was the seed butter? I like the long videos that I can watch on the weekend. 💖
Rick said it’s not like peanut butter exactly, but once you get used to it, it’s pretty good and satisfies the peanut butter craving
@@TheBealles yay!!!

Why don't you use rags vs paper towels?
I absolutely do, but with our busy lifestyle I use both. Trying to keep it minimal
@@TheBealles Amanda, I love that you reply to each suggestion with grace and happiness and are not offended easily by that. Love from Germany
I wish the discount store would have limits on what people can buy. It's crazy that people buy them out withing minutes of the best deals showing up

1 hr is a bit long...I really enjoy your videos but often just don't have the time to watch one that long.
Just watch a little, you're in control, lol
I personally love the longer videos. I will watch as I fold laundry or get work done.
