Hi, I figured they'd have a sensor tool to detect underground pipes, but never checked in to it. 20 inches is pretty good, but at some point the pipe may be deeper than 18 or so inches. I say 18 because your not going to drag the probe in the dirt. I wondered if you'd had a chance to use it on drain lines of your sewer line. To see if the transmitter could shoot more than 20 inches.
Thanks for doing a pretty thorough review with actual examples. Appreciated.
You always do such a terrific job with your videos! Thanks for all the time and effort you put into making these helpful videos. Always a thumbs up from me! Looking forward to the next video!
Thanks Todd! Your latest testing video about Walmart's full synthetic motor oil was fantastic, and it will definitely save me some money in the future.
Wow what a great product. im plumbing a workshop that im building in the back of my yard and it will have a toilet and sink. i can probably use this product to figue out what labor is required.
Thank you for the video. Looks like a Florida home
You're welcome! Yes, South East Florida
Is there a depth finder on this? How deep can you read? I'm trying to trace 2 septic lines one form my shop and another right out of my house. I'm building a pool and want to see how these lines affect my sewer lines and if they need to be moved. Depth would be great but not 100% required. Tnx
If it's perfectly quiet outside, maybe 2 feet deep.
Pretty cool. Any tips on how to find a break in buried electrical cable?
Very thorough reveiw. Thank you.
How well would this work going around 90 degree bends?
@electronicsNmore In regard with PVC pipe only,This device has better performance or the one you made in your video : "
Plastic Pipe Locating Device"?
I couldn't tell you because one unit is in storage.
what about finding buried wires? I purchased property in Wisconsin it was a parsil 2 lines connected to my main go on a different parsil. its not being used as I have breaker pulled and capped but Its a 100 amp servise used for RV hookup .. I have RV for company I know the line is close to RV but dont want to dig 100 holes will this work for that? if so I will be able to use this allot in future when doing projects as all lines as well as my well water that is about 100' from main house so I know it wont be wasted
As long as the pipe isn't too deep, this will work. If it's a metal conduit, then use a metal detector.
i believe what electronics might be trying to say is use a metal or a conductive/inductive pipe locator , a regular metal detector i would not trust , 35 years doing pipeline repair , a tad pricey and takes a little bit of skill put extremely accurate under most metal circumstances, and under no circumstances NO do not trust the metal rods that cross like in a water witch,, if you are searching get your best diligence ,maybe use the rods to somewhat confirm your best guess is, other wise you get what you pay for
Does it work for sewer pipes?
Do you know how well this one works if the pipe is filled with water, like drain pipes? Also, the specified range is not that long. - during your tests, did you notice if it was possible to detect the signal further away from the cable compared to the range specified for the product?
It works very well. Distance makes no difference. You're detecting the end of the cable. The demo was inside a water filled sprinkler pipe. Thanks for watching!
@@electronicsNmore thanks for your reply. The thing I had in mind is that the data sheet says "Measuring distance (depth)>50cm" and that was the limitation I ws thinking of. But during your tests you was able to detect it further away than 50cm?
@@johanholmberg1561 Yes, the depth up to 50cm.
I'd like to run this down a toilet and see where the waste water line runs inside the wall and under the floor, (I have a concrete slab home). Will the flexible rod take that bend radius thru the toilet water trap....or better I remove the commode first?
Thanks.
It can, but I'd remove the toilet. It's easy to install a new wax ring and seal the base.
I'm reading on Amazon reviews that you can't push it through 4" corrugated pipe which is what I need it for. Any experience with this? Needing to find clog or cut off at end. Have already hydrojetted pipe really well trying to get water or nozzle to surface with no success. Hoping that this would work
As long as it's not too deep, you'll hear the signal.
I used an electricians fishtape for something like this. I attached a tennis ball to the end so it wouldn't get hung up on the corrugated pipe.
Thanks for these wonderful info.
Glad it was helpful!
That is a great idea!!!!
Super useful gadget. Thanks for watching!
Hi, is there something similar that can be used for drains upto 1m deep? Thanks
Not that I know of. Thanks for watching!
Wow used to be a professional tool at thousands, now with my $20 endoscope 1080p I'm all set.
You're right. Years ago a tester like this would cost a lot of money. Now well under 100 bucks.
Nice 👍🇫🇷
Nice product
Thanks for watching Ed!
can you revise it from 50cm to 100 cm?
Nice product. Got well and septic tank system would work great for marking and locating. 👍
Glad you enjoyed the video! Be sure to check out my other videos as well, and most importantly share. Thank you
Would you foresee any issue locating poly pipe buried no more than 2ft deep?
Yes.
@@skibum922 why?
Hi sir. I am looking for something that can identify a pipe 6-8 feet deep. Can you recommend a product for that job?
If its not something you'll use often I'd suggest a tool rental co. in your area. My sewer cam and locator was almost $7k 🙃😪😭😭😢😥
I just bought this to track down some very long runs of pvc irrigation in my yard that are leaking @ around 2 foot depth. Stay tuned. Note: I tried to make one of these with fish tape and a toner, but it didn't work at that depth. Perhaps if the fish tape was copper it would have been more detectable.
I added the headset jack to my unit, so I'm able to hear faint signals from a deep pipe, but if it's very quiet outside, you should hear a change in the audio. 2 feet is pushing the limits. Thanks for watching!
did it work?
@Kaitlin Bunge I've been showing products from Banggood for at least 5 years. I only show products with good reviews. No company is perfect.
I have two lines that I want to locate. One is a waste line going to a septic tank and a small copper line that goes from an lp gas tank to the foundation of my house. Any suggestions?
You'll need a metal detector or this device.
Wow That is some nice usefull tool.
It sure is! Thanks for watching! Be sure to look over my extensive video playlists below for many other videos of interest to you, and share links to my videos with many others on social networking sites.

@@electronicsNmore From where??? The link you sent gives me 200+Aud including postage. :(
This is what I’ve been looking for, this is fucking genius. I thought only ridgid made sonar transmitters for sewer and drain.
Be sure to use the money saving coupon if you buy one. Thanks for watching!
What frequency is it putting out ?
Not sure, I'd have to check when I remove it from storage. Thanks for watching!
Will this detect through 4inch concrete?
Yes, you saw me test it in the video.
Looking to find a wire in our back yard - he's telling me how to build a tracing device!
Yes, as the name states, this is an electronics channel.
Is this for underground detection of PVC pipe
If you slide this inside the pipe yes
What is the brand name and where can I buy I still can't find it
I have links posted in the video description area. Thanks for watching!
will the tip on the cable go through a 1 inch pipe L?
You mean make the 90 degree turn?
@@electronicsNmore yes
Was to locate water and sewer lines from the street on a property that used to have a home on it, but the basement was filled in. No help.
Can this locate sewer drain 5 or 6 ft down?
That's a little too deep.
Any thoughts on the depth to which it will work, especially in soil?
Up to 20".
where do i buy it
I posted a link in the video description area. Thanks for watching!
Can’t this detect main water line 10 ft deep?
Way too deep.
Holy shit man. This is how you make money.
Yes. You can make a lot of money tracing lines for people with this device. Glad you enjoyed the video!
can it be used to trace the path of underground pvc pipes?
Yes. I've used it for that. Thanks for watching!
@@electronicsNmore This device has better performance or the one you made in your video : "

I'm not sure if my homemade device works in metal pipes.
@@electronicsNmore in regard with PVC pipe only, which one has better performance and accuracy?
Where can I find it

Unfortunately, my sewer seems to be 3 ft or deeper.
If you had a headphone jack, you'd hear the faint signal.
What’s the name of that gadget?
Hi Josh. I posted a link in the video description area. Thanks for watching!
What is the name of the tool?
Hi Bry. Link posted in the video description area. Thanks for watching!
I just use coat hangers bent into divining rods with straws for handles free and you don't have to listen to that screeching. You should make a video on that too :)
I got this tool and am very disappointed. The sensor can not pick up anything over 6 to 10 inch down. The wire not ridged enough to push into an open conduit or pipe for more then say 15ft. You will never get it to go around a sweep 90. It did work finding buried power lines with out the probe with the line is energized.
You saw me demonstrating in the video with no problem through concrete
Perhaps try taping the probe to an electrical fish tape so as to push the probe further?
@@ikester475 And add one of those cheap Oikwa (sp???) Cameras. boom. Never get your stupid-expensive sewer cam stuck again! Oh, yeah! And you can zip tie them all a few feet back from a jetter head!!!
I ordered this and got cancelled, had no ideal?....said they couldn’t find a shipping method for batteries in this equipment...what type of battery..Guam is a US Territory?.....please lmk how I can get one of these?...need one...most buildings...homes are 90% concrete
Certain countries can be an issue. I lived in the Bahamas, and couldn't order many things. I'll look into it.
WTF 1:11 just as you put the receiver down it moved on its own without you moving it how is that possible it is screwing with my mind
🤣 Editing. Thanks for watching Mitch!
How much

I’ve tried a metal detector. It bleeps constantly. Lots of buried nails and other rubbish. Useless for finding a meter buried underground
South East Florida. High neighbor I am in Plantation, FL.
If you see an old buzzard on a Blue Honda GoldWing motorcycle with yellow fog lights that is me. I have never been beat in a race by a HOG.
The downside is the LEO's know me by my first name (They tolerate old guys who revert to 16 year olds for a race sometimes).
What you are using to locate pipes & cable is a small version of an "M"scope since tubes & microprocessors were not invented yet. The "M" scope was like 2 attache cases. I had to locate all underground gas lines in Pulaski, NY for a sewer project (About the time dirt was invented).
Surprisingly about every 1/2 mile there was a valve box looking thing with a strip of nickle or similar. That was a sacrifice strip designed to corroded and disintegrate instead of the metal pipes they were connected to.
No problem anymore with non metal gas lines.
Your video is great but shipping time from China not good.
Therefore I will probably contact my cable provider for a location.
Yes, a very bad time to buy from China. That was my friend's house in Boynton.
@@electronicsNmore I ordered dozens of 4mm fibreglass arrow shafts from China and it took months to get them :-(
I have lots of friends and a former employee in Boynton.
I ride my GoldWing bike there often. Riding season is opposite from central NY (Syracuse) as well as most northern states.
Florida lightning is not friendly to a biker in the rainy season however we don't get lightning strikes in the winter here (Hoping no Hurricanes this year). That and virus stuff keeps me on RUclips or playing in my machine shop.
Your accent sounds NY like long island ?
Keep the great videos coming.

Don't buy this product if you try to find city sewer lines
As long as you don't exceed the maximum depths you have no issues
This thing looks like cheap chinese garbage.
